Lycons Moon: New life, New Time ==========
Prologue ==========
___This is a story of a conflicted conscious that has choices before him that he never knew he had to make. He is male, and he’s a demon, to be more specific he is a fox demon of the southern mountain tribe. One day when he was ten his village was attacked by the northern fox demon mountain tribe. ___They killed his mother and father in front of him. They slaughtered the cattle, and killed man, women, and child. He hid under the floor bored as the blood of his family was dripping between the cracks. As the blood dripped down on him it formed a wall about his soul, hardening against all weakness making him imune to feelings of mercy. ___He listened in silence to the screams of agony and fear. He shook like a branch in the harsh winter winds. But something happened. It suddenly got quiet, that deathly quiet that sent shivers up a grown mans spine. ___He didn’t hear the triumphant cries of his village’s conquerors. He didn’t hear the wind, or the flapping of bird wings as they fled away, not even his unsteady breathing, or the beat of his own heart that pulsed in his ears. He only heard that deathly silence. ___The smell of blood surrounded him, so that he suffocated on the horrid smell that tainted the air. He crawled out of a hole in the stonewall of the hut. As he stood there in the snow that came half way up to his knees, his fox tail fluffed out so it looked twice its real size. He looked at his white shirt and baggy black pants to discover that they were covered in blood and as well as on his hands. He looked around from where he stood in the snow and froze in disbelief. ___The snow was stained crimson red. There were bodies on the ground in multiple places. Arrows, spears, and swords jammed in their bodies. His gray fox ears folded back and he fell to his knees and curled up as tight as a snowball and wept. He swore he would get revenge for his tribe. Since then he has traveled the mountains for hundreds of years training himself. Honing his senses for tracking, hiding, and killing. ___In the years that he traveled in pursuit of revenge, he fell in love with a girl demon from a rival tribe but that love was a forbidden love. She pushed him away to protect his life then refused to run away with him. She hurt him so much, she added yet another brick in the wall around his soul. ___Years pasted, the girl he first loved died. Watching her burial from the shadows of a tail tree, his heart grew cold and his emotion died as well.
=========== ___He is now almost 300 years old, he watched as the demon race became scarcer every day, and how the humans created technology. He didn’t use any human technology, he didn’t need it he used his senses and his claws when someone caused him trouble. ___It was now the year 2029 and New Years-Eve. He sat in a tree by a lake in the city park where his old child hood home had once been. He sat solemnly in the tree watching the fireworks with little interest. The occasional flash of light would bathe him in blues, reds, whites, and violets. His ears twitched as he heard running footsteps headed in his direction. He looked down and saw a girl all alone holding a box. She had blond hair from what he could tell. She wore a tight black shirt, skinny gray jeans that hugged her every curve and a gray skiing hat. ___He watched her reach into the box grab something like a stick, kneel down by the edge of the lake and put the stick in a glass bottle. She lit her lighter and sparks came from the little stick. She ran under the tree he was in and saw her watch the stick that shot into the air. The stick exploded in a flurry of white and purple lights. She must have seen him cause when he looked down at her, she was staring up at him. ___She screamed in shock and he jumped down from the high branch and landed in front of her. She shivered and stepped back as he stood up. He could tell she was staring at his ears. He stood there looking at her thin, when she was about to scream, he shot forward and pushed her against a tree and covered her mouth with his hand. He pressed against her so she didn’t move and they were hidden in the shadows. Three guys ran past with flashlights in their hands. The girl tried to yell but failed. The men talked to each other thin walked away. One man said, “I thought I heard a girl scream” “I did too” said another. ___He looked at the girl he had pinned to the tree, her green eyes shinning with fear and question. His ears folded back and he looked at her with his yellow eyes. “Listen girl, if I let you go will you yell?” she shook her head. “If you do I will knock you out and you don’t want me to do that, ok?” she nodded. ___He removed his hand and backed up so she could walk around him and over to her box where there was a blanket. She sat down not taking her eyes off him. He felt like he was expected to sit down as well so he walked over slowly and sat in the grass a few feet away from the girl. His tail curled around his waist. ___“What’s your name? I’m Kiome. What’s with the ears and tail thing? And why did you push me into that tree?” she asked questioningly. He sighed and let his ears relax. “My name is Ukari, and I’m a fox demon of the southern mountain tribe. And I pushed you into that tree and hid you there because I didn’t want to be caught.” She nodded as he explained and budded in, “Wait your 300 years old?” she said shocked. “But you hardly look 18!” ___“Yes I know.” Ukari said solemnly. “It’s a long story.” he stopped talking when he noticed she was leaning toward him. “What?” he said looking at her with an inquisitive look on his face. “Why are you staring at me like tha-“ she had grabbed his ears and started to rub them. “So they are real.” She said with an innocent look. ___He started to stutter, “S-stop that” he was almost purring