ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
The Hurricane has made landfall. The slow approach of the hurricane made for some awkward Holiday celebrations as island-wide alerts have kept Pae'il indoors for close to a month.
Food and supplies will have dwindled with only the bravest of Pae'il venturing out for food and water for their families.
Makeshift shelters have been demolished. Shanties and lean-tos were swept up by the horrendous winds. Only the sturdiest of structures survived. Even water dwellers felt the energy of the hurricane deep under the lake, as the currents enraged and whirlpools formed. Laisidhiel swayed, and branches broke. From inside, it felt like the tree would be uprooted.
The biggest casualty from this destructive storm was the Head Quarters. The building was completely destroyed, not even the magical requirement rooms survived. Piled on the spot where the HQ Lighthouse was, is nothing more than a heap of debris. It is hard to say if any Pae'il took shelter in the building, but the fairies of the island will work nonstop to find missing Pae'il, and sort through the rubble looking for survivors.
The strong winds that were building over the course of months died out as if a switch was flipped. In it's wake, island-wide devastation: trees uprooted, animals washed out to sea, buildings destroyed and a trail of grief.
Only the most elementally sensitive and intuitive Pae'il will realize that this was no ordinary storm. Certain locations were hit harder than others, looking more like it had specific targets, instead of just random mayhem. The cause is still entirely unknown, even to those who know it wasn't an act of nature.
((RP Notes: EVERY Pae'il will have been affected by this storm; some more than others. The targets were the HQ, Laisidhiel, Alu Spring, and the temple ruins in Loka Nei Forest. Any Pae'il that may have resided in the HQ do have to find a new home. No Pae'il actually died in this storm, though it is up the players how shaken up or injured their own Pae'il will be. Any Naiad in the Lake, but not in the Palace will have been swept out to sea by the stronger currents or sent deep into the ocean via a whirl pool. Even strong Naiad couldn't fight this storm because it was not a natural storm. Any Faun outside of Laisidhiel will have been blown to the island unless they were inside. Faun living on the island itself are fine, as long as they had shelter. Laisidhiel's branches are broken and injured, so Faun will feel that pain from the Tree and want to help. Any other island structure's state of disarray is up to the player. No building went unscathed, but it didn't have to be devastating if you don't want it to be.
Feel free to have your Pae speculate as to the cause of the storm. Rumors are welcome to be spread.
Now that the HQ is gone, Pae'il will now have to find food and supplies on their own. There is no longer an endless supply. Some Pae'il may need to grow their own food now. On the coast, with the building material and debris from the fallen HQ Lighthouse, the island's fairies will build a port and marketplace for trade ships and Pae'il to get the stuff they may need. More information can be found here: Trading Post in the Setting and Guidelines thread.
Further fallout will be discovered over time, as Pae'il explore the island and investigate the damage.))

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
The weather has been mysteriously calm for a year now. The normal tropical monsoon that hits in the summer did not even show hints of coming near Telrunya. Clouds have been spotted several miles off the shore, but they are mysteriously swirving around the island.
Due to lack of rain and snow in the mountains, the weather fairies fear the island may see signs of drought come spring. It is advised for all Pae'il to take the proper precautions for this upcoming planting season, and prepare for the forecasted lack of moisture in order to reduce crop and animal losses.
Clean-up on the HQ has been a long process due to the nature of the building being "bigger on the inside" it turns out all the material from inside has come outside. It is taking longer than usual, and the Construction Fairies in charge of building the Trading Post and Port have all the material they need, so if any Pae'il is in need of building material, the fairies have opened up the grounds for all. There are also some rare items available to any willing to come pick them up.
Among the items salvaged:Many costumes from the endless costume closet. Also, could serve as raw material for those crafy Pae'il. Furniture - various chairs, beds and nightstands from the many rooms. Most in good condition, some ripped with holes, but a skilled Pae'il could repair the damage. Lamps - the fairies have no way of testing these unless they drag them back to Telrunya City, but they'd rather just get rid of them. Miscellaneous electronics - again, no way to test these, and they'd only be useful for Pae'il who have secured an electricity source, but they could be useful for other things. Items include a blender, toaster, a couple of coffee makers, telephones, various computer components, a few hair dryers, and surprisingly, the big-screen TV survived the hurricane without breaking. Take note: Telrunya does not have broadcasting, so a TV would be mostly useless in it's current form, however, it could be disassembled and used for other things. Bedding - pillows, blankets. Any not claimed will be taken to Telrunya City and added to the emergency resource kits. Shelving units, cabinets, doors, porceline sinks and bathtubs Plumbing pipes - could be melted down or used for intended purposes Various tools - hammers, screwdrivers, shovels, rakes, etc. Come see what's there. Salvaged products include many small bottles of shampoo, lotion and other personal grooming products (including hairbrushes and combs) that were located in a storage room that seemed to not be destroyed. Leftovers will be sent to Fallassion House of Healing. Batteries - many sizes, also found in that storage room. 5 generators - first come first serve. They work, however they have very low fuel. Could be adapted to use alternate fuel sources by resourceful Pae'il Kitchen utensils Wires and switches Various shapes and sizes of mirrors
Remember, it's all first-come, first-served, and it won't be there forever. The fairies plan to dispose of unclaimed items. Other salvaged items, such as books and seeds have already been take care of. There is also a lot of lumber and stone for those seeking more material for their building projects.
((RP Notes: This is a chance for Pae'il who have lived without certain things to come claim some. Also listed are items specifically used as raw materials for other crafts and products to help get Pae'il started. ))

WEATHER ALERT! WEATHER ALERT! WEATHER ALERT!
The fairies from the island have been sending in mixed reports of the weather. In the jungles of Northern Loka Nei, the heat and humidity is above average for this year. We recommend denizens of the jungle to take care and keep cool to avoid heat exhaustion.
In the far North, there are reports of a biting wind rolling down from Aura Nin, chilling the north-western parts of Ithyl Forest. The fairies suspect this is not the work of the North Wind, but they did not provide answers as to source of the cold wind.
In the south-east, Dragnid Tower is appearing more active. The steady cloud of purple that it normally produces has grown significantly, and has now casts a larger shadow on Dragnid Forest, even moving North, adding the last parts of the forest to its terrible corruption.
Fairies at the Trading Post are reporting business as usual and no unusual weather for this time of year. Good news for the farmers, craftsmen and barterers!
In the north-east, fairies are reporting the summer weather arrived as normal and they invite Pae'il to enjoy the moderate weather at Nethaear Beach.
There have been no weather reports from the Aquatls or fairies of Laisidhiel at this time. We take that as a good sign that the summer has arrived quietly and without concern.
And as always, weather in Telrunya City is perfect.
