He had suspected that she didn’t quite own anything like he described. Though if she felt it necessary to make a shopping trip out of it it couldn’t be helped. Although the idea of her bringing a pair or two of her stilettos sent a thrill up his spine. Romeo really did enjoy how she looked wearing them though he enjoyed pretty much everything he had seen her in. And maybe he’s get too enjoy seeing her out of them too. It certainly wasn’t off the table. Especially if they were left alone to their own devices out there in seclusion.

Giving a light chuckle. If she decided to show them off and only the shoes he would most certainly come undone. He was a man after all and when presented with a lovely lady, let alone one only wearing her heels, the temptation to go a little further than what they had so far would be so very very tempting. All gentlemen had their weaknesses and Eloisa was quickly becoming one of his.

Romeo would move heaven and earth to make their little get away happen. Even if just for a few days.

“An after party would be nice.” He had to agree. If all went well afterall. His father had made mention of perhaps attending the party which was something the Ancilla hadn’t expected. Rafaele Machiavelli was a very very busy man making sure a Cappadocian uprising didn’t happen and knock their clan from their seats of power. He would be quick to remind you of his work and tell you that you were welcome for the unlife you lived unfettered and unmolested by what remained of their parent clan. Though with whispers of their Disciples return he had expected his father to be heavily occupied with that.

So far he had not spotted him.

“I enjoy our private talks as well, Bella. Having you all to myself brings me great joy and pleasure.” It was the truth. Anytime he could spend with her alone was time well spent in his mind. And he really hoped they could spend more time together in the future. He smiled at the hand on his back and the fingers tracing along his chest. Yea t wasn’t hard to tell that beneath that well tailored suit was a form that was lean and muscular. Romeo cut a rather impressive figure even with all the layers he wore on a regular basis.

———

Rain couldn’t help the little smug smirk that came to his lips, his oleasure reaching his eyes to crinkle the corners just a little. “Gods forbid you get a little dirty, Meine Liebe. At least you enjoy yourself.” He, of course, enjoyed their messes. But thankfully Rainier wasn’t quite as high maintenance like the Milliner was. His work kept him behind the scenes, mostly unseen but also cutting an imposing figure more than an impressive one. Though one could could say he really didn’t need to primp and worry too much about looking good. The Koenig could literally roll out of bed, run his fingers through his dark red hair and he ready to go. Though part of him suspected even that might be something that changed in his unlife.

Being Ricco’s husband probably brought a bit of expectation that he would have to navigate but he certainly would never appear unkempt. Emberassing Ricco that way was not high on his list of priorities if at all. But Rainier could appreciate the Milliner’s efforts to look good. He was of the opinion that it didn’t matter what state Ricco was in he was handsome. Gorgeous. Sexy.

His jaw set but quickly eased and Rain sighed internally to his love’s mild agitation to his words. Perhaps he had chosen the wrong ones in his attempt to assure him that everything would be fine. Making a small mental note for himself later. Though the thought of all eyes being on him when they returned made him just the tiniest bit uncomfortable. But it wouldn’t be helped, not when he would come waltzing back in on Ricco’s arm. But then of course people would be looking. Gazing upon him with envy at the blatant fact that the handsome Milliner was his and his alone now.

As they entered the mansion once again he could breathe a sigh of relief. Everyone was preoccupied with their own interests so he wouldn’t garner very much attention for the time being. Though there were a few who gazed upon the pair with covetous looks. Mortals roamed about and his gaze swept through the throng. Ricco’s words causing his head to turn to regard him. Rain didn’t have much of a type in the way of food. He’d never had that luxury to develop one. You are what was available or you didn’t eat at all. Though he supposed if he had to pick one a mortal would darker hair would be a suitable preference. For obvious reasons. “The only person I see that interests me would be you, Meine Liebe. Though not for eating of course. At least in that way.” The look that crossed his features was almost impish.

"And how long shall I prepare to be away, bello?" Eloisa asked, still letting her hands trail over what parts of him she could reach. She really would have stayed curled up with him beneath that beautiful tree for the rest of the night she could. Hell, if she were honest, she would have pushed him back against that trunk and started the after-party early. Muss up that fine suit of his, just a little, and let him give his voice a little rest.

As much as Eloisa enjoyed a good conversation, there were some times she preferred her lips be preoccupied with other entertainments.

Ah, but if they were to have a little time well and truly alone out in the country, perhaps she could excite his anticipation. As nice as it was here at this party, she was all too well aware that anyone could come seeking the Machiavelli out, or one of her sisters might stumble upon her hideaway and decide to invite themselves to the party. No, as badly as she wanted to stay, she knew they'd need return lest they offend their very Disciple -- and that was no good for any of them. So it was, Eloisa couldn't let herself get too comfortable, but hopefully, this was just the beginning of their time together.

Lifting her head from his shoulder, Eloisa leaned up to press a few soft kisses against up his neck, and beneath his ear. It was nice to get to savor his scent, and the soft skin that peaked out from beneath his collar. If she'd thought she'd be in the lap of a Machiavelli a month ago, she would have laughed aloud at such a silly thought -- but here she was.

"Were you hungry at all?" She asked, lips pressing lightly against his ear to give it a little nuzzle, followed by a few kisses. Gods knew, Eloisa was more than happy to feast on her present company--however, she'd hate to keep him from the bounty Augustus had offered them.

Giving a small smile at his words, at his confession that having her to himself brought him such joy, Eloisa couldn't help but let her fangs slip out from beneath her lips. "Then I shall hope to make a hedonist of you, Signore." She'd give him all the joy and pleasure he could handle whenever they could find some actual privacy. And maybe, just maybe, he'd become a bit of a glutton. A girl could only hope.

---

Ricco couldn't help but be who he was, and when all was said and done, he became terribly fastidious. The two of them made quite a duo, as they certainly could be day and night -- Rainier didn't have much by way of dress code in his line of work, where Ricco knew a deal could be made or broken based on the first seconds of seeing one another.

It was indeed likely that the two would sometimes clash when it came what to wear to a certain event; poor Rain would indeed need to get comfortable in actual layers from time-to-time. However, Ricco wasn't looking to change him, and he did rather like that fur-lined jacket, and his bare chest. He loved Rain just as he was, and had little desire to force him into some sort of mold. There might well be some times Rain would need to slip into some three-piece suit, but Ricco would always be eager to help him out of it come the end of the night.

Back in the mansion, Ricco let his eyes swept over the individuals who were present. He took note of a few faces -- pausing on one at the bar. Was that Rafaele Macchiavelli? Well, color him surprise. Either he'd overlooked him earlier, or he'd come in later. This night was certainly drawing in quite the crowd, but of course it would, with Augustus awake and now mingling among the people.

