    History

    Early History: In the First Nights, the Clan was fairly centered around its Antediluvian and, not surprisingly, Egypt. Many different tales are told about his divinity and how he was cursed by Ra in his struggle against his rival Osiris, whom he eventually managed to kill, and his abandonment by his disciples and fellow Antediluvians. In the manner of the Path of Typhon, all these accounts are taken for true, because limitation to just one version is just another sign of the influence of Ra and Osiris in this world.
    It can be said that Set's get had a fairly great influence on Egypt as a whole during the days of pharaonic Egypt, although his efforts were always undermined by the Osirian League under the leadership of his eternal enemy Horus. Set himself guided his Clan from his great temple in Ombos and sometimes got involved personally with dethroning pharaohs who were too entrenched by Ma'at and the schemes of the Aeons. In this way, the Followers of Set established their hold on the lands of Egypt several times: First during the reign of the Hyksos (in an alliance with the Lasombra), then during the 19th dynasty under Ramesses and during the Hellenistic Age under Alexander the Great. During the reign of Rome, the Setites flourished in countless cults among the children of Seth and of Caine, promising ancient secrets and shaping the mindset of their cultists to resist the snares of Ma'at.
    All these efforts were delivered a serious blow when Set himself disappeared in 33 CE (the alleged year of Christ's crucifixion, as some Setites note) or 33 BCE. After the departure of the founder, earthquakes shattered Egypt and many of the old temples sunk and became lost, often taking many of the slumbering methuselahs of the clan with them. However, Nakhthorheb and the remaining Hierophants took the reigns of the clan, ruling the progeny of Set in his absence.

    Dark Ages: Setites were rare in Dark Medieval Europe, spending most of their time in Egypt. During this time, the first heresy appeared within the Clan, growing from Constantinople, where the rogue Hierophant Khay'tall had endorsed a philosophy of corruption for its own sake, rather than as a tool to break a person free from outside influences in the service of Set. While these "Decadents" or "Typhonists" were originally fairly confined to the Eastern Roman Empire, the fall of Constantinople in 1204 spread them across the whole known world, where they taught their debased philosophies and sometimes even practiced demonolatry. The Hierophants sought to bring the situation under control by banning these vampires from Egypt. In doing so, they made it impossible for them to learn their true history, leaving them to spread across Europe unhindered.

    Setites were known as Walid Set in the lands of Arabia and North Africa, and spent much of their time fighting to keep the influence of Europe out of their lands. Although they claimed to dominate Egypt, they actually only had a few holdings that could rightfully be called theirs; the rest belonged to the other bay't and the Garou of the Sahara. The clan they struggled against the most was the one with the greatest power over the Islamic regions and the Ashirra: the Banu Haqim. A temporary treaty was reached, but relations remained uneasy between the two for years afterward. The Clan had a deep enmity with the Ashirra, who viewed their idolatrous religion as blasphemy, while the Setites saw the faith that the Islamic vampires endorsed as a stifling of the natural order Set had sought to restore.
    The advent of learning during the Renaissance only increased the Setites' possibilities to subvert the European vampires, gaining advantage from the trade with goods from the Orient and the New World, as well as the new "leisure class" that arose in the cities, the customers for Set's teachings. The expansion of the Ottoman Empire also provided cover for them to travel into Europe and slave trade remained one of the most profitable businesses for the clan.

    Victorian Nights: The Setites reveled in the Victorian Age: As ancient knowledge was demanded more and more in Kindred society, the Setites' clientele rose more and more, as many Kindred discovered the usefulness of their bargains. The Setite presence in Camarilla cities during this time was increasingly high and some Princes allowed them even in their retinue. And with the strict puritan taboos of society, the increasing interest in occultism and the rising opium trade, corrupting mortals to the service of Set was easier than ever.
    Despite the occupation of their ancestral homeland, the Setites were able to maintain a great deal of their influence in Egypt and some, like Izzat al-Khunzir, were actively opposing the foreign princes that occupied their ancient cities. Also, the clan expanded heavily into America in this time in order to corrupt and influence the young government of the States.

