Lists like these . . .
  Are fun but generally meaningless.
Give me a good idea of where my favorite artist ranks.
Are just an easy way for magazine writers to fill up space.
Are wrong! Where is MY favorite guitarist!? D:<
Show who was most influential in the music business.
Are really cool and enjoy them.
Are created by THE MAN to keep us down!
Are usually very well thought out but they still just opinions.
  Are a waste of time.
  Generate flame wars.

Discussion ideas:
Is your favorite on the list?
What do you think Rolling Stone magazine means by "The Greatest"?
Is there anyone you feel belongs on the list who isn't?
Does this list generally follow your opinion or would you change it around a lot?

I was getting kinda mad until I saw Angus Young at the bottom of the list. I was like 'hey, where is Angus? These people do not know their guitarists.' Then I saw him at the bottom though I dont really think that he should like you know... be at the bottom n everything.

Totally biased, in my opinion. Who, may I ask, compiled this list? Rolling Stone Magazine, perhaps? Notice that most of those names are English, and yet the guitar is not an English instrument? Sorry to say this, but these people wouldn't even be plucking their strings in the accepted manner if it weren't for Andres Segovia.

Santana needs to be in the top 5.
He is ALWAYS supposed to be at the top!

I agree, this list sucks, where the hell is the guitarist from Iced Earth? Jon Schaffer. or whatever.

Tom Morello isn't even with Rage Against the Machine any more. Isn't he with Audioslave now? And they need Santana in that list! What's wrong with these people?

Santana is in the list. Also the list is from 2003, it says so right at the top.

What's wrong with these people? They're magazine writers and editors that's what! xd No really, I think these sort of things really can't be quatified in a list. It's all opinion and conjecture.

ok. it aint suprising that jimi hendrix is number one on their list. i'm kind of suprised that slash is nowhere on that list, and i haven't even heard of a decent chunk of those guys.

_________Someone to love with my life in their hands
_________There's gotta be somebody for me like that

I strongly object to Kurt Cobain being ON that list.
He didn't know how to read music, and he admitted himself, that he could barely play guitar. There isn't anything extravagant about Nirvana's music. AT ALL.