Ah, but the beauty on his arm commanded his attention, and he was more than happy to turn his eyes back to him. He lifted a brow, but a devilish smile crossed his features. Leaning down, he spoke quietly, words meant only for him. "Then I shall let you gorge on me to your hearts content, Meine Mond," and that was a promise. Later, of course, when they were more comfortably situated. "For now though, we could have quite the sampling." The dining room was particularly curious, with blood right on tap. How charming. For the vampire who had little time or inclination to hunt, or in his case, further muss his suit. "Get a little energy for what's to come." Gods knew their night was certainly not ending even when the party was over.

The Ancilla looked thoughtful for a brief moment. How long could he get away with stealing Eloisa away to their country estate? Surely she couldn’t be away from her shop for too long and he would eventually need to return to his own business as well. It couldn’t be help. There was always more business that could be dealt with, more information to gather, more deals to make. Some days it got tiresome but now…..now he has something else to help preoccupy his mind during the doldrum of work. Something to look forward to when he had a bit of free time. I’d Eloisa Puttanesca was not busy herself at least. Romeo could always swing by her shop abs see if he could catch her on break. “I would say a few days at the very least? Longer? Less?” He tried to gauge her reaction to his comment. If she was expecting more or less time that he had originally thought.

He just wanted to show her a good time.

Ah, but he hoped she was having a good time sitting here with him. She hadn’t moved from his lap so the Machiavelli took it as a good sign at least that she was. The press of her fingers against his chest and the weight of her body as she leaned against him was nice. The hand on her hand sliding casually down to her waste so that he could rest his hand on her hip. His mind wandering to thoughts about what she might look like under that dress. What a vision she must be with her hair down, her naked body pressed against a plush bed and pillows. They way her body would move. How her mouth looked when she….

No. He had to stop that line of thinking. But she made it difficult when she was right there. Sitting in his lap. His thoughts could wander to all of that later when he was alone. He might have been a high class man but even high class men had needs and thoughts such as those.

Her voice brought him out of the moment and grey eyes focused on her once again. She had asked if he was hungry at all to which he shook his head. “No I am quite alright. How about you? We can always return inside if you need something? I promise not to jump right into business talk.” Romeo crossed his heart. “Though it would be inevitable and simply unavoidable for too long. I suspect most are busy with their own machinations.

———

Rain’s gold gaze swept around the room. Taking note of where people were at or going too. There was certainly a decrease in the number of those still milling about in the main foyer. Likely the others had wandered off. He made note of the new face at the bar that seemed to have caught Ricco’s attention. The tall, muscular frame. A perfectly proportioned face framed by wavy locks of white hair and stormy grey eyes. Rafaele Machiavelli cut an impressive figure wherever he went. Rain had only seen the man two other times when he had done some information gathering for the Machiavelli ORG. The man was extremely busy so seeing him here tonight was yet another surprise of the evening.

“Some interesting faces tonight.” He commented off handedly. Not mentioning anyone in particular but he was sure Ricco knew who he was speaking of. Rafaele was one of the most important people when it came to the subjugation and eradication of the Cappadocians next to his brother Edon. Everyone knew how much favor the Machiavelli curried favor. From the Antediluvians to the youngest of fledglings. The brutal hunt and decimation the Machiavelli family had brought to the parent clan was very note worthy indeed. On the outside the Machiavelli were the epitome of refinement and grace but beneath the surface something dark and sinister lurked. Rafaele ran the ORG while Edon ran the family. They were a power house in their own rights. Though it seemed the younger brother’s work was never really done. Some could say he worked himself into paranoia to prevent the Capps from returning to take retribution upon them. And so far that had not happened yet. Because of that one, singular man.

But then Augustus’ return seemed to draw many here this night.

He tightened his grip on his love’s arm as the other male’s attention returned to him. A devilish smile coming to those lips as he leaned in to speak words only for him. A dangerous flash of mischief and desire in his gold eyes. “I will certainly hold you to that later, meine geliebte.” Yes. Once they got home he would feast upon him. Ravish Ricco until he begged him to stop. And Rain could only hope that he wouldn’t do such a thing in the slightest. Or maybe he did wish for him to beg only to deny him respit.

Glancing towards the dining room he eyed the blood fountains that were still brimming with what seemed like an endless supply of blood. Tilting his head slightly he smiled. “Alright.”

Eloisa was surprised when he finally suggested a few days. She had thought perhaps he might only wish to have her there for the night, perhaps not even a fully day., so to be offered a few days was perfect for Eloisa. If he was hoping for a reaction, the Puttanesca wouldn't disappoint -- her blue eyes brightened immediately, at her smile was full to the brim with pleasure at his suggestion. "I think that sounds perfect, bello. Long enough for us to spend some quality time, but short enough that should we drive one another crazy, we needn't suffer for long. An ideal time away, don't you think?" She asked with a teasing wink.

Honestly, she would have loved to spend as much time away with him as she could. The idea of a longer trip sounded all the better, but she knew she'd need to return to the salon; and she was certain Romeo would need to focus on his own work. She didn't want to be a problem or burden, and she certainly didn't need her brother or worse, her father, "However, I'll pad out a fourth night out, just to give us time for a leisurely return, if we wish it," she added. Or, if things really went well, they could extend their stay a day -- there would be no harm in it. Franny would be fine, and she could have Addie assist.

Surely, they wouldn't begrudge her a little time away. Even if fingers needed breaking, or VIPs needed a n****e torn off with wax to get them warmed up to talk, that could always be done by Franny alone, or with Addie. Goodness knew her little sister could use a little practice in the art of making vampires squeal in pain..

But that was neither here nor there. She'd be able to return and jump back into work without missing a beat, and could make up her absence to Franny in other ways. Perhaps her sister would have a hot date lined up, or want a few nights to herself. She'd work it out with her later. She didn't want to leave Francesca in the lurch, after all...

Romeo did seem a bit lost in thought, though she didn't take it personally. He was a pensive kind of man, with his business and books and duties. She did stop her string of kisses, getting little response. Perhaps he wasn't a neck man, or he simply had other things to think about. At least he didn't seem to be in any hurry to leave or in any rush to return. "Ah, no--I'm quite happy to linger if you are. I was worried I might be holding you up," she confessed. "Or, to be more accurate," she glanced down, before giving a small laugh and a rueful grin, "Weighing you down." Never mind he had already proven that he could lift her with ease.

"But I'm certainly in no rush, bello, if you aren't. You've been nothing but a delight." Even when he was conducting business and it went right over her head, he never made her feel like a third-wheel or obligation.

