Eddie is insanely smart.... on very limited topics. For most things, if they don’t interest him, he simply doesn’t retain much knowledge. Not to say he doesn’t have a pretty good broad knowledge, but on topics he likes, he has near encyclopedic memory.

Eddie hasn’t ever been much of a leader, and will often just go with the flow. Even in situations he doesn’t really appreciate, he’ll follow the crowd. Usually it’s one of his siblings taking charge and he trusts them completely.

For some reason, Eddie struggles with telling lies... or distinguishing lies from other people. He often wishes everyone would just stick to the flat truth, though he understands some people prefer to live in their own fiction.

Eddie shows a lot of detail in tasks he’s assigned, making sure they meet his rather fussy standards. He’s hard to please in a lot of situations, and struggles to manage his focus if tasks aren’t completed to his standard.

You can always rely on Eddie. He never breaks a promise, and will go out of his way to meet the needs of others. He’s a trusty soul, and he’s always true to his nature.

Being an older brother to so many siblings (minus one, who’s older), Eddie has had to learn to be responsible and take care of tasks. Even though Charlotte is older, Eddie seems to do the logistical tasks to keep all five kids in order. His dad says he’s very much like his uncle, which is nice.

Edison David Overton was the secondborn child and first son born to Colton and Mackenzie Overton. His big sister Charlotte was his best friend when they were little, then more siblings popped up. Eddie often went to work with his dad, happily helping take pictures on his own little camera.

When Eddie was two, the family had two kids virtually back to back. Iana first, then Linnie only a year behind. They got to spend time with the whole entire family when their great-great-grandma turned 100. (even though 3 year old Eddie thought all old people were well over 100).

When Eddie was old enough to go to school with Charlotte, he was excited... for about ten minutes. It turned out to be a chaotic environment full of people he didn’t know... and he wasn’t big enough to be in Charlotte’s class! While she had oodles of fun in lots of sports, Eddie spent any time he could in the library or following one of his family members around. It was when he was eight that he started becoming fascinated with birds. He’d take loads of pictures, then help his dad develop them all. Another year and Charlotte was off to school, making Eddie feel the need to try and take over all her responsibilities.

It was lonely without Charlotte, but over that year, they had yet another sibling, bringing the total up to five kids. He helped his parents with the kids any time there was even a vague suggestion. Finally, on his eleventh birthday, he was gifted his Hogwarts letter, and he began to plan...

Not too much happened in Eddie's first year. He was sorted into Hufflepuff, which made sense. He thought he'd be able to spend more time with Charlotte, but he found out quickly their schedules weren't super compatible. Eddie did join the quidditch team, though he was put on the reserve squad. He did get to play a game when a couple other chasers were sick... but he didn't do very good. Otherwise, he spent much of the year taking photos of the local birds and various bits of architecture.
