Far away, in the deepest depths of the sea, there exist two warring mermaid kingdoms...
The undersea realms of Kumori and Aquatica.
But how did two such massive and powerful empires come to be embroiled in war?
This is the story...

King Kagai Desatreux Kumori- truly a monster, this merman king sent his vast forces across the realm of water, conquering all in their path. His lust for power will not be satisfied until he rules all, sea and land. His name strikes fear into the hearts of all, and few have been lucky enough to escape his wrath alive.
Aside from his demented hunger for power, Kagai is also greedy; his lair is rich with treasures stolen from all corners of the sea. And his most recent treasure: Princess Relena of Aquatica...

Princess Relena Serenea Aquatica- the beautiful sovereign of Aquatica. Although she is slightly withdrawn, she is also wise and innocent.
Unfortunately for the princess, her beauty soon attracted a most unwelcome suitor: King Kagai of Kumori. And he would not take no for an answer. Relena was kidnapped and brought to Kumori, but was thankfully rescued from the wedding by her strongest knights.

Kagai, however, is not one to give up easily- and the people of Aquatica are not about to submit to his rule. Now the two kingdoms are embroiled in war...

Personality: sharp and fierce, Kere is an annoyance to her family, the lady who will forever be in waiting. Although musical and talented, her love is more for a challenging fight. Kere is a strong woman, and is as sharp and quick as they come. Her weakness lies in her speed however, as she is too quick to think things through. She is a loyal person, and a lover of any music. Although rather defiant and rebelious, Kere is willing to protect her princess at all costs.

History: Kere was born the youngest and most fierce of three sisters, and two brothers. Unlike her sisters, Kere prefered to go adventuring with her brothers, and playing 'roudy boy games'. Her parents were furious of the trouble Kere was, and although she was loved, she was also seen as different. In a haste, her mother took her talent and set her up as an apprentice dancer, singer and musician at the age of ten to play for the court. Satified that Kere would grow up a proper lady, Kere kept her best to keep that image. She became restless however, and so when the chance came to fight, Kere took it. She made up another life completely by the name of Lillani Brookes and began her training during the night hours, and her preformance career by day.

Abilities:magic, generally healing and basic stuff. Also does a good binding spell. Can also gain legs sometimes.
Appearance:
Personality/Bio:Hanahi is the daughter of the Kuroda Kingdom's official mage(magician, witch, etc). She was raised near the palace most of her life, untill the king decided to go on his little crusade(because i cant think of a better word), when she left the palace. She rarely eats anything but sandwiches if she can get them and has insomnia. She dislikes the King and wants to give a good boot off of his throne. Haruhi's personality doesnt match her appearance very well, as she can be hyper and random. She likes the number 500 ,to count ceiling tiles, shells, and using the dorsal fin on her fishy half to scare land-dwellers on the beach biggrin

Bio: On Raktorhon's birth a sacrifice was held so an ancient beast was sealed inside him to make him more powerful. His tribe resided in a territory beyond Kumori and Aquatica's boundaries. When King Kagai Desatreux Kumori's crusade roared through this territory and left the tribe in ruins, the king saw Raktorhon and decided to take him in. From that time on Raktorhon was trained in war craft to help the king's conquest of the oceans. He supports all of the king's actions and advises him in all war affairs.

Princess Relena Serenea Aquatica leaned on the balcony, looking down on the garden below.
Coral, pearls, shells, seaweed, and various other underwater plants and stones formed an intricate, ethereal mural in the sand.
Her mother, Queen Serenea Aquatica, had crafted it all. Relena had spent her childhood in the garden, swimming in the twisting rows of anemone and pearlflower, playing with the angelfish.
Serenea had died shortly after her daughter's eighteenth birthday. She had been laid to rest in the royal masoleum, but a small memorial to her stood in the garden- a block of mother-of-pearl, wreathed in flowers, under her favorite coral tree. And, if Relena strained her eyes and ears, she could almost see her mother's golden hands stroking the petals, hear her faint singing dancing on the waves.
The garden brought Relena peace- a rarity, now that her homeland was embroiled in war. And after the council she had just attended, she needed the garden- the beauty, the enchanting charm, the pure feeling of life and peace- more than ever.
They were losing.
It had been months since they had triumphed over even the smallest group of Kagai's men. Every day came news of battles lost, soldiers dead, fortresses overtaken, cities fallen. His army was closing in on the royal city like a pack of hungry wolves.
And all because of her.
The guilt was overpowering.
With a sigh, she slumped over on the rail, burying her face in her arms.
Her mother's song faded away, leaving her to languish in her own despair.

Raktorhon stood at the king's shoulder in their council of war, discussing battle tactics. It would be unwise to attempt to kidnap Aquatica's princess again.
His head and stomach throbbed in unison. It had been doing that a lot recently in the turmoil and sorrow of war: the demon inside of him. He would have to be extra careful.

Kere sighed as she moved through the palace halls, she had been sent persentaly by the court to cheer up the princess. She was tired though, from the lack of sleep due to her training life, and didn't think she could preform as well as was needed. None the less... it was her job.

Opening the door, Kere moved into the room quietly as she could. It was an elgant room but many of the places here were espically those that were high class, and no less was expected for the princess. She moved to the balcony where the court had explained they last saw her. Kere placed her instrument to her lips and let out a low hollow tune, she knew a happy one would make the princess feel worse so instead she made one up, improved it to match her sorrow so she would feel as though she wasn't the only one feeling it. It stayed low for some time and rose up again before falling like the waves on the sea. It spoke of guilt, pain, loss and grief and hopefully it was one she would need.

In spite of her grief, Relena felt a smile form at the familiar sound of Kere's music.
"You always were the best musician in the court," she said, lifting her head and turning around. "I thank you, Kere, for your thoughtfulness."
She bowed politely to the musician, nodding as she rose.
"I should not be brooding like this. It is unhealthy and not helpful in the least. I should be working to find a way to protect Aquatica..."
But even as she spoke, she felt her heart sink a little. Hope...She hadn't had true hope in ages. Nobody had survived King Kagai's wrath, and with Aquatica as his newest target, it wouldn't be long until they were conquered...or completely obliterated altogether.

King Kumori turned to Raktorhon and said, "Go fetch Hanahi for me. We need her assistance and advice on this matter."
Raktorhon bowed obediently. "Yes, Your Majesty."

Hanahi was currently plotting her next sandwich raid on the landwellers. She swam a little ways away from the beach they were on.
"Yummy sandwiches, here I come."she said gleefully.
She raised the tip of her sharkfin above the water, enough so it was easily seen.
"SHARK!!1 RUN FOR IT!!!!" Someone yelled. Everyone ran off the beach to the inner land. Hanahi grinned, changed her fin into legs, and ran onto the beach to collect the forgotten sandwiches.
"Works every time."

Relena swam over to Kere.
"So...Is there a problem?" she asked, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. "Has anything happened?"
More than likely the council needed to speak to her; Kere, being Relena's closest (and just about only) friend, was an ideal messenger, seeing as how she was the only who could calm and console the princess.