"Some interesting faces, indeed," he agreed. "Aber Ihres ist das attraktivste von allen," he added, giving his hand a squeeze. And that was true. Even the red-haired vampire god himself couldn't draw his gaze the way Rainier did. Certainly, the great god was one to fear, as well as one to respect -- his power was unlike anything he'd ever felt, and Ricco did not wish to draw the god's attention. But even with all that strength; even with Augustus himself making his way through the crowd; even with all the upper-ups crammed in a single mansion, he still only wanted to gaze upon Rain.

What could he say?

He was twitterpated. More than that, he was madly in love, and no longer needed to hide it. Certainly, he would keep his demonstrativeness in check as best he could; he did not wish to share with the world what he'd granted Rain and Rain alone. But some of it couldn't be helped -- the little smiles, the quiet words of affection. It was hard not to look like a man in love, especially after all their time apart, and the fact Rain now wore his rings.

"So much to do this night. Yes, a bite or two might well serve us both," he encouraged, drawing him over to the dining room. The fountain was exquisite, and certainly made quite an impressive display. He walked Rain down the rows of men and women, pausing now and then to look at on in particular, as if he were judging some sort of drink. Vitae was vitae, but that didn't mean each mortal tasted the very same. "If none are to your satisfaction, I'm happy for us to keep browsing. We might well lure one in the garden, or down in the ballroom." Only the best for Rain would do. To be able to walk right up to a mortal and simply feast was an unusual change to his night of hunting. But not necessarily unpleasant in the least.

Well... Not unpleasant to the Giovanni. Hopefully, the enchantment they were under was strong, because their bite was a painful death sentence. But there were no screams, no gasps, though he saw plenty feasting and gorging themselves silly.

The brightness in her blue eyes was endearing. Perhaps she had not expected him to offer so many days. He very well could have made it a one night thing or maybe not even a full day. But as a gentleman Romeo wasn’t quite into one night stands. No, for Eloisa that kind of thing just would not do. Her lovely face made him want to worship at her stilettoed feet. Take the time to properly appreciate her. And I’d they spent most of their time in bed well, it just couldn’t be helped. She seemed to bring out that side in him whenever she was near. Any time he got a word of her perfume or saw her glowing smile.

Romeo just wanted her to feel good the way she made him feel good and more.

Ah but they would have to return sometime. If Marius wasn’t there already surely his father was. Perhaps he could introduce Eloisa to him. Or perhaps he might wait. Edon’s response, though veiled, was a bit telling. And while Eloisa was not as familiar with his uncle to pick up the subtleties in his words Romeo knew the man as well as he knew his uncle. No, perhaps tonight was not the night for it. He knew Rafaele had more important things on his mind than who Romeo had on his arm that night.

When her kisses stopped he blinked. While his mind had been wandering he still had a small grasp on what was going on around him. It was easy for his mind to multi task. Rummage through his thoughts while he thoroughly enjoyed her lips against his skin. Lifting the hand in which the gift encircled her wrist he kissed her palm and each finger tip. Assuring her that he was indeed paying attention to her affections.

A chuckle rulbled deep in his chest. Thanks to his vampiric strength Eloisa practically weighed nothing. So her sitting in his lap did little to weigh him down. He could easily slip an arm beneath her lovely legs and lift her as he stood in one sweeping motion if he so desired. Carrying her in his arms until she wiggled to be placed on her feet once more. Carrying her around like that, almost as if she were a true damsel of old, was romantic in its own right. Sweeping a woman off her feet quite literally.

“Then let us linger here a moment more.” He placed a finger beneath her chin and lifted her face up. Grey eyes slipped half closed as he leaned down to press his lips gently against her own.

—-

Rain gave a little quiet laugh, tilting his head ever so slightly . “Schmeichler.” Ricco would of course deny the word, claiming that what he had said was true. And while Rainier knew he was a good looking man he wasn’t quite that vain about it. Most vampires, especially Giovanni had a lovely little quality about them that made them all rather attractive. Weither this was a trait they had developed and bred into over time to help draw in mortals to make it easier to feed he couldn’t say, but it was a likely theory and just made sense.

Still, what Rafaele Machiavelli was doing here made him curious. The Machiavellis rarely did anything on a whim. From what he knew every move made by them had purpose. So Rafaele being here had purpose. A reason behind it. Perhaps he was on the trail of some in house betrayal and wanted to let the guilty party know that he was closing in. It could certainly scare any vampire shitless. The younger brother’s brutality could quite literally rival his older brother’s in spades. But those were all tales. Tales that had a larger kernel of truth he was sure.

But now he was starting to let his thoughts wander when he should have been focusing of choosing a mortal for them to dine on.

Having so many choices at hand was odd. Normally he went with whatever he could catch. He t was true not all mortals tasted the same. It depended on their lifestyle, what they ate that flavored their vitae. Sometimes you’d stumble upon someone rather delicious and other times it was so-so but you still drank because you needed to to survive. Rain let himself be lead down the row of mortals that sat at the table eyeing them one by one.

They could hunt, but part of the hunt was the thrill of the chase. And Rainier suspected that these mortals, so subservient and docile ar the current time, would give little thought to running away in fear. Merely standing there, doe eyed and complacent. As the stopped at a darker haired male Rain’s eyes lidded halfway. No, not quite. Given the option now to choose none of them seemed to his liking. Who knew he had such a particular taste. “Let’s keep looking. Don’t let me stop you from choosing someone as well, Meine Liebe.” If Ricco fancied a particular mortal that was all well and fine by Rainier. Though if neither of them choose soon they would end up starving to death he was sure. Amusement shining in those gold eyes of his at the thought of them in an endless loop of indecision and wanting the other to be happy with a choice. Maybe having so many options was a little bit difficult in the end.

It was difficult even now to extract his thoughts fully away from the encounter that had just occurred between himself and his father. Though Nico had years upon years of practice in dealing with Riccardo’s unique brand of disappointment and vitriol, there were still times when the head of the Puttanesca family got well under his skin. Perhaps if the elder hadn’t caught his son by surprise he could have been ready for the insulting words. Or better yet, Nico could have just avoided him altogether, such as had been his plan from the very start. However, the encounter probably could have gone a lot worse than it had, though Nico was sure that it only hadn’t because there were too many eyes on them.

At least he had that.

But he couldn’t go back and change anything else now. He needed to pull himself back into the present. He was here, outside, with Matteo wrapped up in his arms, the blonde like a beacon of warmth and sunshine in Nico’s unlife of darkness. He could make the darker-haired vampire feel better with only a few words or just by existing in the near vicinity, which was precisely what the ancilla needed right now. Negative feelings began to melt away. The tension between his shoulder blades eased by increments. A niggling pain behind his left eye began to dull and fade, a pain that often arrived when the heir of Puttanesca’s anger flared. He wondered if they could just stay like this for the rest of the evening, and when Matteo turned in his arms and looked up at him, Nico felt that familiar tug on his heart that always managed to bring a smile to the paler vampire's lips.