    Modern Nights: In the Final Nights, many Setites saw the signs of Gehenna as portents that Set would soon arise, and indeed many Gehenna scenarios involve his return. They remained staunchly independent, but since they still had to acquire power and wealth to ease the return of their god, they ventured far from Egypt. Setites in this period frequently lived in Camarilla (or, less often, Sabbat) cities, seducing and corrupting other Kindred, staying outside sect politics except to serve their own ends. Few among the other clans trusted them, but they had many secrets and were often able to infiltrate a Prince's court by trading information or promising favors. Such deals generally worked out in the Setite's favor.

    “Different times in different places. The only ones who still use that name are in Africa, or of Egyptian descent. Now we’re… I guess we’re like the opening sequence of that TV show. You know, the one with the smiling Buddhas and floating pills, worship of sleek guns, sports cars, anything addictive... You can’t follow something inside of you. We are Set, now. We are his living church. His temple. All of our bodies belong to him. He can hear you now. ”

    At some point following the start of Gehenna, the clan underwent a name change, now identifying themselves as the Ministry, save for those in Africa or of Egyptian descent, who still use the old name. In part it was a rebranding, an update for the times, but it was also a sign that the clan's understanding of its relationship to its founder had changed – rather than being Set's followers, they see Set as being within them, making them his living church.
    With the start of the Beckoning, and the Sabbat's Gehenna Crusade, the Ministry found their home territories invaded. Deciding it was not a good time to be independent, they sought entrance to the Camarilla around the same time as the Banu Haqim, but were rejected. Many have turned to the Anarch Movement, and are now arming their twin weapons of temptation and subversion to bring spiritual liberation to all descendants of Caine.
    In addition, some members of the Samedi bloodline have declined to join the Hecata in favor of joining the Ministry. In vampire domains, the Ministry comfortably serves two purposes. On one hand they are suppliers unafraid to dirty their hands with drugs, vessels, and anything else on the desperate side of the tracks. On the other, they are the spiritual core of many coteries. This dichotomy does not pass the Ministry by. They dance with the devil and preach spiritual purity. Though some licks consider them hypocrites for this mixed message, the Ministers claim the role of martyrs: They fraternize with sin so others need not. In this way, they retain plausible deniability. Most vampires accept this explanation, as the Ministers’ usefulness outweigh lingering most suspicions.

    Organization

    Setite organization is mostly local, with a single temple or network of cults representing a city's Serpent presence. Setites in the cities rarely scheme among each other, preferring to face outward threats in unity rather than the schismatic self-interest of the Sects. However, whispers persist among outsiders about a massive temple devoted to Set located somewhere in Africa, ruled by terrible methuselahs who claim to be the childer of Set himself.
    The Hierophants or Eternals are the leaders of the Followers of Set in the absence of their founder. They are the oldest of their clan, who have known Set personally and acted as his stewards in the temples dedicated to the god.

    Paths of Enlightenment

    Path of Typhon
    Followers of this path fight against the Beast by indulging in it in controlled manner and gaining so much more tolerance against its call (in a similar manner to the rising resistance against alcohol an alcoholic possesses), until the time when Set will return to cleanse his followers from the Beast and form a new world after reclaiming his throne from the Sun-God.

    The Followers of Set teach that their founder was one of the gods of Egypt, beings they collectively call Aeons. The Setites say that they are much older than the Hebrew legend of Caine. Set became a vampire through his defeat of Apophis and the curse of Ra, but turned the curse of undeath into a divine blessing that he shared with deserving mortals. They claim the Aeons as jailers of a corrupt and rotten world that denies mankind its birthright to overthrow the creator god Ra and create their own worlds. Only Set realized the full potential of mankind and was cast out by his brethren. After this incident, the Aeons retreated from the material world, no longer ruling directly over the mortals, but enslaving them with social trappings to bind the soul into matter and degrade further and further into their service.

