Today was once again my birthday. Oh, such a gleeful time of the year; it has come to pass yet again! And I believe this is one of the better ones I've had in recent memory.
So I woke up... and when I woke up, I was substantially happy" on my bed was Dead Space (which I should've gotten at Christmas and didn't because of the D I had in AP... almost got a B now) and a quickie card with $20 in it. SWEET! cool I took a shower, and went to school, nothing really different there except for people saying "happy birthday!" when I brought it up. Cat dissection on my birthday. W00t. rofl And then school ended, I went on the bus, waited a half hour outside for my mother to get home and open the door... the usual.
When I got inside, though, I immediately went to play Dead Space. In an hour I had reached Chapter 2, having mutilated many a zombie-alien in my path! Seriously, this game ******** rules, without a doubt. I will write a full review when I finish playing it extensively, most likely. cool
Sakura Nashimara was with me from having left school to the time we got home (she gets rides to the library, and around in general on school days, from us), and so observed some of the Dead Space awesomeness. It appears she likes it. cool At about 4, though, we went to her house, because she wanted to drop some things off and also give me the presents she got me. Sakura, I totally love you: she got me a $25 Gaia Cash Card and The Offspring: Greatest Hits. Safe to say I was very happy. whee
After leaving her house, we went to Wal-Mart, because I had yet to buy my little present to myself: 1600 Microsoft Points. After being dropped off there, I found it, as well as a $10 Gaia Cash Card my mom said she'd buy me, and then... waited for a half hour for her to get her a** back over because she went off on a tangent and drove to other places not within walking distance. I was impatient. mad When she finally arrived, we bought the stuff... grand total of Gaia Cash: 3500. cool After a stop for gas, we FINALLY went to the library, and it was 20 after 5. I basically kicked off the people who were playing Rock Band 2 and redeemed the M-soft Points. With the points, I bought:
Even Flow by Pearl Jam Jeremy by Pearl Jam Black by Pearl Jam Once by Pearl Jam Two Weeks by All That Remains Young Man Blues (Live at Leeds) by The Who Lifeline by Papa Roach
The Pearl Jam songs... ARE ******** AWESOME! scream Jeremy is the only one without a solo, but I love that song so much I don't even care! Every song spans the fretboard and is extremely fun to play with points of challenge that are beyond entertaining to play. Also played Even Flow and Jeremy on drums, saw the charts for Once and Black... the drum charts are BADASS!!! Simply put, Pearl Jam rocks, and the Ten album (which was released today on RB) is totally amazing. cool
So when the downloading was done, on came the Teen Advisory Board meeting... which went off pretty routinely, except that at the end was a celebration of my birthday, as well as those who have passed (Sakura's) or have yet to come (a friend of mine named Troy). The cake, in this case, was NOT a lie. ninja Played some more Rock Band when the meeting was over, got a near-FC of Jeremy on Expert Vocals... I'm gunning for it; I can do it. twisted
Finally getting home, I redeemed the Gaia Cash, bought two Reve Rouilles (I'll sell one of them when they're fully evolved), bought some fish, and finished off with those new Emerald Seeds (sold one, keeping the other to raise in value over time). I can see some of my avi-related dreams coming true in the future now. cool
Anyway... that was my birthday. Fun times for all, especially myself. This was easily one of my better birthdays, the last two years kind of sucked. If the next one turns out like this one... I can't wait! whee