He let his own icy gaze be drawn down into the honey-golden warmth of Matteo’s and let the way the younger vampire's fingers play with the hair at the nape of his neck be a welcome distraction. However, even as Matteo spoke, and Nico listened and nodded along with bemusement, he began to feel an odd sensation tingle along his skin, raising the hair along his arms. He shivered, his brow furrowing slightly as he cast a glance behind him, back toward the house.

“Do you…do you feel that?” He asked as the sensation grew until he realized exactly what it was.

It was power, just a trickle at first, but soon a wave of it, washing over and through him like a shockwave. A power that flooded him at first, charging every fibre of his being while illuminating his essence. Briefly, Nico’s eyes glowed, a shimmer of blue as vibrant as the daytime sky they were not able to enjoy, and he gasped.

It ended as quickly as it began, but though the wave had receded, a feeling of renewed strength remained. It shone in Nico’s eyes and filled him with invigoration. The distant background noise of the party back at the house had dimmed and quieted considerably in that time, and Nico blinked, suddenly realizing what that must mean, though at that moment, with Matteo still held within his arms, he wasn’t sure how much he cared.

“The party might be moving along without us.” He spoke slowly and searched Matteo’s gaze as he continued to hold him, fingertips beginning to press against the blonde’s lower back, drawing him closer. “Which means we’re probably missing the appearance of our Disciple.” A small smile followed this.

“I would understand if you’d like to go back inside now, but I think…I think I would rather just stay out here with you.”

When the exchange between Nico and his father had occurred Matteo had watched. Taking in all the subtleties he could pick out. It was a skill he used quite often in his job at LUX. You could learn a lot if you were silent and just observed. But he knew not to make any comment on it. It certainly could have gone a lot worse. What if his grandmother had been near? He knew her opinions of the Puttanesca, he knew little of the reputation of its head. Gossip pools ran wild and while he couldn’t be certain anything he gleaned was true, just by looking at the man he knew he didn’t like him. And as much as Nico tried to downplay it he could read the mild distress that leaked through the mask of indifference he tried to wear.

But all he could do was to try his best to take his mind off of it. Give him something different to think about. Him for example. That was easy enough. Matteo could be the most charming and uplifting person he needed to be for him. The blond was naturally upbeat and in good spirits, there was little that upset him or crushed his spirit and certainly no strained exchange from a man that didn’t matter to him was going to cause him to loose any sleep.

Matteo’s words were suddenly cut off as he felt the surge of power too. His own eyes lit up to a golden color and gooseflesh spread across his skin. It was a subtle surge that washed over him like a wave crashing against the shore. He tilted his head slightly as his gaze flickered past Nico back to the mansion. “What was that?” He knew Nico probably didn’t have the answer but when he mentioned that the Disciple had probably arrived and everything was moving on without them he…..really couldn’t care that much to move. Not out of disinterest, no. When Matteo had been born Augustus was already sleeping so all he had were stories and paintings to put to the name but not the man himself. And while curious about him and what was going on now that a hush had descended upon the party inside he just wanted to stay here with Nico’s arms wrapped around him, holding him close.

Giving a small shake of his head he smiled. His eyes lighting up at the dark haired vampire’s words. While what was going on inside was probably important he was prioritizing Matteo over it. “I’d rather stay out here with you, too. It’s still early we can go back whenever. If anything important happens I’m sure someone can fill us in. Your sisters are there right?” Sure, they might get an earful for missing it but right now with his body pressed against the others he would take all the earfuls and then some later to just stay here.

Delicate fingers slipped around Nico’s tie and as Matteo rose to his top toes he pulled the other down so that he could press his lips against his own. His tongue swiping along his bottom lip as he encouraged Nico to open his mouth and give him access so that he might deepen that kiss. Hoping to ease his mind a little more.

Eloisa honestly had no idea what Romeo might plan at his getaway. In fact, though she could imagine all sorts of fun the two of them could get up to, given how much a gentleman the Machiavelli's were known to be, she wasn't sure what his expectation was. Perhaps their time would be full of nothing but hand-holding and shared kisses beneath a star-filled sky -- she honestly didn't know when a gentleman was able to hang up his hat and allow her brand of trouble to consume him. Maybe she'd get to find out...

And if not, that was fine too.

She liked him and it had nothing to do with his family name or position within the Giovanni. That he'd chosen a bench in front of he salon was nothing but luck -- where might they have been had he not decided to stop? Well, life was a game of chance, and Eloisa wasn't the sort to give much thought to the what-ifs. No, if anything, she was certain it was simply kismet -- and they were exactly where fate wanted them to be.

The kisses upon her hand, felt nice, and she brushed the pad of her thumb against his the side of his cheek, and jawline as he moved from tip to tip. Perhaps he wasn't so disinterested as she'd imagined. Not that she blamed him -- he did have an important position, and from all the business talk she'd listened to, probably had much on his mind and shoulders. Eloisa had no expectations that she would dominate or take up many of his thoughts -- a small few would be enough to appease her. However, like any predator, if she might commandeer a few more if the opportunity presented herself, she would quite greedy.

Like now.

When he lifted up her chin, Eloisa was more happy to oblige. Her own eyes fell closed, and she pressed against his lip, a soft kiss for such a magical night. But she wouldn't let it remain so. if he wanted to linger a moment more, Eloisa would be more than happy to draw the time out. She let her tongue slip out against his lips, encouraging them to part, feeding him the softest of moans. See? She could be quiet when she had to be...

The hand that spored his beautiful gift, reached up to stroke the side of his face, before caressing her fingers over his ear, and threading them through his hair. Who needed vitae when she had kisses to feast upon?

----
Rain was indeed correct, before as soon as the words slipped out of his mouth, Ricco had to object. "Das ist wahr! Ich habe nur Augen für dich." From the very first. Certainly, the Giovanni were known to be an attractive lot, but so were plenty of vampires. Beauty was a dime a dozen it seemed, except when it came to Rain. The moment he'd laid eyes upon him, he felt struck, and that feeling had only grown with time. "Ihre Schönheit verblasst jetzt, wo du angekommen bist, denn du überstrahlst sie alle." And that was the truth. Rainier might not be vain, but Ricco could and would still worship at his altar. He was biased, but that didn't make his words any less true.

Similar to Rainier, Ricco was rather unaccustomed to the offerings. Some vampires, it seemed, had little trouble simply choosing the first one who drew near. But now that they had an opportunity to browse the selection, it felt like getting the opportunity of choosing a drink at the bar. It was all alcohol, but depending on your choice, the flavor of the drink would change. Given the options available, he now felt certain that he'd know what to nab as soon as he saw it.