    The Followers of Set (and the adherents of this Path) fight against this by eroding the spiritual chains that bind the cattle, gifting the worthy with the Embrace and converting them to the service to Set. Setite cults may incorporate elements from Greek mystery cults, Christian Gnosticism, African tribal religions, Sufi mysticism, Hindu philosophy, and indeed any other mystic or esoteric ideas a Theophidian might encounter. One example for this bred the name of the Path: the story of the thousand-headed dragon Typhon from Greece, whose throne was stolen by the gods, just as Set himself was denied his rightful place as the ruler of the world. The Path of Typhon encourages a creative theology, as a result, there are no fixed texts and rituals; if a new interpretation or cult practice leads more people to enlightenment it is true, or at least true enough for those of limited understanding. As a result, variations of the Path exist, are tolerated, and widely practiced, like the Path of Sutekh and an even older form from the times before Set fell into torpor and vanished. The only exceptions are open heresy like the practices of the Serpents of the Light.

    Most people cannot recognize the spiritual chains that bind them. Here too, mortal desires serve the Theophidian cause. If a person cannot understand his enslavement to social convention, perhaps she will understand enslavement to alcohol, sex, or money. The Setites would teach gently if they could. All too often, however, nothing will open a person's eyes but the complete ruination of his life and pride. Theophidians call such soul-shattering lessons the Revelation of the Void. At last, humbled and stripped of worldly entanglements, a Setite's victim may devote his life or unlife to Set and begin the long trek to transcendence. A devout Theophidian strives to root out any trace of conscience or morality based on custom and the dictates of society. He deliberately seeks out the objects and acts that revolt him, to break their power over him. He also confronts his own desires, to break their power as well – if necessary, by exhausting them through hyper-indulgence. His goal is to hate nothing but the Aeons and desire nothing except his own emancipation and the emancipation of others.

    Theophidians differ in what they want to do with the world once they escape its grip and fully realize their divinity. Some Theophidians want to depart this world and shape new worlds in the abyss of Nun. Other Theophidians hope to replace the gods and rule the world themselves. A few quietists say that once the soul achieves gnosis, the world and the Aeons become irrelevant.

    Ethics
    • Gather information that can bring about the resurrection of Set
    • Contribute to the goal of the Followers of Set (reviving Set)
    • Bring others into your sway to increase your influence
    • Subjugate the Beast's whims
    • Maintain secrecy above all
    • Look for Set's hidden signs and follow them

    Path of Sutekh
    The Path of Sutekh is a sub-path of the Path of Typhon, that focuses more on breaking down moral taboos and freeing oneself from the influence of the material world than aiding (meaning corrupting, of course) others to attain this sentiment. It uses an identical Hierarchy of Sins as its main path, only its reasons for its motivations differ.
    Some Setites have tried to fuse the two branches by calling the Path as a whole the "Path of Typhon-Set", in a similar manner Egyptian gods were often fused, depending on dynasty (Atum-Ra, for example). Some cults teach the Path of Typhon first, then teach the Path of Sutekh when the Setite becomes ready for a higher level of initiation.

    Ethics
    • Gather information-secret and otherwise-and learn how it applies to the resurrection of Set, the true nature of divinity and the origin and fate of the world
    • Subjugate the Beast: self-discipline and cunning must temper a warrior's rage.
    • Immerse yourself in whatever you hate, fear or shun, that it may not hold power over you
    • Tempt, confuse, and degrade others, that they may recognize their own limitations and seek to overcome them
    • Maintain a veil of secrecy, for the Aeons delude humanity into fearing its own freedom.
    • Acquire power to further the cult's cause and turn the Aeons' dupes against them, but do not love power for its own sake
    • Seek revelation through knowledge, faith, and experience

    The Path of Ecstacy
    The Path of Ecstasy is a side branch of the Path of Typhon that focuses more on the Revelation of Ecstasy than the others.
    Followers of the path are called Ecstatics or Maenads. When referring to all adherents, they use the term Thiasus.

    The current form of the Path originates in the teachings of the Children of Judas from Constantinople. It rejects the involvement of the Typhonists in degradation and corruption and concerns itself only with one’s own debauched pleasures. The Ecstatics are less concerned about corrupting the physical world than they are about achieving preternatural ecstasy to transcend it. Where the Albigensians see themselves as barred from the spiritual world, the Ecstatics see it as their right and create windows to it through beautiful moments. Sin is not the end goal, but a potential tool in crossing the tyrannous taboos of the moralists. Many members are part of Cult of Taweret.

