In Death and Dying, we are discussing the Health Care issue. Which I believe to be a double bladed sword. One of the main reasons why we are in this crisis, is the fact that people are living longer than they should. This sounds bleak, but it's true. The advancements in the medical field has lead to an over populated world. If we do indeed succeed (highly doubtful without going bankrupted) in providing health care to everyone, we will increase the problem. People need to die. Whether you believe in god, or evolution, death is a necessity. Die, go to heaven or hell, die get rid of your weak genes. We are breeding problems. Instead of leaving it up to the hands of evolution which brought us this far, we are curing problems, thus giving these people a chance to go on and have kids, with the same weaknesses, to develop the same problems, and thus leach off the rest of the society to take care of them. When a Giraffe is born with to short of a neck, it's against the natural order of things for the others to build it a step stool to eat.
The question on my mind right now is without the invention of modern medicine what would be our next evolutionary step. You are ignorant to think there isn't another one, and we are perfect. With all the technology that actually hinders us, what would we have been able to do to mimic that millions of years from now? Of course this will never happen, because the ideas of evolution are moot. In fact so much so that the debate could be presented that they don't even need to teach that in school anymore. Because it has no representation on today, since we find ways to no longer need it anymore. We don't need telepathy, we have text messaging and the internet. The weakness goes on and on, reproducing, breeding the crappy f'ed up things we are today.