The smell of blood did help whet his appetite, and he could feel his Beast stirring. Part of him was happy to simply grab and take the first mortal who drifted too close -- but no. He wanted to find something they both might enjoy.

"Let's see what we find elsewhere," he encouraged, drawing him out of the dining room. The gardens might give the feeling of being more on the hunt, and there seemed be a few dewy eyed mortals moving among the plants. "I'll let you know if something catches my eye -- though honestly, anything will do. I'm sure they're all top shelf."

Romeo may have been a bit old fashioned but even he had needs and while hand holding and starlit kisses were all well and good. Sometimes situations called for just a little more than that. Especially when you were attempting to woo one in the process. But who knew what might happen once they got there. “Does next week work for you?” If not they could certainly pick another time but he wanted to whisk her away as soon as he could.

He liked Eloisa. He f that wasn’t apparent then perhaps he wasn’t trying hard enough. What family she came from didn’t matter to him. What her profession didn’t matter. Whether or not she had money didn’t matter. He liked her for her and that was it. She made him smile and invaded his thoughts when he sat alone in silence. And he couldn’t help but think ahead to what might await them in the future if this relationship continued on the path it was on.

Smiling at her touch he kissed her, the feel of her tongue against his lips encouraging him to open payed off and he let her tongue slip past his lips as his own did te same to her. He could have stayed here all night if allowed. Just holding her and enjoying her company. The before they knew it the party would be over and they may have to art ways. But then she did promise him a bit of an after party which he was quite curious about.

—-

Rainier laughed melodically at Ricco’s sudden protest. He had called it. Sometimes the Milliner was predictable, not that that was a bad thing, no. “Shhhhh, Meine Liebe, du wirst die Toten mit deinem Protest wecken.” Leaning over he placed the smallest is kisses upon the Elder’s cheekbone. His pretty words and flattery were not lost on Rainier. Knowing full well that he spoke from his heart. “ Meine Sonne, so leidenschaftlich für mich.” Ah, but he did not mind no. Rain quite enjoyed it. There were very few things that moved Ricco to such words of passionate poetry and he enjoyed it greedily whenever the Milliner offered it.

So many choices, really how was one supposed to choose? It seemed so easy for some but them perhaps they had just grabbed the nearest mortal and began feasting away. Though it did seem odd to Rain that there were no sounds of pain or agony. Perhaps that was due to the spell the mortals were under. It dulled their pain and made them willing participants they just didn’t fight back.

Letting himself be guided out of the dining room Rain’s gold gaze swept across the main foyer again. Glancing at each mortal that they passed by. The garden certainly lent a sense of being out in nature this was for certain. There were a few mortals milling about with no real rhyme or reason to their movement. Not far off from where they were lingered a male dark haired mortal, Rain’s sights settled upon him. There was something about the mortal that he couldn’t quite place. Had he seen the male before? No, no? Maybe. No there was no way. That was a one in a million type of thing. Pointing a slender finger at the mortal Rain tilted his head towards him. “How about that one?”

Outside Augustus’s office, Ambrogino still stood. For quite some time, he continued to press his hands, one blemished and one whole, against its wooden surface, firmly enough to feel the grain grooves beneath his fingertips. Beyond it, he could feel it. It was a power beyond all reckoning.

The son of Caine and Lilith himself. He was here. The Antediluvian knew it.

He would not interrupt. He did not need Augustus to tell him to stay out. This was one moment where he would take care not to push.

With a sigh, he forced himself to step back from the door and to the side. How would it look should it swing open? Idiotic. He clasped his hands behind his back. Whatever was happening in that room beyond. Whatever he needed to say to his Disciple could wait.

The surge of power that exploded outward from that space moments later was like nothing Ambrogino had ever felt before. For a brief moment, it filled him to the brim, so much at once that it felt both wonderous and awful all at once. His eyes glimmered with it, burning brighter than the sun before they dimmed to a more subdued glow. And yet, he knew, this was still only a taste, just a tiny sample. Instantly, he knew.

He wanted more.

The door swung open, and the mismatched-hued gaze landed on the man he had not seen in quite some time. He kept his eyes only on Augustus, no matter how much he wished to look beyond him, to know the source of the power, the residue of it still burning through the Antediliuvian's veins. He nodded at the name that was spoken, used to the manner with which his father spoke, as well as how carefully he hid all intention behind his carefully crafted mask. But there was always something a little more there, something Ambrogino found entirely unexpected, though he accepted it nonetheless. After all, he was Augustus’s child, whether or not they continued to hide the fact.

“Augustus.” He said, a serpentine smile pulling at his lips. He stayed utterly still as his father approached and tilted his just slightly as the Disciples hand came to clasp his shoulder. “Of course, it can wait. Everything on your time, as always.” He said, and his words had no hidden coldness, double meaning, or intended disrespect. Casually, his gaze moved to the imposing figure that followed behind Augustus, a large man in a tailored suit who stood no chance of actually fitting in as one of them, not with the way he reeked of power.

“Ah yes, how fortuitous of us to play host to such a paramount figure as yourself.” He said, his smile growing as his gaze came to rest on the deity. “I do hope you enjoy your evening.”

-------------------------------------------------

The door to the study opened, and Grendel allowed Augustus to take the lead while telling himself he would only stay for a short while. After all, he still had someone back at home that he was always quite eager to return to, and now, with his last Disciple’s loyalty firmly in hand, they would have much to celebrate indeed.

But he was curious. Enough so to make an appearance, however short-lived that appearance may be. He waited, knowing full well that Augustus’s child was just beyond the door, having sensed the vampire's presence from the moment he’d moved up the stairs and onto the second floor. He knew much about Ambrogino and had even briefly considered him or his half-brother as a replacement for Augustus before the idea was quickly dismissed. Augustus had earned his place in this clan and built it himself through a deception that was now celebrated on this very eve. He deserved to continue to lead it, and so long as he did not succumb to his final death, Grendel vowed to allow him to.

Finally, the deity moved, following Augustus from within the room, a gaze that darkened like an upcoming storm shifting towards Ambrogino when the vampire spoke. He regarded to ancient vampire silently for a moment, weighing his words, and while he found something strangely off about him, he offered the other a narrow-eyed smile nonetheless.

“Thank you.” His deep voice rumbled like thunder to match his gaze, his attention turning back towards Augustus and where he moved, following him silently, to the balcony so that the roiling storm of his eye could fall below to those who were gathered, noting with some curiosity how the room was first a mix of both immortal and mortal alike before most of those who were mortal began to depart.