    Followers of this path revel in luxury, and sate the Beast by glutting its appetite. They reject the base cruelties of the Typhonists; rather than celebrating misery, they glorify pleasure, reveling in the most decadent extremes of vampiric sensation. They pride themselves on the materialism of the modern world, and boast that it is a direct result of their actions and existence.

    Members of this path often especially despise Kindred of Clan Toreador, and take every chance to humiliate and distress them. Other Setites often use Ecstatics as "fronts" to lull other vampires into a false sense of security and use their straight forward practices as a gateway into the more complex mysteries of Typhonism.

    Ethics
    • Pursuit of pleasure is a spiritual obligation. Those who spurn luxury seek to befoul the spirit with grossness, and are misguided
    • Existence serves no purpose save to entertain. Ignite rapture in yourself and others. Spread holy delirium
    • To resist temptation is a great wrong
    • Vampires are the children of Caine's sin and thus, should commit themselves to sin
    • Erode the imprisoning paradigms of the Aeons whenever possible. Crossing taboos weakens them
    • Moments of transcendental rapture open a window to the beyond. Create these "beautiful moments" whenever possible
    • It is not a crime to kill, as long as the act is performed beautifully

    The Path of the Warrior
    The Path of the Warrior is a martial variant of the Path of Typhon. Most of its adherents are Warrior Setites or associated with the Cohort of Wepwawet.
    The Path originates in disaffected Setites following the Roman domination of Egypt. Believing the Typhonic teachings as lacking, these vampires sought a return to the roots of their founder. As Set was once a warrior and hunter who fought against the Chaos Serpent to protect the sun god, many followers of the Path see themselves as following in Set's original footsteps. Through discipline and pain, they seek to dominate the Beast, which they see as an illusion of their mind, by stealing their body until it becomes able to suppress the Beast's urges. An advanced follower of the Path is a terrible foe and most act as shock troops for greater temples.

    Ethics
    • The mind is subservient to the body, and so is the Beast. Although the body is bestial, it can be refined. The Embrace begins this transmogrification, but even afterward the Beast can still reign, unless it is beaten down with exercise and struggle
    • You are a killer. Do not hesitate to kill
    • The Body is bestial and must be punished. Scourge yourself, hurt yourself, push yourself to your limits, and know that in doing so you hurt the Beast
    • Every moment must be spent honing the powers of the body. Your vampiric disciplines are a body function and must be trained, too
    • The True Death is preferable to failure and weakness
    • You must be ready for the resurrection of Set and the final battle

    Setite Divisions
    As followers traveled their doctrines changed to to identify their divine forebear with a local god to make their message more palatable and to make themselves seem less foreign.

    Cults:

    The Cohort of Wepwawet
    (sometimes also called Wepwaret) is a Setite cult that is mainly observed by Warrior Setites. It is dedicated on preserving the “purity” of Theophidian faith. Besides their missionary crusade, the Cohort also wages war against other supernaturals they regard as servants of the Aeons.
    (Founding Temple: The Arena of Thunder)

    Cult of Taweret
    Explorers of the extremities of sensation in their quest for enlightenment. The Taweretans emphasize liberation through ecstasy and debauchery. Some Setites consider the Taweretans a little too self-indulgent, but these Serpents hold their own view about the best way to oppose the Aeons. They corrupt people one at a time, but show great skill at picking victims whose ruination can cripple a company, pull down a government or otherwise cause public shock and cynicism at the scandal. The Taweretans never operate in groups larger than three: they argue that the Aeons taint any bond not based on personal emotions.
    (Founding Temple, Palace of Veils)

    Sisterhood of Sekhmet
    Plays on the idea of a female Gehenna. Using Sekhmet as their fierce lioness-goddess of war, plague, and healing. Recruiting through political discontent. The preistesses introduce the worship of Sehkmet as a "woman's religion" suitable for the undead. They make the Revalations of the Void more appealing by calling them ways of getting in touch with an inner "Lioness Power." Introducing set - eventually - as the consort of the Lioness.