when he pulled her hands off his ears. “What? I wanted to see if they were actually real.” She looked at him and he was looking away, the sudden flash of light from a firework in the sky lit up his face and she saw he was blushing. ___He suddenly stood up, his ears perked forward. “What is it?” she asked. “Shhh” he hushed her and strained his ears. He heard near by gunshots and running footsteps. “Get down!” he pushed her into a bush and motioned to he to be quiet. He stood out in the open and looked at two men running in his direction. One man had a gun the other carried a silver briefcase. There were sirens in the distance and the men clearly saw him and stopped in front of him. “Get out da the way kid” said the man with the gun. When Ukari didn’t move out the way the man pointed the gun at him and thin froze. Ukari vanished and was now standing behind the two men. ___“Now who is in my way” Ukari said smiling. The man with the gun tried to turn and shoot him but he quickly found himself face down on the floor with his arm, twisted behind his back. The man with the briefcase ran at Ukari. He grabbed the man’s arm and flipped him over his shoulder onto the ground. The briefcase fell open and money fell onto the ground. ___Three men in navy blue uniforms and badges came running they pointed their guns at Ukari. “Hold it right there thief! Your under arrest.” One cop said. Kiome ran in front of Ukari and held her arms out to her sides. “Wait! You’re making a mistake! He stopped the real thieves, see!” she pointed to the two men moaning in pain on the ground. ___The cops kept their guns aimed at Ukari and Kiome. He sensed that the cops where going to shoot so he wrap his arms around Kiome’s waist and jumped high above the trees, leaving the cops bewildered and confused. Kiome gripped onto him scared to look down and he saw she was frightened so he landed on the roof of his house on the top of a tall city building. She let go of him and stumbled back a little and he caught her. “Thank you but never do that again please.” He nodded and helped her stand up. “Where are we Ukari?” she looked at the pint house in front of her. “This is where I live,” he said opening the door. ___She walked in the small house and looked around. The floor was cherry red wood; the wooden tables were a dark oak. The furniture was crimson brown for the chairs and dark gray for the sofas. The walls were a soft hunter green. There was a kitchen with the same feature along with one bedroom and bathroom with the same features as well. ___She sat down on the sofa and watched him as he walked past her. He stopped at the door of the kitchen thinking it would have been rude not to offer her something to eat or drink after what she just went through. “Would you like something to…” he stopped when he turned around to see her asleep on the sofa. ___He walked over and opened a drawer and took a blanket out and a pillow. He lifted her head gently and placed the pillow under her head. He thin put the blanket over her, careful not to wake her. He stood back up and walked into his room and closed the door. ___The next morning Kiome woke up to the smell of baking bread. She sat up and yawned thin remembered where she was. She didn’t intend to spend the night at his house but it happened. He came out the kitchen with a plait and glass of milk. He sat it down on the table in front of her. “Good morning miss Kiome. I hope u slept well?” he sat down in a chair and sipped the glass of milk. Kiome nodded at him thin looked at the plait. ___“What is this?” she said looking at the brown bread. “It’s called cinnamon toast. It’s bread with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar on buttered bread that I toasted in the oven for you. I thought you might like it. Go on give it a taste.” He pushed the plait over to her and she took a peace of bread. She bit into it and smiled. “It’s delicious. Thanks for making this for me” ___He looked away and out the window at the sunrise. “Hay I want to do something for you if it’s ok?” He looked back at her “Like what?” ___“Well I want to surprise you.” She smiled. ___“Ok thin.” He sounded like he was about to ask another question but thought better of it. “So where do we have to go for this thing you want to do?” “My house” she said wondering how he would react. “Alright finish eating and we will go.” He said before taking a sip of his milk again. After they had finished eating he picked her up on his back and jumped off the roof to a lower roof continuing this till he landed on the solid ground. Kiome, happy to be on the ground again, sat down and sighed. “I wish you didn’t do that” “Sorry but that’s the fastest way I know how to get around.” ___“Well ok now I don’t live that far away from here and I’ll only be a minute.” She reached into her pocket and took her skiing hat out and handed it to him. “What’s this for?” he asked looking at the hat like she handed him a slippery fish. “You need to put that on. We don’t want peoples attention to your ears and bright orange hair. There’s not much I can do about your tail thou. If anyone asks we’ll say you got it at the Renascence Festival.” ___“Alright thin if that’s the case thin take your hat back” he handed it back and as he did his tail reseeded into his back and his ears turned human as his orange hair turned black and his yellow eyes turned blue. “There. How’s that?” she looked at him in awe and wished she could do what he had just done. “Well that works!” she said in a shocked voice. ___“So…we can go now?” he saw her nod and she started to walk down the street that was crowded with humans. He followed her and found it hard to deal with the stench of all the humans. “Not much farther” she said. He didn’t even notice that she had grabbed his hand. They moved through the crowd like a fish swimming against the