I have earned my stripes today for being my father's daughter! I not only fixed a lamp that was broken (although I have no idea how it broke, or how I fixed it), and installed a shower head! And now, it's story time while I relate these, and other exciting stories.
We'll start with the lamp, since that's where it really all started. Laura had left this desk lamp behind when she moved out, and I've been loving it! Not only do I have a lmap on my desk now, but one beside my bed for reading purposes. This particular lamp has been beside the bed since forever now, and last night, for some reason, it went... funny. Flipping the switch did nothing, like something inside wasn't matching up right, but if I pushed hard on the switch, the light would flicker on. It was one in the morning when I found this out, so after some minor fiddling that made the lamp at least stay on without me holding it, I went to bed resolved to fix it when I woke up again. After some procrastinating on my part, I finally got around to the lamp this afternoon. It took a little while, but after some creative pushing, everything seems to be in working order.
And now for the sotry of the shower head.... I was awakend at 8:50 this monring by someone knocking at the door; it was tha mail truck, and they had a package. I took it and stumbled back to me room; reading it was for me, I threw it on the computer chair and tried to go back to sleep. And failed miserably. So I got up after an hour, and opened my Energy Saver Kit from the goverment. It was so awesome! Here's what was in it:
-3 energy saver bulbs
-2 LED nightlights
-insulators for all light switched and electrical outlets
-plugs for unused outlets
-2 rolls of wearther stripping
-1 kit for wrapping a drafty window in plastic
- two thingys for my faucets
-low flow toilet bladder
-toilet leek detection tabs
and my pride and joy...
-a low flow shower head with three settings
Needless to say, I was uber impressed with my free kit, and eager to try it out. So I tookt he shower head with me, and installed it before my shower. The consensus: I'm in love. This thing is awesome! And the water pressure is better from this than from our old one!
And now for my least favorite part of the past few days... Despite the awesome exam on Saturday morning, my day went down hill in a hurry when I got a phone call from work, asking if I knew I was scheduled for that day at 4:30. I got the call at 3:40, and needless to say, I did not know. My boss had failed to send out a schedule, and since he had done so the previous week when I wasn't on it, I made a reasonable assumption and figured it was the same deal this week. Wrong! I worked Satuday night and Sunday night, Sunday night I was there till 11:30. But it's over now, and I do not wish to discuss work any more...

There are four shoots, and they've all broken the ground! Here's hoping it keeps going like this. ^___^