    Searchers of Lore and Prophecies, Observers, Discoverers of other clan whereabouts.

    Cult of Thyphon Trismegistus
    'Typhonists' as they are also known. They employ a particular elaborate system of cults within cults. New recruits led to believe that they join a cult devoted to Bacchus, Mars, or Pluto. Each god representing one aspect of Set: the bringer of ecstatic madness, the warrior, and the lord of the undead. Eventually promising initiates learn that all three gods represent aspects of Typhon, the true object of their worship. Only acolytes with faultless devotion and fully imbibe the Typhonist doctrines of gnosis and overcoming desire. Many never quite grasp that secret doctrine and remain mere tempters and hedonists. Typhonists involve themselves in every aspect of the vice trade, some sponsoring gladiatorial-pit fights, where jaded Kindred and kine could thrill to real terror, blood, and death. Appalling to many setites who have spent centuries keeping a low profile. Never the less big money comes with the pit-fights. Stripping away the audience's pretensions of morality and provide splendid black mail opportunities.
    (Founding Temple, Cave of Apples)

    Abd'al-Sobek
    They revere Sobek as incarnation of the hunger of the Beast and promote indulgence and extremes wherever they find them, widening gaps between the rich and the poor and alienating both from each other. They admire the crocodile's hunger and hidden strength, and often infest territories that are already under Setite sway in order to prune them.

    Their Founding Temple stands in Faiyum, Egypt, and is reputedly home to the slumbering Sobek and a retinue of ghouled crocodiles that give prophecies from their tormented domitor. Sobek, if he exists at all, is rumored by the Clan elders to be a Mokolé Abomination, severed from Helios's grace by dark magic cast by Set himself, and damned to exist as an unholy mockery of all what his kind stands for.

    Hall of Jörmungandr
    Encourages an active worship. Still, the Hall of Jörmungandr gathered its followers, mostly retired Vikings who had plundered themselves enough riches that they could live without seafaring anymore. The Hall was once severed from contact with the Egyptian main Clan and continued to prosper in hiding, amassing fortune and resources. Now the "Hall of Jörmungandr" became a fashionably naughty night spot for artists, folklore enthusiasts, and assorted poseurs.

    Clan Variants

    The Followers of Set are not as uniform as their name leads observers to believe. They found that the best way to preach their doctrine and philosophy in certain lands was to use parallels to each culture's indigenous myths and legends. In many of the religions around the world, Setites found Gods that bore a striking resemblance to the Lord of Storms, and proclaimed that these were in fact "masks" of Set himself. When contact was lost to the original Temple, several of these lines proclaimed themselves independent, and only in the Modern Nights have the lines, using mortal infrastructure, started communicating with their Egyptian forebears.
    Like the castes of the Assamites, the Setites originally had a triumvirate system. The only surviving "caste" in the modern nights are the Priests, with the original Warrior caste having been supplanted and the Witches having gone extinct. All modern Setites are assumed to be members of the Priest caste unless otherwise specified.

    Daitya: The Holy Blasphemers
    ~Under construction~
    The Daitya are a heretical variant, whose founder traveled from Egypt to India in pursuit of ancient mystical knowledge and hunting the Children of Osiris
    Daitya perceive the current world as fundamentally flawed, so they seek to reboot it; the most fanatic among the Daitya claim that the means of doing so is to push the world over the brink into a nadir of purest evil, so that Shiva fully awakens to destroy the current world with his third eye, thereby setting the stage for the next cycle of existence. They defy the elders in Egypt and demand treatment as a full-fledged and independent Clan.

    Serpents of the Light
    ~Under construction~
    The Serpents of the Light (or "Cobras" as they became informally known) are committed to combating the Antediluvians, and believe Set to be among their enemies; they are considered traitors by other Setites. Apart from their ideological and spiritual beliefs, however, there are no significant differences between Cobras and their parent clan: they learn the same Disciplines, and share the same weakness to light.

