These days, Liri felt immeasurably greater peace than he had before Ecstasy's return. He floated like a little star, not tethered to any particular light, if that light was not X's. Humming to himself, the vampire sat on the edge of their bed, for it was their bed, and contemplated life. Things had been going well. Very well. To his absolute delight, X had wanted their relationship to be official. It was everything he'd ever wanted and had never known that he could have.

"X," he called, running a brush through his silky blue hair. "Are you there?" Where had X gone off to? It was fortunate that there wasn't much room to get lost in, especially with the cozy way X decorated, but somehow he'd lost track of X again. That made him suddenly a little anxious, as though the other would disappear from his sight and be lost again. Was he maybe a little bit insecure still?

Their room--for it was theirs--was indeed not large enough to really get lost in and, though Delirium might have been concerned about X's wherabouts, he had little need to fret. Instead, the bassist had slipped into their large closet, and pulled out a change of clothes. The band had no where to be, but X had debated taking Liri out.

...then again, staying in had its advantages, too.

Of course, dressing up didn't mean much to the bassist. Getting him to wear a shirt at all was a challenge, and even tonight, he slipped the suit jacket on with nothing beneath it. He chose a nicer pair of pants with no holes, rips, though they did have a few bondage straps. He ran fingers through his hair, attempting to tame the wild locks, before grabbing a pack of cigarettes, and a small container out of his jean pockets.

Instead of deciding, he'd leave it up to Liri. "I'm here--what's up, babe?" He replied, slipping out of the closet to look at the winged man brushing his blue locks of hair. His breath almost caught at the sight of the petite form, drinking in every curve and dip of his body. Absolutely scrumptious. How lucky was he to call the lead singer his? Getting to date his best-friend, getting to create music with his found-family, getting to live a life he neve thought possible. It was a far cry from where he once had been turning tricks for a little muscle, or extra cash. Now, he had seemingly everything.

Of course, the path to get here had been rocky. He'd had some major reservations about Clannies hanging around he group; he'd had some misunderstandings with Liri regarding their past, and their feelings -- he'd always thought Delirium had abandoned him when that wasn't the case at all. If anything, X had found out he tended to assume too many things, and was more reactionary than he tried to let on.

But things had been going good...or at least, better than they had in some time. He'd taken a vampire under his wing, and had found he'd enjoyed getting to focus on helping those in similar tough spots as he'd once been. It was a nice change of pace, and X was looking forward to the future. If he was lucky, much of the same -- partying, jamming, hanging out with the crew and fans, crafting new music, and spending his days and much of the night wrapped around Liri. Tonight would be no different.

Unlike X, Liri wasn't particularly dressed up tonight. Instead, he was wearing a simple black skirt and a pair of goth glam socks that mimicked X's colors. Color him sentimental, he couldn't resist the look. It made him feel warm and cozy inside, which was definitely a nice, new feeling. They'd been especially cuddly lately, making Liri just so happy he could hardly take it. But here they were, together at long last.

"I just wanted to know where you were." Just, y'know, in case X should decide to suddenly leave again. To say Liri had developed a little complex about that was an understatement. He definitely was not ready to let go, clinging a little more than was needed. But Liri couldn't help it. He never wanted to let go of X, never wanted to say enough was enough. He could never get enough of Ecstasy, in the end.

Glancing up adoringly at his lover, he smiled. "Well, aren't you fancy? Planning something special?" Did they have a date that he'd forgotten? Or was this for something else? He probably shouldn't assume that every time X dressed up it was meant just for him. Yet here they were with him assuming exactly that. Liri loved the way X looked all the time, but tonight there was just something about him.

Ecstasy didn't mind Liri asking for him, or that he was particularly clingy. Honestly, he hardly noticed it, because he'd been equally attached. He simply thought they were just wrapped up in one another, in the new step their relationship had taken. It was certainly something X had thought of day in and day out-- how could he not? After all years of knocking boots, and keeping things casual, certain Liri and he were nothing more than friends-with-benefits, lo and behold, it was so much more.

X almost felt foolish for not noticing. He'd been so convinced of his indifference that he had been blind to what was before him. Thankfully, he knew now, and instead of sleeping with some stranger, or waking up alone, he had Liri all to himself.

"Something special, kind of," he confessed with a little laugh. "I just can't decide if it's better to go out or just stay in," he said with a shrug. There were certainly places he could take Liri, but he also enjoyed the time they spent together here in their room. Why would he want to go anywhere else when his worlds was settled so beautifully on the bed? "Not that everyday with you isn't special," he added quickly, realizing that it was possible Liri could misconstrue his intention.

The truth was, for Liri, anytime spent with X was special. Any place that he spent that time in was special by extension. So, whether they went out somewhere or stayed in, the 'special' factor remained. "Whatever you want, baby," Liri said with a smile. "Whatever feels better to you. That's what I want." Now that X was very solidly there, he felt comfortable and at ease in the living space. He'd really grown accustomed to having him close at hand, to the point where any break from that was unwelcome.

"Oh, I know it's special, baby. Don't worry." He hadn't misunderstood X's meaning when the other had said he was planning something special. He knew what he meant was 'more special', since their life together was pretty darn special as it was. He'd known his feelings for X for a long time, in spite of the way he'd tried to hide them. Hide them, because he'd feared X might not return them. It had proven to be an empty fear, and for that he was grateful. Profoundly so.

