Hey! You're letting out the coldness I saved overnight!
Jakobo's prompt
Quote:
We're skipping the thankful prompt, as that just seemed too obvious. smile Instead, let's talk about the weather. Up here in Northern California, it is becoming winter quickly. Would you prefer a perpetual cold or a perpetual heat wave? What would be the pros and cons of that decision?
I hate cold. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I worked in a store that had no heat nor air conditioning. Winter was unbearable. I couldn't feel my fingers (I kept taking off my gloves to work the register [yes, I know I should have gotten fingerless gloves, but I should have been able to feel my fingers!]) My teeth would literary chatter some days. Teeth should never do this on their own. It's really uncomfortable, especially if the phone rings or a customer tries to talk to you. On the flip side, during summer the candy bars would melt because of the heat. But I could feel my fingers and carry on a conversation. My apartment is of course pretty much the same way as the store, hot in summer, freezing in winter. I can deal with the summer, light sheets, taking walks by the beach where the breeze is, etc. A couple of weeks ago I couldn't fall asleep because the cold kept waking me up. This was with a hot water bottle for my feet too (hot water bottles work wonders, btw). We added another blanket after that night, so the bed currently stands at: hot water bottles at the foot of the bed, flannel sheets, blanket, crap fake down comforter (which will hopefully be replaced this weekend), and three blankets on top of that. I'm writing this journal entry to delay going into the freezing cold bedroom (living room is fine, bed room = ice box). I wish I wasn't terrified of space heaters.
Alright, enough delaying, off to bed I go (wish me luck =P)
Edit: I forgot that the name of my journal is even Cold Toes, reference as to how my feet are always cold xd