    Manipulation by seduction is the tool of choice for the Serpents of the Light, who play a dangerous game of attack and counterattack against their Setite rivals with mortal pawns. Members of the bloodline wield weapons of addiction and decay. They are expert at discovering a target's weakness and using that tool – be it drugs, sex, power, or whatever – to gain control of the target.

    Warriors of Glycon
    ~Under construction~
    The Warriors of Glycon were a caste of the Setites during the Dark Ages that was later supplanted by the Warrior Setites.
    The Crooks dedicated themselves to a philosophy of the exaltation of violence. Strength was all that mattered to them. In the triumvirate system of the old Clan, they saw themselves as the body, the priests as the mind, and the witches as the soul. Viewing themselves as the leaders of the Clan, they were blind before the intrigues of the priests that led to their demise.

    The Warriors of Glycon had a weakness that made them obsessed with power, either through outright destruction or defeating enemies and putting them under the Blood Bond.

    Warrior Setites
    ~Under construction~
    The Warrior Setites are a specialized branch of the main Clan that came into existence after the end of the Warriors of Glycon. Claiming to play the original role of the clan as enforcers of Set, these Warrior Setites act as bodyguards and assassins for the main clan. They are proud and brutal soldiers for Set, and are perfectly willing to go into battle to back up their subtler brethren.
    A mortal Embraced by a Viper becomes a "normal" member of the line (that is, learning Obfuscate as a Clan Discipline) unless trained as a warrior from childe-hood. The line is therefore an example of how training and ideology can change the basic makeup of a vampire's Clan.

    Witches of Echidna
    ~Under construction~
    The Witches of Echidna were a caste of the Setites during the Dark Ages that were thought to have gone extinct. But some were able to survive in secrecy until the modern day, joining the Ministry and the Anarchs.
    In contrast to the priests, the Gorgons dedicated themselves to a "mother of monsters" that they saw as the natural religion of their Clan. This figure was first revealed to mankind in northern Greece and named Echidna. Other primal serpent figures, like Ophion, Jörmungandr, Pytho, Hydra, and Draco, were seen as aspects of the mother. The witches divined the omens of their own downfall and of that of the Warriors.

    The weakness of the Witches was that Echidna would manifest herself in her servants during Frenzy, resulting in an Appearance drop to zero during the Frenzy. In addition, each time a Witch used or consumed blood, Echidna "consumed" a point at the end of the scene. The only exception to this rule was the use of Setite Sorcery.

    Children of Damballah
    Might not fit as they are against the over path of Thyphon
    Damballans wish to delay that reckoning as long as they can. They have done their best to downplay reports of their deviant actions and beliefs, pay lip service to Set and his resurrection, and make offerings whenever possible.

