First of all: Hullo there everyone! xd Welcome to my Art Info Journal post!!! I am looking for some nice people who can help me out. First off I'll give you a little background info about me: I am an aspiring artist! I am 18 as of 8/26 and I have been doing 4 basic things my entire life.
1. Breathing
2. Art!
3. Eating
4. Preforming
mostly in that order. Honestly 4 and 2 are about equal but I can't preform without meh foods! whee
I do a lot of activities and academics and therefor do not have the time for a job. I'm sure there are many people out there who at this point are thinking 1 of 3 things:
1. "Uuhhh....Why is this relevant???"
2. "Then how are you on Gaia and finding the time to do this?"
or
3. "What's with all the lists?!?"
Allow me to explain. Since this is intended to be about my art (if u can't tell by this point), I bring this up to reinforce this point: I DO NOT HAVE PHOTOSHOP!!!
If this is still a bit confusing, I apologize, my thoughts tend to be a bit scattered; however, it is this very tendency that allows for my creativity. Getting back on track...
I also love anime and typically draw in that style. I am usually quite borderline in this sense however: I am best at drawing what I see. However, I have a boredom issue and therefor hate drawing observational... I don't care about the common everyday things I want to see!, draw!, experience! the unusual!!! I combine my own creativity and sense of design with the anatomy and accuracy of others to develop my own style.
So here is what I need:
~Any artists who also do not use Photoshop, if you have impressive art despite this set back, please pm or post me a link to an example piece as well as your personal tricks for getting similar colored shading effect.
~Any artist is free to post work here and if I like it I will pm or post about materials, training, ect.
~Anyone who has suggestions of good (preferably inexpensive) supplies, or even exorcises, classes, anything really.
~Tips on applying for commissions!!!(for example, what are good things to mention, what sort of art should I ready for example, what is a good price to offer, ect.)
Also, I will accept orders for avi art, R.P. characters, requested scene shots, designing tekteks, or even just fun stuff. I already have a waiting list so the sooner you contact me the sooner I can do art. Like I said I'm new at the whole commissioning thing so please post (or pm if preferred) anything you would like to know or see. I do have a DeviantArt account, however the artwork is very outdated and highly inferior to my current skill. I mostly do pencil sketching but can do color using colored pencils, markers, paint, pastels, and I am saving up the money for Copics. Please keep in mind that I have to buy all of my own supplies and do not get allowance and do not have a job. I apologize for any extra fees that I may be required to charge, my rates will vary based on the material and the amount required. I work personally with my clients on every piece of art commissioned to insure that they receive the ideal results. Please pm me for any inquiries concerning my services. Once I have done more commissions and orders I will try to add more specific pricing details, examples, customer feedback, waiting list (with stats) so u can keep tabs on the progress of your project and other requests I can cater to. I hope that this will be mere stepping stones to bigger things. Eventually I would like to have my own page where I will host an art blog, sell work, and provide a site for requesting commissions (for real money). Obviously that is a goal far in the future but It's something I would eventually achieve and any help is greatly appreciated. I am also saving my money up for the software and hardware required for more professionally colored art (i.e. Photoshop and such) in hopes that I can offer that when I do open a site, but as I have said, I have no income and require at least 7000$ before I can obtain the equipment. I might try to set up a place for donations for my artwork and performance travel expenses, soon but as I have said I am a very busy person.
