((A prequeal to their actual arrival))

Lightning bleached out the sky in a brief moment, silhouetting a dragon form fighting against the stinging wind and a broken sailing boat steadily sinking in sea with each wood shattering wave. Then it went dark again. Only a roaring of the storm and the fading rumbling of thunder could be heard. In all the den a faint sound of cries could be heard from the doom ship.

"Hang on!!" K'lin bellowed, struggling to make his voice heard in all the commotion. He didn't hear any response except more cries and the frantic beating of his blue dragon's wings. "Tilth! You have to get closer!" the rider yelled, the noise was so deafening that it was even hard to hear ones thoughts.

The blue dove, trying to force his way to the ship, but only veered away as soon as his wings opened up again. He repeated this over and over, slowly making progress. Tilth reached the boat and grabbed at the railing to gain some stability. Another violent wave came, twisting the boat. Shrieks of the passengers and the ear piercing cry of the blue rose up from the swell. K'lin's cheeks and right side stung as he was slapped hard against the water. Panic took over all his thoughts as Tilth was rolled upside-down in the water, bringing him with the blue for he was strapped to the beast.

I'm going to drown! his voice shouted in his head. WE are going to drown over a mess a bunch of pirates caused!

It was suppose to be a simple mission. Escort one of supplies vessels from Tillek that was heading to Ieirne Weyr. There had been word that a bunch of renegade sailors were going around attacking other ships, stealing their supplies and leaving the crew stranded on small dingies. K'lin and Tilth were being transferred there due to an...incident at Benden Weyr. So he agreed to the mission for it wouldn't be much trouble and he already wanted to make up for his mistake to the Weyrleaders. Yet some how he manage to mess up again. He decided to let his blue rest up on a near by island along the way and that's the exact moment when the pirates attack the supply ship. They stole everything, including the crew and then burnt the ship down. A fierce storm was rolling in and if he didn't find the renegade ship, everyone might die in the fierce squall....

(Back to the present)

Men scrambled about the sinking ship as the rain beat down on them, making it hard to see anything. "Get those sails down, men!" shouted a young man clinging to the wheel of the boat. He couldn't be any older then 17 turns old and yet he was ordering around men twice his age. He was rather tall and had short-cut, rusty brown hair that looked black due to how soaked he was. He his sun soaked skin had lost it's dark tan and had turned a pasty brown from fatigue.

"Cap'n Jaz! The dragon's aleve'!" one the pirates called out pointed to Tilth who had righted himself in the water. K'lin was bent over his blue's shoulder, sputtering up sea water.

"Alright then, throw lines out to the beast and pull them over. We need these prisoners off my ship!" Pirate Captain Jaz bellowed and quickly staggered to the crew of the ship they had just plunder earlier that day. He made sure they were all tied together in a chain with the rope wrapped around their waists. This was to prevent any of them getting thrown over board and washed away by the waves. Jaz has never allowed a single person to die on his watch, weather it be one of his own crew or that of one he stole from. He was no murderer. That's the whole reason he decided to take these prisoners. If he left them stranded in a small liferaft, they surely die in this squall.

Tilth began paddling towards the boat as K'lin tied the ropes thrown to him to his riding straps. Why are they helping us? the creature's silvery thoughts invaded K'lin's stressed mind. They're going to die too if they don't help. The rider explained mentally as he tried to concentrate on what needed to be done.

"Reel them in, you salty-mutts!" the pirate leader hoarse voice rang through the roar of the storm. The dragon manage to cling to the side of half sunk haul as men scurried about, leading the tied up prisoners to blue dragon. They threw the crew on to the dragon's back and fastening to the dragon with their ropes.

"Make sure those ropes don't hinder my dragon's flight!" K'lin shouted at the pirates as he help tie the people on board his dragon. Seven? Could Tilth really take off with that many? There was no time to wonder, but only hope that this would work. The pirates will have to stay behind until he came back for them. He already began to think of the Weyrbowl of Ieirne when suddenly Tilth let out a blood curtling bulge as a huge wave that was at least ten dragonlengths high suddenly engulfed the boat and everyone. Everything went silent.

Tilth burst out of the water with K'lin and the pirate's prisoners still attached and alive. There were cries of help among the choppy seas as the remaining pirates were tossed about, their ship no where to be seen. Another monster swell was rising up again, this one even bigger then the last. "Tilth!! Get us out of here!" K'lin roared, this wave might kill them all. The blue snapped open his wings and beat as strong as he could. The dragon was looking down and reached out with his forearm to grab a flailing body in the water.