river current. ___They reached her house and got inside the building away from the crowded streets. “Ok now you can take your cover off” she watched as his tail and ears came back and his hair and eyes changed back to their real colors. “Ok so now what?” “Just sit on the sofa while I get something.” She walked into her room, from what he could see, had blue walls. ___Her house had a soft, sea blue walls, green furniture and glass blown sculptures of multiple animals. He sat on the sofa waiting for Kiome and he picked up a class ball that looked like it had a blue, green, purple and orange tree growing inside it. ___He heard her walking over and he put the ball back on the table. She was dressed differently. She had a black mini skirt with a tight gray shirt on that had a black design on the front. She had her hair up in a ponytail, and she had a dark green satchel bag on over her shoulder. ___“Ok lets go,” she said smiling. ___“Go where?” he said sort of feeling confused. ___“I want to get you some new cloths if that’s ok with you.” She ventured. “Um… yeah, it’s ok.” He said as he stood up. ___She held his hand as they walked down the street. She stopped in front of a mall, and Ukari could see that it was not as crowded as the street they were on. She went inside, but stopped to look at him. He was staring up at the tall building like he wasn’t sure it was safe. She was glade that he had put a hat on before leaving the house, cause no one seemed to pay him any mind as they walked past him. ___She walked back over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. “It’s ok, this is a place where there are many shops, just in one place.” “Oh so this is a mall?” he asked, still looking at the building. “Mhm. That’s, right. So come on” she smiled at him and they walked inside. She stopped occasionally to look at something in a window in awe. Ukari followed her around the mall, and they finally went inside a store called “Dragons Breath”. She pulled a few peaces of clothing off the racks and handed it to him. “Go try these on over there.” She smiled and pointed at the dressing rooms. As he walked over, he could tell someone was watching him. ___He stopped and looked around and saw three girls bunched together by a cloths rack looking at him and giggling. Feeling a little weird that they were watching him he slipped in the changing room and started to change. A few minutes later he came out wearing a black flex shirt, black gloves that had the fingers cut off. He also had black pants that looked sown together with red string and it had a few chains hanging hear and they’re on the pants. He had heavy black boots on with red shoestrings and buckles. ___Kiome saw him and felt her face blush slightly. “You look great. In the cloths, I mean.” She said staring at him. “Uh, thanks?” He looked at her and thin at his reflection in the mirror. He had to admit he did look pretty cool in the cloths. She paid for the cloths and as they left the store she threw away his old torn up cloths in the garbage. ___“Thanks for getting me the cloths.” He said as they walked down the street side by side. She smiled “No problem. Oh look there’s a Carnival!” she looked across the street at a small carnival. It had a Ferris wheel, a few roller coasters, and fun booths that you had to knock over bottles to get a prize, or shoot water at something to make it move. “Do you want to go there?” Ukari asked her. ___She thought about it for a moment thin smiled “Yeah I would like to.” they started to cross the street. She was a few steps ahead of him when he stopped as he heard a car screech as it turned a corner. He turned to see a car racing down the street toward Kiome and he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back and wrapped one arm around her so the car wouldn’t suck her in as it flew past inches from them. ___He forgot to hold onto his hat, and it flew off and landed on the other side of the street. His ears twitched and he was lucky people were watching the racing car so that he had time to quickly get his hat and put it on. Kiome stood there in shock from the near death experience, and shook her head. “That was amazing!” she said excitedly to him when they reached the other side of the street. “Oh, that. It was nothing I just didn’t want you to get hurt.” He felt a warm feeling in his chest as she thanked him. ___That day after he had one Kiome a stuffed tiger and they had ridden almost every ride in the carnival there was only one ride they didn’t go on, and it was the Farris wheel. She smiled at him and pointed at the Farris wheel, and when she smiled at him, that warm feeling in his chest returned. “Want to go on the Farris wheel?” she said smiling at him. ___“Hu?” he didn’t hear her because he let his mind trail off as he tried to think of a word to use to explain the feeling in his chest. ___“The Farris wheel. Do you want to go on it?” she asked again. ___“Oh, sure I would like to.” He followed her to the ride and when it came to their turn he helped her in the gondola and he followed. Once they were up in the air he looked out the window at the ground seeing they were really high up. The wheel stopped slowly and they were at the top at the highest point. “We’re really high up.” He said looking at her, and he noticed she looked a little scared. ___“You ok?” ___“Yes I’m ok. I just forgot I’m scared of heights.” She laughed nervously. ___He slowly went over to her and sat next to her. “It’s ok. It’s safe I’m sure.” He tried to sooth her. He put his arm around her trying to get her to relax. She stopped looking scared and he smiled. “See. It’s all ok.” He looked out the window at the lights that glowed in the night from the buildings. “It’s nice out tonight,” she said to him in a calm voice. ___He took his arm from around her and looked the other way. “Yeah it is.”