“No meal?” He eventually spoke, an eyebrow raising as he turned slightly toward his new Disciple. “Here, I thought I had been invited to a dinner.” He allowed a hint of disappointment to lace these lowly spoken words, though he hardly cared much whether food was involved. He was more interested in what Augustus played at and why. From his knowledge, the yearly traditions of April 4th never faltered. Glancing at the drink slid toward him along the bannister, he let his clawed hand wrap around its stem and raised it when appropriate before taking a small sip.

Not bad. It could have used a little spice, much like what Grendel had been served by Lilian some time ago when he’d joined Ravnos in a visit that had ended in quite the memorable party, but he could stomach it as it was.

Below, he could not help but hear the babble. Not just words but thoughts, such as their reactions to Grendel’s presence that evening. Whatever they said, whatever they imagined, it all came to him, and he closed his eyes against the sudden onslaught for just a moment, a small pleased smile alighting his lips. Many did not know him, and they were all curious about him. He let their opinions and questions roll over him, and when his eyes opened again, that smile had grown into a self-assured smirk.

Soon after that, his question about the evening’s meal was answered. The God turned toward Augustus as he spoke his offer. A meal. A hunt.

“While I appreciate your hospitality, I may need to take some food to go.” There was someone whom he wished to return to, who he could see now was waiting for him, their children having been laid down for their mid-evening sleep. “Perhaps next year, should I find myself in possession of another invitation, I might bring a guest and enjoy the revelry longer.”

Augustus watched the family below with a calculating gaze, making note of which heads of house were present and which had either not shown or had wandered off. The voice of the god beside him pulled the Disciple from his train of thought and he turned slowly, that golden gaze filled with a hospitable kind of warmth. "Forgive the break in tradition." He said and offered a charming smile, his eyes glinting with a soft, subtly impish, air. "I know I invited you to partake in a formal Giovanni celebration but it seems the family needs more of a chance to actually enjoy themselves rather than an excuse to glare at one another across a table for several hours."

He paused, his attention shifting back to the patrons in the room. "Sometimes you have to break the chains of the past and the traditions even you yourself have set if it means those you're responsible for will thrive. They'll have plenty of chances to glare at one another later if anyone feels put out. Tonight, strengthening our bonds is a far more crucial aim it seems." His claws clicked across the bannister once before he suddenly turned and raised his arm in a friendly manner, gesturing toward the edible delights wandering below. "Of course. Take your pick. As many as you like. I understand you must have plenty of things to attend to. Next year please, feel free to bring a guest if you desire."

The Disciple inclined his head forward gracefully, a hand sliding across his waist. "It was an honor to finally meet you. Call when you have need of us and The Giovanni will uphold our pledge of loyalty to our god. If you'll excuse me. I have some of my own... attending to do." The tall male chuckled, that intimate silken laugh quiet as he moved politely past the Deity and headed for the stairs. The Disciple descended into the throng with a poised air of almost unnerving and unnatural grace. His movements somewhere between a spectre and a predator on the hunt. He knew the moment he made it to the floor he would have little to no peace for the rest of the evening and, while he found a kind of thrill in juggling so much chaos, he also found that being surrounded by the deep hungering need that was the Giovanni vying for favor, for request and for his blessing for embrace was like being trapped in a room with the volume turned up so loud you couldn't pick out a word if you tried.

It all blended together into one giant stew of want. He handled each guest with grace, any sense of discomfort or agitation tightly sealed behind that unbreakable mask of hospitality and patience for those who had taken the time to celebrate the evening. They had come for him, for the family, the least he could do was what they expected of him. At least in this regard. The lack of the traditional dinner had certainly shaken a few older vampire's a bit but for the most part it appeared the right move and even the older vampire's appeared relieved to avoid any possible drama. The dinners could get quite... tense. No one seemed to desire tension this evening, at least not of the hostile variety. His lips curved in a knowing smirk. There certainly was plenty of tension of the intimate variety. At least The Giovanni hadn't lost their virility and their drive for... the flesh since he'd fallen into Torpor.

He noted several individuals he would need to speak with privately in the coming nights and as he caught their eye he nodded a polite greeting. Aknowledging that he was aware of their existence and likely would find them soon. The Machiavelli brothers, Della Passaglia, Puttanesca, Milliner, Koenig, Rossellini, Hidalgo... the latter two having appeared to have vanished somewhere. No matter. He knew they were here. He would find them in time. He needed longer conversations with the Anziani, not short moments to tell them they could open a new venture or agree to allow their most promising child or ghoul the gift of immortality, if embraced by their worst enemy. Those hoping for embrace knew the rule. As tense a negotiation as it was they knew the steps to the dance and how it went. He could feel the need for a moment to himself growing steadily stronger, he needed some air.

As Augustus finished a rather lengthy negotiation with a particularly stubborn woman he excused himself, snagging a glass of wine from a passing waiter and heading for the double doors that led to the patio overlooking the gardens. The silver moonlight flooded in through the elegant panes and he managed to slip out the doors before he was stopped again. As he stepped outside the music from the ballroom began, the entertainment for the evening finally summoning those who wanted to dance below to the ballroom. Perhaps that would entice several guests and free up more space in the main hall and adjacent rooms.

Augustus stared off into the night, his golden eyes almost glowing in the darkness. Long white hair shimmering, illuminated softly by the moonlight as it fell like silk over his shoulders and down his back. He stepped forward towards the marble railing and lifted the wine glass to his lips, allowing himself a generous sip that ended in an empty glass. The sight of the garden, the sea of roses and other beautiful flowers arranged pleasingly to the eye and strung with fairy lights, brought him some semblance of ease. He found his eyes drifting to the graveyard when suddenly he heard a sound. The Disciple froze for a moment, his eyes narrowing as he tried to pinpoint the noise. How he had missed the two standing further down currently locked in an intimate moment and partially obscured by the large, beautiful night blooming moonflowers that crept over the marble railing he couldn't quite say, but he had.

For some reason Augustus felt strangely torn. Part of him knowing he should let them alone to enjoy the private moment they were sharing and the other part of him unable to do so. Something about their energy intrigued him, made him strangely desirous to investigate. Investigate what? The Disciple paused, questioning himself. Two men kissing? To what end? He was being ridiculous, there was nothing that warranted an interruption to their evening. Certainly not the desire to sate his own curiosity or the way that energy drew his attention so effortlessly. The small white snake suddenly appeared, sliding across his hand and coiling up his arm where it stopped to regard him with large blue eyes. Augustus gazed down and frowned, trying to puzzle out the random and unprompted appearance of the wraith and the reason it stared at him as if telling him to stay put. "You're rather bold tonight." He laughed softly, addressing his companion in good spirits. The snake tested the air with its tongue and let out a soft hiss like a sigh, not willing to let up in its insistent push that he stay put. "Fine. You win. Stubborn thing."

