Well I'm back home finally. The conference was wonderful! I had a great time. I learned about conflict management, and sexual harassment, and other stuff. Me and my room mate craig got drunk Saturday night and played Mario Kart Double Dash, and Warioware. The funny thing is getting nice and liquored up is a wonderful enhancer for those games. THe food was mediocre, I actually ditched lunch Saturday to go eat at Carls JR, that dissappointed me I had expected more. However whats free is free, so don't knock it too much. I think my Alcohol tollerence has gone up quite a bit considering I drank a whole bottle of vodka saturday night, and then hit the dance floor. One thing happened that did piss me off. Our Speaker saturday night was/is a member of the LAPD, and he said a few things about 9/11, because he had served in the Marine coprs. trying to stablize the Iraqi law enforcement group (this is going to make me sound really right wing, but as we all know I am the left wing type, who leans more towards independent) So as he's speaking these people make a sign saying it wasn't muslims who attacked the twin towers. Then our speaker made a comment about gangs being "urban Terrorists" which they truly are in my opinion, because if you think about it, what they do is basically terrorism. Well more people began to gather and held signs aloft protesting and booing him. While others began to stand on the stage in support. I myself stood upon the stage, not because he was right. But because they were wrong for chanting at him and cursing him, and saying, and I quote "Shut the ******** up!" Now as I said I am no right winger, but what they were doing was just plain rude! This man used his own free time to come to us, and speak about leadership, and here these savages were yelling and booing at him. I was disgusted by there lack of civility towards a guest. However, after he was done with his speech and told him how sorry and shameful I felt because of the protestors lack of respect. However in the end of his speech he said that those who went on stage were showing leadership for standing up for what they beleive in (whether it is president Bush(which there were some, much to my chagrin),or if it was the ideal of respect (such as Me and Craig). He also said that the protestors were also future leaders as well, because they stood up for what the beleived in. However what also got my goat was the fact that someone tried to hit him in the halls out side the dining hall! After that was over it became a huge sobfest, that made me roll my eyes and sigh with disdain. That night I had a feeling I would have to maybe break up a few fights or something of the rough and tumble type...However thanks to the Hypnotist that appeared that night everyone laughed and had a great time. Me and Craig not being the dancing types played some Drunk mariokart and Warioware and all was good, untill I woke up to a dull throbbing pain in my skull, which was a baby hang over. Well I enjoyed this confrence and I cannot wait to attend next years!
Oh and on a side note I only had one dead hooker in my sunday morning!
