Murdoc watched Cortez. He was bored out of his mind; the Gorillaz hadn't been doing much, and they became less and less famous. He sighed, took a swig of his beer, and smacked his lips. ''Caw!'' Cortez cried. ''Oh, shut yer mouth.'' Murdoc growled, picking at his teeth.
Noodle sat in her bed, painting her toes. The smoke from her pet monkey's cigaretter made her cough. ''Hey! No smoking in here! Baka!'' She threw a pillow at the spider monkey. Mike screeched, stamping it out. He looked at her, his fez tilted. Noodle sighed. her eyes trailed to her precious guitar, which had been long since used. The teen crawled over to it, picking it up as if it were a precious child. She plucked the strings, trying to remember if she could still play. The sound made her skin tingle. Noodle continued to play, and smiled. She found herself playing their hit''Feel Good Inc.''
Murdoc sat up. ''Am I crazy, or is a ghos playing?'' he said, a grin spreading across his face. He could hear Noodle's guitar, and she sounded wonderful. An idea sprang into the satanist's head, causing him to jump up, scaring Cortez. The raven squaked in protest. Murdoc plugged in his amp. He stood in the dorrway of the winnie, half-naked, holding his bass. He played along to Noodle's beat; Murdoc smiled, his fingers knew the way of his bass. It was his precious.
Noodle almost squeeled. She heard him! Murdoc was playing! ''Yes!'' she accomplished more thant any of them could do: she got the satansit to get off his lazy arse. Noodle walked, no, waltzed out of her room, still playing. She quickly headed for the carpark where the winnie was parked. She saw Murdoc standing there, his eyes closed. His inverted cross glinted in the dim light of the carpark. Upon hearing her, he opened his eyes, playing harder.
2D sat up, his headache forgotten. ''Wot teh 'ell?'' he mumbled, running his hands over his face. He felt stubble on his chin. ''Is that...?'' With a surge of joy, 2D realized what it was: his bandmates! With a joyful bound, the blue haired singer crossed his room, still dressed in t-shirt and boxers, entering the carpark. His voice carried through Kong, gently singing the lyrics he helped Russel write.
''City's breakin' down on a camel's back.
Well they just have to go 'cause the don't know wack.
So all who fill the streets, it's appealing to see,
You won't get outta the county 'cause you're bad and free.''
Murdoc and Noodle turned, seeing a sleepy but happy 2D. Noodle's face lit up, but Murdoc just smiled. It was small, but it was more than he usually gave.
Russel woke, still clutching his dead hog. It's stunk, and he gagged, throwing it across his messy room. ''What are those cracka asses up to?'' he mumbled groggigly. Then the tune reached him, and he stopped. A sad smile spread across the drummer's face, and he got up. Russel picked up his drum set, (which was easy for the huge man) and hurried to where it was coming from. Upon seeing his friends, he sat down his drums and began playing.
That night in Essex, people sat up with their friends in family, listening to the sad but beautiful melody of the rockstars. Since then, they decided the Gorillaz were making a break through. Plastic Beach in 2010.

With a vow that this is the last heartbreak
Even the cherry tree, swaying in the wind
Will eventually blossom