This evening, such as every April the 4th that had come before it, was such a complete waste of his ******** time. Riccardo Puttanesca wouldn’t have even bothered coming if it weren’t mandatory. An obligation that felt resoundingly hollow and utterly pointless. There was nobody here for him to speak with that he could not just find time to speak with on his own. There was hardly anybody here he would wish to converse with anyways, whether for pleasure or for business, and he was confident the feelings were more than mutual.

He was not daft, nor was he blind. He saw how everyone reacted when he entered a room. The truth was a simple one that he had come to know long ago and had yet to give a flying s**t about. None of the other house elders wanted anything to do with him or his family. They would all avoid eye contact, speak about him with contempt and behave as though something rotten had permeated the air. But to him, they stunk just as bad. Worse, even. Hiding behind all their finery, riches, and snobbish behaviour. Pretending to be better. They all turned his stomach.

Riccardo ground his teeth, a sneer on his lips as his icy gaze roamed the room from the corner where he’d finally settled after his encounter with Nico and a brief chat with Gabrielle. From here, he could keep an eye on the room, on everything that was going on, and be easy for his followers to find to relay any pertinent information. He was aware that his son and his rich little boy toy had left the mansion, and while it was irritating, it could not compare to the inconvenience of having to be here. He knew what all of the other elders were doing, and to no surprise of his own, it seemed like any one of them was within an inch of throwing all inhibitions in the wind, forever shameless and on the verge of some kind of public display of fornication.

And they looked at him in disgust. ******** hypocrites.

He knew where all of his daughters were and who they were with. Some of this information was more surprising, though it was hard for him to say even to himself if he gave a damn. They were barely of any concern to him. Should they embarrass him in any way, he would be happy to disown any one of them. In fact, he could only hope they would give him such an excuse to do so.

Augustus made his appearance with a flair that was to be expected, and Riccardo did his best to look impressed, though not even the appearance of their own God could exude any enthusiasm from the head of the Puttanesca house. However, pale brows rose when the announcement was made about there not being a dinner. How…fortunate? It relieved him to know he would not need to go and forcefully extract his son from his blonde lover's embrace to make him sit beside Riccardo at the dinner table as a sign of unity and mutual respect. The Lord who stood above him on the balcony knew it was nothing more than a ******** farce.

With the second sudden announcement, pretty little mortals began to fill the mansion's rooms, though even that left little to be desired for the white-haired elder. They were nothing more than docile cattle. Entranced and boring. Rather than take his pick of them, he instead pulled a cigarette from his pocket, turning to a body at his side and demanding with a rough and gravelly voice that they go and find him a whisky.

And that's when he saw him. A face he had not seen for many, many years now.

“Scratch that.” His voice growled, holding up his free hand as his gaze took in the figure of Rafaele Machiavelli. Would this tiresome evening finally give him something, or rather, someone, to pique his interest?

“I will go and get my own.” He had already decided as much as soon as he saw his old friend alone at the bar. “You can stay here. I will signal for you if I need you.”

Moving away from the corner and leaving his goons behind, Riccardo approached the bar, his lit cigarette hanging from his lips as he stopped and leaned against it, both hands coming to rest on its surface,

“Whisky. Neat.” He stated, his gaze sliding to the man beside him, the slightest smile playing at the corner of his mouth.

Who even knew that Riccardo Puttanesca was capable of a smile?

It didn’t take long for Rafaele to get a lay of the room. Nothing had changed. Perhaps the decor but that was about it. As cliché as anything to be sure. It was hard to find any real change in vampire society. Sure, the trappings changed but had it really? The younger Machiavelli brother didn’t think so Sometimes it was just easier that way. Why change something that was good? Or at least worked anyhow. Obviously the usual dinner wasn’t working. All fine by him. He had more pressing matters anyway.

Most around him seemed rather busy with one another or the mortals that wandered around like doe eyed cattle. Give him a hunt, a chase, screams. While he could appreciate the offering he would not partake in the freely given vitae. His attention had drifted to the drink in his glass, swirling it around as he grasped the rim of the glass.

He hadn’t missed the fact that Riccardo Puttanesca was tucked away in a usual shadowy corner or that he all of a sudden began to make his way across the room towards him. The familiar gate hadn’t changed at all. Stormy grey eyes watching him intently over the rim of the crystal glass as he took a generous sip.

How long had it been since the last time he had seen the Puttanesca? For two who might consider themselves close friends duty and reputation had taken them in completly different directions. It was a shame. They had been through a lot together in their younger years back when the first movements against the Cappadocians had begun. Riccardo joining the small band of younger family members to create the ground work that would eventually become ORG as it was today. Riccardo had been the first who Rafaele had gotten close to. The first to really make him open up while everyone around him tip toed and he kept them at arms length. So many jobs and missions they had run together one could have said the Puttanesca pretty much became his right hand man in the group. By the time the Giovanni had very nearly wiped out all the Capps, Riccardo had left to take up his household duties and Rafaele worked on building ORG to prepare for the future. Their paths very rarely ever crossing again.

So it was refreshing to see a, rather bearded and somewhat friendly face. Though he couldn’t help catch the smile the other male shot his way. He had heard much about Riccardo over the years. Just because he didn’t work directly with most of the founding ORG members anymore didn’t mean he hadn’t kept tabs on them. A couple still worked for him but the rest had moved on to handle the family duties. Being the younger son, Rafaele had no such responsibilities. So it was he spent most of his time working. Or on his own. Not that he had much down time to offer for anything else anyway.

The corner of his mouth lifted in his own smile at the Puttanesca head. Laughing into his glass that he held up in front of his face, mid motion to bring it to his lips. “What died on your face, Mio amico?” A deep chuckle rumbled in his chest as he took an amused sip of his drink, humor in those dark, stormy eyes. The last time he had seen him there had been no beard. The last time he had seen him they were much younger and had less kids. Settling his now empty glass on the bar he tapped it with a finely manicured claw. The glass whisked away before replaced with another.

For now he would make some time to catch up with his old friend. Who most people knew as a vile, cruel and nasty man. But of course Rafaele knew better. There were other parts to Riccardo Puttanesca. Ones he kept from everyone. Some sides even from Rafaele. But that never colored his opinion of the other male. He was his friend, they had been through a lot. Whatever the other families thought of him Rafaele didn’t particularly care. They all had their own opinions and Rafaele did not share them.

