Well I just got back from MTAC actually I've been back for a few hours. I've just been... busy? Anyways don't know what I'm talking about? Check out my last entry, and go visit www.mtac.net it's a convention in Nashville don't you know! Anyways it was a pretty fun convention. But let me start at the beginning of it and work our way to the end.
I worked all of friday afternoon. The convention started that day, but my girlfriend had school and her parents didn't want her to miss it. So I decided to work and ended up working nine to four. The day was fine, at about five until four I clocked out and we hit the road. Two hours later we found ourself slightly lost trying to find the hotel. The town was somewhat confusing with all these trees blocking the view of buildings. Don't get me wrong it's awesome to see so much green in a town. We just couldn't see which street led to another easily enough. Which made us exactly 12 minutes late to preregistration. I went and asked if they'd let us get our badge anyways.
The guy there just pretty much told us tough luck. We walked away upset, as we couldn't do anything at the convention that night. It was bull crap that they closed down at six o'clock. Well my girlfriend Julia was pretty upset on the walk back to the car. To the point of tears, of course I was mad but was still confident we could figure something out. Well we got her mom who had spoken to a woman about us possibly being late. Earlier before the convention through an email.
We went back to the prereg counter and found a security drone. Who then found the girl Gail had spoken to. She ended up letting us get wrists bands, for five bucks each for the rest of the night. Which I guess was alright though we had already spent 30 bucks on preregistration. So after that we went back to our hotel. We were staying at the Amerisuites a mile or two away. We ended up staying there because it was cheaper, and the embassy suites was full. So we checked in I showered, and then put on some normal clothes and my OMG hat. I also tied my grunny plushie to my wrist. Mostly, hoping to attrack people from Gaia. Did it work? Eh, not so much.
Julia and I walked around the whole night sizing up the convention. It was pretty small compared to what I've been too. At least content wise, the people count on the other hand was massive. Or at least it appeared to be since you could barely move in the halls or especially a dealer room. It was like massive wall of people, I was able to move better at Acen with like 10k attendants a day then at mtac. Which I think had like 3k for the weekend. Well anyway we found a movie room. There was just two on the second floor, and watched an asian horror movie called "Phone" it was decent. It ended at around midnight, which is when Julia and I headed back to the hotel. It was late, we were tired and nothing interesting was going on at the convention until the next day.
So friday started to appear bad at first. But ended up turning itself around to a pretty decent night. We were able to check out the convention, watch a movie and talk to a couple people here and there. Saturday was pretty good but I think I'll write about that in another entry, tommorow or another day. I wouldn't want to bore anyone with the massive amount of text I can make sometimes.
So instead, let's look at the pictures I took on friday. Though, there isn't much.
Those are the badges I made for Julia and I for the convention. It was just to show off we both visited Gaia. I did actually have at least one person for sure walk up and notice it. Though, she didn't tell me her name. Infact when I told her my name. She just said I wouldn't know her. rofl or? gonk even I'm not sure which emotion to express. But that happened today, not sunday I shouldn't be talking about it yet. OHNOESSPOILERS!
That was an excellent cosplay of an alien. I saw that and instantly had Julia get out the digital camera and I snapped the picture. I had to jump around to find a spot and managed to find an angle where it didn't look like everyone was standing ontop of each other!
A little while later we spotted this totoro cosplayer. When we first got there she was fighting with the alien. It looked pretty cool, but I only got a picture as they were walking away. Totoro was actually a Gaian I knew from the MTAC convention thread. Though, I wasn't able to speak with her until the next day.
Anyways, thats all the pictures for friday. Time for me to go read some Death Note I bought. Expect another entry tommorow or tuesday. Oh and please, if you happen to read my journal please comment. I actually hold off on posting new entries if I think people will miss the pictures I posted. Comments let me know they've been seen. 3nodding
