Einstein's Original Question

This is something I came across and it's been driving me insane! I found it on some intelligence quiz site. Apparently Einstein made this up and 98% of the people who have tried this have not figured it out! If you can get the right answer, you're a flippin genius!!! GOOD LUCK!

Einstein wrote this quiz last century. He said that 98% of the people in the world cannot solve the quiz.

*In each house lives a person with a different nationality

*These 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet

*No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same drink.

was on a logic test (as extra credit, were not all smart) we took in Engineering Graphics, so the teacher could tell how easily he could teach the class (if he can just teach using logic, or if he has to dumb it down). I didn't answer it correctly the first time, but I did get most of it right.

I've done this before.
It was on a random game I was playing.
All you had to do was make a grid & solve it that way.
It was pretty easy.

lol I didn't think about making it into a grid while I was trying to solve it. I made a little picture and listed characteristics under the houses. probably whats screwed me up.

well, i must be a lot younger than u are! im still in high school! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! my friend gave it to me without even bothering to try it! i guess i cheated, but it was bugging the heck outta me, so i did what i had to do to stop spacing out!!!