“But ah, less about your charming face. Much has changed I am sure. How have you been, Riccardo?” Rafaele’s voice, while indifferent most of the time, was like silk as he spoke to his old friend. A warm tone touched it, perhaps even one of endearment. He shifted his large frame, leaning against his elbow as he regarded the Puttanesca head. Rafaele was certainly a rather large man. Tall, muscular, one had to be in relatively good shape in his line of work. Well, you didn’t have to be but he liked to cut an imposing figure sometimes. It really motivates the help.

“It seems we may have missed something exciting.” Nico grinned, still feeling the aftereffects of the little power surge that had flowed through them. It was as though a part of him that had been lacking was now filled, a strength that had been forgotten now restored. It was rejuvenating and thrilling and washed away whatever negative feelings still lingered after their encounter with Riccardo Puttanesca. “It feels like power, but I don’t know where it came from.” He gave his head a small shake, his dark locks falling in front of his eyes. He had to disengage himself from Matteo briefly with one arm to reach up and swipe the hair back to the side, but afterwards, it was quickly slid back into place around the other vampire.

There was still a small sense that niggled at the back of Nico’s head that told him they should probably go back. They had come here knowing that this April 4th would be a special one. The awakening of their Disciple, after so many years, was as much a reason to celebrate as the founding of their own clan within the vampire world. If they did not return, would anybody notice? Nico’s father certainly would, but did that really matter? He and Riccardo had been at odds with each other for so long now that Nico could barely remember when it first began. What was just one more transgression to add to the long list of transgressions against the head of his family? The worst that might come of it was another extended, remote job that took Nico away for more than just a few days…

Well, hopefully, that wouldn’t happen. The Puttanesca heir already hated it whenever he got sent away, but the thought of being gone for weeks was something he didn’t even want to consider. Not now. Not when he finally had someone to be around for.

Nico waited to see what Matteo thought of staying outside beneath the stars and away from the stifling oppression of obligation. He did not have to wait long, and should not have doubted for a moment that the blonde would be all for it. The ancilla’s gaze reflected the excited warmth of Matteo’s, and he gave his head a nod. “Of course, we can. And yes, they are. Some of them, at least.” He had almost forgotten about his sisters, but he was sure they would be fine in there on their own. All of them were more than capable of handling themselves, as Nico had made it his business to personally ensure that they would be.

His head tilted down as Matteo pulled against his tie, lips finding his own and practically melting against them as one of his hands slid up beneath the other vampire's jacket, fingertips trailing up along his spine before stopping and pressing between his shoulder blades. Nico held him in place as they kissed, his lips parting readily when he felt the warm swipe of Matteo’s tongue. It didn’t matter how often they kissed, it always managed to send a thrill racing through the darker-haired vampire's veins, and his mouth worked against the others, tongue swirling inside his mouth before they broke apart, a heat blossoming between his body and Matteo’s, his paler cheeks slightly flushed.

This feeling, this energy he felt, the warmth and need. His icy blue gaze penetrated the warm brown of the younger vampires as if searching for something, for a sign that he felt the same.

“Matteo…” He breathed, and there was a thought in his head now, an intrusive one that demanded to be spoken out loud. “I…” He paused and blinked, his head jerking just slightly as it turned to one side with a frown, the spell of the moment broken. Had he...just heard something? He could have sworn he had heard something.

“I think someone might be watching us.” He said, his voice a light hiss, so quiet, and he held Matteo just a little tighter.

“Oh well. Can’t go back and change that now.” Matteo replied in a slightly sing song voice. They had missed whatever it was that had happened. But unless it was ultimately world breaking the blond could find little to yo worry about it now. His attention fully drawn by the dark haired Ancilla who held him in his arms. And dragging it away from him would’ve a task. Matteo couldn’t stop thinking how handsome Nico looked tonight. Although in reality Nico always looked handsome to him. Handsome, sexy, those icy blue eyes that stared so deeply into his own. What was there not to like about the Puttanesca who had so fully enraptured his fleeting attention span.

Maybe it was the power surges or maybe it was just the magic of the moment but Matteo felt that feeling as well. It had been like a pallet cleanser after a heavy meal. T brought everything back into focused, balanced it and filtered out the background noise.

More than happy to stay there and greedily eat up Nico’s kisses as ye continued to hold him. The press of his fingers between his shoulder blades drew him in more. Pressing his lean, muscular frame against the other’s. He couldn’t wait to get him home and take that suit off. The thought of Nico being sent off for weeks is a punishment left a put in the bottom of Matteo’s stomach. It was hard enough when he was gone only a few days. Not being able to make love to him, fall asleep in his arms and wake up to his kisses was hard. The older vampire certainly did spoil the blonde vampire with his affection. Not that Matteo would ever complain about that.

Their kiss so full of passion. As their tongues spared with one another’s. Matteo’s hands roaming all over Nico’s body. Slipping beneath his jacket and testing all the spots where there might be an easy opening to the pale skin that lay beneath the layers of clothing. Disappointed that there was no secret path to the garden that lay within. Oh, he planned to unwrap him as soon as they got home. Quickly or slow it didn’t matter. The suit would be in the floor and him and Nico would be in bed wrapped up in one another. As they kissed, Matteo’s hands drifted up his chest, claws trailing lightly up Nico’s neck, the sides of his head, past his temples to thread those fingers through his thick, dark locks. Messing it up just a little before smoothing it out again. He did this a couple of time and it Nico we’re worried about his hair getting missed well it was a bit too late now. Besides the messy, unkempt look was making a come back.

His eyes had slipped closed as he lost himself in those lips. Drinking them fully, deeply. Letting slip a few small moans of pleasure as he did so Buy quickly they opened half way as the kiss broke and Nico began to speak once more. So wrapped up in the moment that at first what the other vsmpire had said didn’t register at first. “Hmmm?” He continued to look up at the other with a dreamy gaze. Those honey brown orbs brimming with affection and desire. Until finally what he said clicked and Matteo merely laughed, soft and melodious. Placing a hand to the side of his head he turned Nico’s face back to him so that he could stare into those icy blue eyes. “Your fathers goons are about yea? I bet it’s just one of them being a snoop. We could always give them a show to really report back on.” Biting his bottom lip he raised his well groomed eyebrows while looking hopeful.

Nico was always on high alert and sometimes it was a miracle to get him relax. With the added presence of his father this would be no different. His goons were everywhere and surely to report what they saw them doing back to the head. “Maybe if your good there’ll be a surprise in it for you.” Flashing another charming smile Matteo tilted his head a little enticingly. Trying to ease Nico’s mind. If the goons were there, which they were likely to be, then there was no helping the fact that they were probably being watched. Let them watch and be jealous. But Matteo did take a small glance around trying to see if he could pinpoint where this feeling for Nico was coming from. He wasn’t dismissing what Nico felt, no, he had learned to trust the Puttanesca’s instincts he was merely offering a reasonable explanation for it.
