By now, Grendel knew which Disciples were loyal to him and which were not. He also knew which ones were gone, either by having slept for too long or by meeting final death. Either way, the God had run out of patience and would no longer wait. Now was the time to replace all those who had either not fallen in line, had not met his expectations, or had come to some unpleasant end. While there were many he had not quite settled on, a few he already had in mind to elevate to a new position of power.
One of which, in particular, he knew all too well. Lilith. A mother of his children and the one who might have become his mate had Grendel not walked away from her when he did. Caine had punished him for those misdeeds, but the God did not regret what he had done.
Lilith would have hated being an Angelique anyway and would have scorned him for it.
Having at least parted on amicable terms, and though it had been many years since he had seen her last, Grendel felt very comfortable approaching the ancient Tzimisce vampire in her home. He arrived in a mass of shadows on her doorstep, a rumble that vibrated through the air announcing his presence. Lifting a hand, he rapped on the thick wooden door with his knuckles, the sound like booming thunder that reverberated down the mansion's halls.
And then he waited.
Sylent Nytex look at him bein all polite and knocking on the door instead of barging in~

Practicing Vicissitude took up most of Lilith’s time, her mastery of the discipline was something she took great pride in. The booming knock would have snapped her out of what she was doing in the dark dungeon-like room of the mansion, had she not felt him before she even heard him. Hairs on the back of her neck and arms raised, a shiver running down her spine when the power of the God took up space around the Tzimisce home. Red eyes narrowed slightly and she flexed her left hand, testing out the modified appendage and the claws that adorned it. Pleased with her work thus far, she smiled to herself.
It had been a while since she had last seen her ex, but she would know the power that she felt no matter how long it had been. There was nothing quite like it.
Practically floating through the halls like a ghost, the Elder Vampire approached the heavy front door and opened it to see Grendel before her. Different, but the same. Her head tilted ever so slightly to one side and she smirked at him, leaning against the doorframe.
“To what do I owe the pleasure? I didn’t think we were doing booty calls anymore.”

He could not help but smile at her when she opened the door, no matter the cheeky words she spoke. Their fling had not been like the others; it had gone on for some time, though ultimately, the relationship had failed. Had that been entirely Caine's doing, or would it have ended either way? It was probably the latter, though the former had certainly hurried it along.
"Lilith." He greeted her with the deep rumble of his voice, red gaze skimming over her and taking in the changes she had made. It seemed that, over the years, she had modified herself quite a lot, and he could feel the power that emanated from her, an unmistakable thrum in the air that only proved to him that he was making the right choice.
"Alas, we are not." He tilted his head slightly, thick red hair falling over one eye until he reached up to sweep it aside and tuck it behind one ear. "I have come for another reason..." He paused, and amusement shone in his gaze,
"Aren't you going to invite me inside?"
