Even with those useless Gaia Cash cards, items are STILL expensive on Gaia. It's pretty ridiculous. I normally don't splurge my gold, I save it for important things. I recently finished my Gaia Home. Now, I can understand furniture for a Gaia Home costing a lot, but for simple items like clothing? It's so trivial.
I find it frustrating that I would have to play this game for probably two YEARS before I even have anywhere near enough for what I want. My two main goal items? Wonderland & the Sweet Powder Blue Dress in the Durem Depot shop that somewhat resembles an Alice dress. The bow & shoes I could always buy on my own. But, it's very ridiculous that so many of these items cost so much. It shouldn't matter if it's a 'collector's item' or not.
