So, I got online and my home page greeted me with the most recent news story: Angelina Jolie on a rickshaw ride getting hounded by paparazzi. And it sounded interesting, so I clicked on it. The story detailed how Jolie was shooting a film in India, and how her and her family have basically been pestered by the paparazzi. And I thought, "That's awful! I mean, can't they leave her alone EVER? It's not that important if she went on a rickshaw ride or not." Then I realized, that even in my disgust for the paparazzi, I have helped them to thrive. See, I clicked on that news story. I became one of a million numbers in the stats that will tell some enormous company somewhere that stories about Angelina Jolie on a rickshaw ride are popular. And the paparazzi thrives.