"My crew!! I have to save my crew!!" a young man shreiked as he struggled against Tilth's grip. Jaz beat his free hand against the dragon's claws which were digging into the pirate leader's bicep. "Let go you bloody monster!!" Jaz screamed. He watched helplessly as he rose up and out of the water. Tilth got air born and was desperately trying to get altitude before the wave came crashing down. They barely got high enough when the swell finally did fall, swallowing up all the pirates. "NOOOO!" Jaz cried out, but his voice was lost. He didn't see anyone resubmerge after that as the dragon steady himself the best he could. K'lin shoved the mental image of Ieirne's Weyrbowl into Tilth's mind. Go there! NOW!

The dragon blinked out and suddenly everyone felt all their sense go numb in the darkness of between.

Above the skies of Ieirne Weyr a strangled, but loud bulge erupted from the air as Tilth burst out of between. His wing beats were frantic and tired as he struggled to keep aloft. He was going down a bit fast and he started doing circles to help slow his descent. Help....I need help!the blue dragon called out to any that could hear him.

K'lin panted due to fatigue and patted Tilth's neck in encouragement. Just a bit longer love. We can't rest till we are on the ground or we risk losing everyone we just saved. his voice urged on as the rider's eyes scanned the Weyr, hoping someone heard his dragon's plea. The passangers still all roped on Tilth's back cling now more desperately, the fear now no longer of drowning but of falling to their deaths.

Jaz gasped as he came out of between. For a moment he thought he was dead with all that lost of feeling, but here he was still clutched in the beast claws. Jaz first looked up at the blue's exhasted face with his half lidded jewels which now churnged a slow white yellow. The pirate looked down and saw they were many dragonlengths in the air. A drop from this height would kill him and would be very pretty indeed. He tried to grip the forearm that held him, but found his left arm trapped against his body and was bleedy from where the dragon's talons sank in. Jaz hissed in pain and closed his eyes, just wanting everything to go away.

((Okay i hope this is the right area to post this sense it made the most sense to me that they would be landing in the Weyrbowl. Well I'm off to work and won't be on again til late tonight.))

((It's fine that you posted here to introduce your characters. Just don't be shy and post in other places too. Things tend to happen in several places at once so I hope you get along well. Also, welcome to the guild.))

Kes winced visably as she heard the mental distress call all the way from the hatching sands. She quickly called out to the bronze nearby. 'Cadeth! Cadeth! There's trouble, a bluerider and his dragon, over the bowl, there falling!'

The bronze roared in warning and disappeared between only to reappear a moment later above the ground and next to the blues' side. I come brother, let me help you!

The much larger dragon literally hovered above the smaller blue and carefully and quickly helped him to land.

You are safe now, I am Cadeth and I have you.

Tilth gladly took Cadeth's help and landed slowly on the ground. He balanced on his hind legs as he backwinged to kept himself steady and released Jaz from his foreclaws. The pirate rolled out onto the ground, groaning in pain as he clutched his injuried arm. The Blue finally let all four feet touch down and he collapsed, breathing heavily.

Thank you Cadeth. I'm Tilth...and I'm very tired. the dragon rumbled he lifted his head to nodded apperication to the bronze.

K'lin was scrabbling out of his straps, his bootknife already out and trying to cut at the ropes around Tilth. After a few quick slices the ropes fell from the beast's hide and the people attached came tumbling off the back, spilling out like marbles from a bag. The rider then threw himself off and leaned against the blue's shoulder for support. He couldn't even feel his legs for being in the straps for so long. K'lin looked over in front of his dragon and saw the pirate captian.

"You miserable piece of wherry spit!" the rider hissed as he kicked the already down Jaz. "Why are you here?!?"

"I don't know!!! Why don't you asked you bloody tunnelsnake with wings? I rather be dead right now with my crew then to be alive and watched them get sucked, not being able to do a shard of a thing!" the pirate unsteadily risen to his feet to snarl back at the bluerider.

SHUT UP!! Tilth roared both mentally and vocally. Even though the pirate couldn't hear the dragon's thoughts, his sound made it quite clear he wanted silence. My head hurts as it is and I don't need you arguing. I SAVED HIM.... And I saved him because I felt something about him. He's meant to be a candidate. I can feel it. the dragon huffed out as he stared at his rider and then shifted his gaze to Cadeth, pleading for help on this before laying his wary head down again. The dragon never felt so tired in his life and his muslces ached all over. K'lin even winced from his beast fitgue and the man calmed himself so he wasn't yelling anymore, but continue to glare at the pirate.

The brown dragon landed lightly and his rider helped Minoa down. She thanked the two and watched them take off. Her stomach gurgled slightly and she decided that her first stop ought to be the dining hall even though she would have to take her bag with her.
