NEWTs
~Core~
Astronomy ~ EE
Being thrown in as the Captain of the Astronomy club was very beneficial. While not her favorite subject she gained a strong understanding and improved through her years at school. She spent many club meetings studying and helping others with homework.
Charms ~ O
Charms has always been Nora’s best subject. It’s something that came naturally to her. She was always happy to put in the work and study as needed. She was also more than happy to use charms in her day-to-day life, giving her even more practice.
Defense Against the Dark Arts ~ O
Once she decided she wanted to be Minister of Magic, she thought it would look good to have a good grade in DADA. Nora’s good with spellwork, so that wasn’t much trouble. Beyond that, she took the time to put in the work that she needed, so she ended up flourishing in class.
Herbology ~ A
Nora gives credit to the Hufflepuff house for any success in herbology. She does well in the class but she didn’t put as much work into the class as she could have. While she enjoyed it enough, it wasn’t top of her mind so this exam wasn’t as good as others.
History of Magic ~ O
Nora has a brain for history. She’s always been good at memorizing facts and will often do her own history research outside of class. She can name every Minister of Magic since 1900, the exam was no problem.
Potions ~ A
Potions always felt like the one thing Nora could never quite get the best grasp on. Logically she knew putting in the right ingredients, stirring it some random amount of times, should give her the results she wanted, but it didn’t always work out. She certainly isn’t the worst potioneer, but she had to work hard to get where she did.
Transfiguration ~ O
In order to learn to become an animagus, Nora had to gain an understanding of Transfiguration. She put a lot of work into anything that could be helpful. Luckily, the hard work paid off in terms of testing too.
~Electives~
Care of Magical Creatures ~ O
Magizoology runs in the Dashwood family. Nora spent many summers at her uncle’s house learning about magical creatures and loved every second of it. Between this class and starting the Creature Appreciation Club, it gave her a chance to learn even more. It’s something she’s always been very passionate about.
Healing ~ O
With her father being a mediwizard, Nora was no stranger to healing magic. She’s also always loved to help people and healing seemed like a natural extension of that. She found she had a skill for it and put in the work she needed to succeed in the class.
Wandless Magic ~ O
Wandless magic felt like something that would come in handy in her future. If someone tried to kill her, wandless magic gave her the element of surprise. The thought gave her a weird (very temporary) paranoia so for a time that encouraged her to work even harder. Sometimes anxiety pays.
Wandlore Studies ~ EE
Though fascinated by the subject, Nora let her work slip a bit in this class because it felt less important than many others. She still had a strong grasp on how wands could help tell you about an owner's personality, she didn’t put her typical level of work into this class
Wizard Law ~ O
This was without a doubt the class Nora put the most work into. In order to become Minister for Magic she knew she needed a strong understanding of the law. Plus, a higher grade would look better on her resume (and to voters if it got that far). As with History of Magic, it was easy for Nora to remember most of what she learned in the class, and was always happy to study.
