bored at the moment, oh well that's what I get for working nights. Been reading bit by bit what's happening at NY Comic Con. I went last year and had a blast. Went with my best friend and stayed at the hotel closest to the convention center where CC was being held. Honestly, I'm not kidding when I say take at least $1000 with you. The trick is splitting up the money and hiding it in your shoes razz I also had found a Borders bookstore which opens down there at 7:00 am instead of 10:00 which was cool.
I lost track of how much stuff I brought there, it was all stuff that would have come out anyways but was being released earlier so I brought them. I got one of my Star Wars books signed by Timothy Zahn, the guy I feel restarted Star Wars back in 91. Also another important thing I should have for the next convention...laptop computer. I might have to get one because the train ride was 7 hours long and that would have been a useful way to pass the time.
It's funny how some people use the conventions to be seen as gods in their fields. Stan Lee goes to alot of them, I missed the chance to see him last year since his panel started just as the convention opened. But I did see Ray Park aka Toad from the X Men movie and Darth Maul from SW Episode I. I met the actress from Heroes who plays the cheerleader, just too lazy to look up her name lol.
I only checked out one panel while I was there, the Tsubasa panel which had the voice actors there and they aired the first episode. Looking back there were some other panels I would have loved to check out but I didn't plan out my time better since it was my first time going. The next time I go to one of these, I'll figure out how to catch as many of the good ones.
The only downside for me personally, my best friend went and he mostly spent the weekend chilling in the hotelroom after finding bootleg videos of different cartoons he liked.
So what I am doing this time around....working all damn weekend but I did get the insurance for the truck so just have to wait for the title and I'll have the truck on the road. I did order the recent .Hack//GU The World Guide book, just not sure when that'll arrive. Also ordered Rose Hip Zero vol 1 and Star Wars Insider #37. It looks to be a quiet week.
