❧ Culture ❧
Reedsong is heavily family oriented. A lion's greatest legacy is the positive impact they leave upon the pride and those that come after them. They openly encourage mentorship, cooperation, and active participation in community life.
One earns respect through: - Experience - Reliability - Service - Wisdom - Skill - Raising & Mentoring the young
Reedsong has no formal ruling class or strict hierarchy of any kind. Influence is earned through trust and reputation. All members are allowed and encouraged to participate in general community desicions as well as openly discuss and vote on major pride matters.
❧ Households ❧
While the pride doesn't have noble families it recognizes family groups known as households. A household consists of decedents, relatives, adopted members, and close companions through a shared family line or name.
Households do not possess authority over other houses or individuals. They serve as social family anchors preserve unique traditions, stories, and relationships across generations. Many members take great pride in maintaining their households history, reputation, and honor of those that came before them.
❧ Coalitions ❧
Coalitions are small groups of male lions that rotate every so often to provide support, protection and importantly mating.
Coalitions are formally recognized groups of 2-6(maybe more idk) males that Reedsong acknowledges. Only the Active coalition are technically members, but in order to be considered for the position a group of males must be recognized.
Coalitions can be made of any type of lion that does not have a mate and is thus a bachelor. Lions that are members of other prides are not prohibited by Reedsong. But if they are part of the active coalition loyalty to them must be sworn during their season. This isn't common due to complexities and may cause many members to not vote for them, but it isn't disallowed.
Each season (prob like 2-6 months or something) there will be a period for approved coalitions make their appeal to the lionesess. Then there will be a community vote to decide which one to take on next.

Beliefs The Circle Continues The pride believes every life contributes to the continuation of the whole. No individual is larger than the pride itself. The Mothers Before Ancestors are remembered through stories, traditions, and family lines rather than worship. Particular respect is given to those whose descendants continue contributing to the pride generations later. The Great Journey The departure of young males is viewed as a natural and important stage of life rather than exile. Every lion must eventually find their own path. The Returning Grass The pride believes all living things eventually return to the land and continue through future generations.