    Culture

    The mission of the Followers of Set can be stated in a single word: corruption. They seek to subvert and destroy whatever is good, noble, safe or beautiful within both Kindred and mortal society. They are plotters without peer, with an unequalled genius for misdirection and temptation. Their favorite weapons include drugs, sex, money, power, and vice in all its aspects.
    But for most of the Followers of Set, this corruption is just a means to an end. They believe in a radical split between the divine, eternal soul and the corrupt, transitory world and body. The laws of their faith say that deep down, the soul knows it does not belong in a prison of matter. Anything that distracts the soul from this knowledge and ties it to the world must be a trap – and if the world is a prison, then the gods must be its jailers. To achieve liberation, a soul must shed all the false doctrines, cravings and habits that bind it and blind it. Such self-awareness cannot come from mere argument or faith. Only direct experience of the most extreme sort can break the hold of the gods over the soul and allow liberation. Through these experiences, the Setites believe they can achieve truly divine power over the world and liberate themselves from every physical and spiritual constraint, as they already have taken the first steps out of the prison when they received the Embrace.
    It took the Setites some time to accept that they and other vampires are indeed a related, if not the same, species, and some Elders are still not wholly convinced. Vampires of other Clans were originally seen as pawns of other Egyptian gods, arranged against Set, or the work of evil spirits from the Underworld, who shared nothing with them but the fact that they too existed in both the material world and the afterlife. Befitting a Clan that holds truth as a tool of false gods, multiple explanations for their state were accepted. During the Dark Ages, common doctrine was that their akh, the "essence", has already descended to Duat, but that their bodies, through the waters of death (vitae), were still inhabited by their ba (personality) and ka (life essence).[5][6] Other systems, mainly used in Akhu, prescribed a detailed system centered around the nine-fold soul, with the khat as the body, the ba as one component of vitae, the ab as Humanity, the khaibit as the Beast, and the sekhem as another part of vitae, along with the other ka (the astral self), ren (the true name), khu (the aura) and sahu (the indestructible part of the soul, rumored by some Setites to later serve Set as a Sebau).[7]
    As the oldest of the four independent clans, with a lineage directly traceable to a mighty Antediluvian (though there are those who dispute the clan's account of its own history), the Followers of Set are not without respect among the Kindred. At one point, after long and divisive debate, they were invited to join the Camarilla. This invitation was, by and large, ignored by the Setites (to the great relief of many in the Camarilla). Nonetheless, the Camarilla, and sometimes even the Sabbat, often seek out the Followers of Set in an effort to secure their aid in some complex intrigue or another. For this reason, the Setites are generally regarded as a necessary evil within Cainite society. In recent centuries, the Setites have achieved notable success in the Caribbean, where they are in direct control of many of the most feared and powerful Haitian secret societies and Jamaican posses. These organizations, in turn, control much of the international drug trade. The Setites are also rumored to have absolute control over at least one Near Eastern terrorist group.
    The iconic serpent imagery used by the Clan is theorized by some scholars to be only prominent since the ascent of the Abrahamic religions, since Set is traditionally not associated with them. Older Setites are known to act irritated by the constant association with snakes, although several have wholeheartedly adopted the imagery for their own gain.

    Embraces

    Prospective childer for the Followers of Set often spend some time involved with a Setite cult, so they are indoctrinated in the mysteries of the Clan before becoming one of its Kindred. They may come from any cultural origin, though many are outsiders, loners, or otherwise marginalized by society, which is often what led them to the forbidden fruits offered by the cult of Set in the first place. Interestingly, Setites count their generation from Set, so their generation is often stated to be two steps lower than the standard counting method that derives vampires from Caine (a fourth generation methuselah would be noted as a member of the Second Generation within the Clan).[9]
    Another facet is that some Followers of Set are not actually Embraced as Followers of Set. Rather, they are vampires from other Clans that have passed all their mysteries, accepted Set as their true god and have been formally inducted into the cult. While such vampires do not shed their original Clan or Clan Curse (a Ventrue converted to Set will still Embrace Ventrue childer and have a peculiar inclination towards his prey), they are taught Serpentis and Setite Sorcery, as well as their Paths of Enlightenment, freely. A convert from another Clan is not treated as a second-class citizen, but rather as a sibling of faith, which is a much more important distinction than blood. An outsider accepting the Dark God is a joyous event, even to the most conservative elder. There are even rumors of non-Kindred supernatural beings joining the cult.

    Disiplines

    Obfuscate:: a Discipline that allows vampires to conceal themselves, deceive the mind of others, or make them ignore what the user does not want to be seen.

    Standard Powers
    Cloak of Shadows [1]: Remain hidden so long as you do not move

    Unseen Presence [2]: Become invisible to others so long as you do not attract attention

