So I decided to dig out an old poetry book of mine and post a few of my better teenage samples. I wanted to share them here to give my oldest a view into the workings of my mind when I was his age and also to see if some could be reworked into more mature pieces. What can I say, the boy's so like me. 4laugh
Here's where the problem arises. My wife and I have had to move quite a bit this last year so we're still living out of boxes for the most part. It's been rough. I remember having my hands on the elusive poetry books no more than 2mo. ago. My wife however claims we never brought it into the house. She also believes that it's in a box labeled "Note Books" out in the shop. Have you super sleuths figured out where I'm going with this? What my next line will be? Yup. That green box labeled "Note Books" which once contained a set of lovely floral print dishes, is buried. Buried deep. How deep? About 8 rows in (which is all the way back) and on the bottom, 7ft. of boxes atop it.
Her detailed account of where it is sounds very plausible and being bipolar causes me some annoying cognitive issues, so I don't trust my memory 100% of the time but I'm going to bet on me this time. I'm sure I had it and now I want it! My sketchbooks are in the house and that leads me and my Swiss cheese of a memory to believe that it's here... er... somewhere. sweatdrop