X tapped his claws thoughtfully together as Liri seemed fine with either. There was a convenience of simply staying in their room -- no crowds, no fans, no parties, no distractions. Maybe that's what he wanted right now. On the other hand... a drink wouldn't be amiss. Thankfully, he had his own bar and stash of alcohol here, along with as many cigarettes as he needed. And tonight, a little liquid courage and a few smokes would be welcome.

He still hadn't decided if he should do it. Maybe it was impulsive, too soon. Well, he wouldn't worry about that. Things were already set in motion and he was going to hope things went as well as he hoped. Things had been going too well, lately.... and he was still anxious another shoe would drop.

"Care to get a drink? Maybe take a little stroll? Let me show you off on the town a little," he chuckled, reaching into his pocket to take out a cigarette and lighter. Liri might still want to get dressed or get ready, so he figured he could steady his nerves while he waited. Assuming Liri agreed to all.

Who knew what his love might be up to? Maybe Liri had no desire to leave their little room. If that were the case, the bass player would certainly oblige. Maybe it would be a sign, a warning. Maybe he'd have to make a change of plans. Lighting his cigarette, he took a long, shaky drag, holding that smoke for just a moment, before giving a long, more settled exhale. The plume of smoke framed him like a wreathe, but at least he felt a little more relaxed.

It seemed to Liri that something was up with X, though he couldn't put his finger on what. Well, X had a tendency to get a little weird about things sometimes, though, so maybe it was nothing to be worried about. Maybe it was in Liri's head, anyway. Better not to assume. "Sure, baby, that sounds nice. I love spending time with you, no matter what," he replied, and decided that he might as well dress up, too. Given how X looked, he'd had something a little fancier in mind than hanging around their place.

Liri didn't mind, though. It gave him an excuse to dress up, which was always nice. Nicer because maybe X would be admiring him all dolled up. He went to the closet and picked out a cute, sophisticated look. The top he selected was silk and tailored to show off his slim figure. An answer to X's fancy duds. He made short work of getting dressed, smoothing his skirt after he pulled it on, ensuring that it fit just right. Sliding into a pair of nice heels, he examined his reflection in the mirror. It was missing a little something, he thought. Carefully, he selected a pair of fancy earrings and a silver comb for his hair.

There. That ought to do it. "All right. I think I'm ready." At least the heels were comfortable, in spite of how they looked. There was an art to dressing nicely but comfortably, and one he practiced on a daily basis. "Shall we go, love?" he asked brightly, feeling much more a match for X's look than he had been before. The skirt slid smoothly as he moved, not quite clinging to his figure, but flowing out slightly. It was a good look, he thought.

While Liri got up to change, X remained and finished his smoke, settling his nerves. The night would be theirs to enjoy, and he could very easily show off his beautiful beloved to the world. He was a starlet of the Grave Robbers, but he was always the star of X's heart -- and he couldn't help but be terribly smitten. He had felt a bit of a fool when Liri confessed having loved him the whole time--and that when he'd walked out all those years ago, it hadn't meant to have been permanent.

Though their romance had taken the long road, they found themselves back in one another's arms eventually. And, if he was lucky, permanently. Sure, there'd be some fuss and fight, but he gave Delirium his heart fully. He didn't want anyone else, didn't need anyone but him. He was sure of it. All those years ******** around with roadies and groupies, all those years pretending Liri and he were nothing but exes-turned-friends-with-benefits.... He'd been delusional.

When Liri walked out of their dressing room, X's eyes turned toward him immediately. The outfit he'd chosen was exquisite, as all of Liri's clothing seemed to be. He gave a low whistle as he watched him approach, drinking in his figure, and wondering now why they had to go anywhere. Staying in sure was mighty tempting to the bassist.

"Lookin' good, gorgeous," he complimented with a happy little purr. How lucky was he? That this sexy, talented man was somehow on his arm. "Let's get out of here." Slipping his arm around Liri, he guided him out of their apartment, out of the Club, and out towards the streets. "I'm thinking maybe a stop at Nightbrew Speakeasy?" It was an upscale joint, with a nice retro vibe. Reservations were usually required, but those vampires with enough clout could usually get in. While parts of the bar were mixed between mortals and vampires, there were a few backrooms that were vampires only -- and their selection of liquor was top notch.

It seemed to Liri that there hadn't been a time that he hadn't been in love with X. At least, in all the years he'd known him, at any rate. Even when his heart had been broken, he'd still loved X. Nothing was going to change that. He'd always love Ecstasy the way he did now. If anything, the feeling seemed to have grown in the time they'd gotten back together. He beamed at X's compliment, preening a little under the attention. "Thanks, baby," he said, snuggling into X's hold as the other maneuvered him out of their place and into the night. "You look just as good, as if you didn't know."

If X didn't know, he certainly would soon, for Liri had every intention of making it quite clear to him. His handsome X! "Oooh, that sounds promising," he said, smiling at the suggestion. Sometimes his love pulled these things out of thin air, surprising him with a classy option he'd never heard of. It made him wonder where he'd been and what he'd been up to in the time they'd been apart. However, he thought perhaps they'd been to this particular place a time or two before. Perhaps he was misremembering. Gazing adoringly up at X, he found it a struggle to keep his focus on the path ahead, so he glided along a little blindly, trusting in Ecstasy to lead them where they needed to go.