    Vanish/Fade from the Mind's Eye [4]: Disappear right from in front of someone

    Cloak the Gathering [5]: Extend your Obfuscate powers to a group

    ~~~
    Presence:: is the Discipline of supernatural allure and emotional manipulation which allows Kindred to attract, sway, and control crowds.
    Standard Powers
    Awe [1]: Awe is simple but solid. Once the vampire employs this power, those who are near him or her either want to be closer to him or her or shudder in fear. It is an immediate and intense attraction, but temporal and not so overpowering that those afflicted lose their sense of self-preservation. Danger breaks the spell of fascination, as does leaving the area. Victims will remember how they felt, though, and this will affect their reactions should they ever encounter the vampire again. Awe is extremely useful in mass communication. It does not matter what is said – the hearts of those affected will lean towards the user's opinion.
    Dread Gaze [2]: This power engenders unbearable terror in its victims. Dread Gaze, like the legendary hypnotism of the cobra, stupefies the victim into madness, immobility, or reckless flight. To use this power, the vampire merely shows the mark of Caine upon him or her – bearing claws and teeth, hissing loudly and with malice. Any vampire can do this, but students of this Discipline are more insanely terrifying than mere sight can explain.
    Entrancement [3]: The Kindred makes someone obsessively want to please them.
    Summon [4]: The Kindred compels someone to come to them immediately.
    Majesty [5]: The Kindred appears as a figure of absolute power and authority. Where a charismatic, skilled vampire with Awe [1] may impress at a street corner, or drink undisturbed in a back alley, the power of Majesty [5] can influence an area of effect like a small concert hall or theater full of people.
    ~~~

    Serpentis:: is the trademark Discipline of the Followers of Set clan. It primarily provides shapechanging abilities, though it also encompasses corruption and other characteristics associated with snakes.

    Standard Powers

    The Eyes of the Serpent [1]: Immobilize someone with your gaze
    Enchanting Gaze [1]: Gain an alluring feature that can draw people to the vampire
    The Tongue of the Asp [2]: Grow a extended tongue that serves as a weapon
    Typhonic Maw [2]: Extend the jaws up to the chest, as well as growing pointed teeth and a forked tongue
    Mummify [3]: Go into a torpor-like state and be nearly indestructible
    Skin of the Adder [3]: Grow hardened monstrous skin that protects you
    Serpent's Flesh [3]: The vampire becomes more flexible and her skin toughens
    The Form of the Cobra [4]: Transform into a large venomous snake
    Typhonic Avatar [4]: Assume the form of the "Typhonic Beast", either as an animal or as a human-animal hybrid
    Cheat the Scale of Anubis [5]: Remove your heart, making you immune to staking, or remove all your organs and become nearly indestructible
    The Heart of Darkness [5]: Remove your heart from your body, making you immune to staking
    Mother of Monsters [5]: Spawn monsters from your own flesh that act as your servants

    Bane::
    Abhors the Light
    Compulsion::
    Transgression

    Stereotypes

    Assamite::

    Brujah:: When their destructiveness is guided where it can do the most damage, these violent little fools can be quite entertaining.

    Gangrel:: Warriors. Incredibly brave, amazingly tough, murderously powerful as individuals - and completely ineffectual as a group.

    Giovanni:: We do not need to corrupt them and bring them under our control; the Giovanni do a fine job corrupting themselves

    Lasombra:: Their fierce ambition makes them almost laughably easy to exploit.

    Malkavian:: Do not make the mistake of underestimating the childer of Malkav. Most difficult to guide unto the wisdom of Our Lord.

    Nosferatu:: Their information network is second to none

    Ravnos:: Untrustworthy, enigmatic, and dangerous.

    Toreador:: Despicable fools who consider themselves superios to other vampires because of their art.

    Tremere:: Forgive any small offenses they might commit in his ignorance.Seek his understanding, not his destruction.

    Tzimisce:: Arrogant and self reliant.

    Ventrue:: Most despicable, trusties of this prison of a world.

    Locations

    The "Pyramid"
    -There is no Pyramid to be seen above the ground, in fact it won’t even occur to be part of such a grand building. At surface level amid the city the lighting from a small shop, to trade, sell, barter, and buy a collection of texts, trinkets, and baubles. Coiled Curiosities. A shop of many things and at night more than just a mere shop.
    There is a lower level to cater to the darker dealings of the clan.
    Even lower still worship and meeting halls. Anyone in the clan is allowed up to here and to the next floor for anyone who wants to live onsite, lavish rooms available to the Setites.
    At the lowest level lives the Disciple. A tomb made home. If called down, it won’t be for no simple reason. He leaves his home now closed to all, only what held dear may reside.

    Coiled Curiosities
    -Abanaub’s little shop front. Run 24hrs a day. Mortal and Kin alike welcome, and whether for simple needs or a vice they just might have what you are looking for, if not the exact thing, information to obtain it for the right price.

    Other Places of Importance
    Under construction
    -Hall of Jörmungandr
