One Shots of Sorts
I get my little spurts of creativeness. With them, I write oneshots. C:
Kiss The Girl [ OS ]

I lied about keeping these in my LJ. xD I forgot the password and what email address i used for it. So, here's a small spurt thinger. Norrington and Odette. Written while listening to "Kiss The Girl" from the Little Mermaid.

Short.

Lame.

Yeah.

---

There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don’t got a lot to say
But there’s something about her
And you don’t know why
But you’re dying to try

“Beautiful night, isn’t it?”

“Oh. Yes. Wonderful.”

Her gaze was set out across the placid waters while his were transfixed on her very form. There was something about her that he wasn’t certain about. Out of all the people to find in Tortuga, he had found her. Odette Beaumont; owner of a small pub, living with a drunkard father, and finding herself in the most awkward position of having to take care of a full grown man. A man that was now an ex-commodore and following the distinctive path her father had gone down.

Swallowing hard, James found that with the woman’s body language before him, she was not in one of the finest of moods. He wouldn’t be either after what had just happened.

The average Tortuga brawl. The entire situation had been his doing and she had only stepped in and in return … she was degraded to the level of just another whore.

“I’m sorry.”

You wanna kiss the girl

Glancing over, Odette gave a mere shrug of her shoulders before she shifted uneasily where she sat at the opposite end of the small row boat. With James rowing just a small ways out into the bay, she needn’t worry of anymore crude remarks being thrown her way. It was stereotypes like those that made her want out of the town. Just because she was a woman, she couldn’t do anything. All except spread her legs, which she didn’t, but all the townsmen thought so.

And as of now, she was specified as his whore.

“No need. It’s … fine.”

Maybe it was a bad idea taking him in …

What was she thinking? He was the best thing to happen to her in years.

Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do

Another one of those lines that made him doubt she was really up for being at his side. She was there for him day in, and day out, giving him a place to stay free of charge. And not even once … had he thought to return the favor in some way.

He didn’t have a way to repay her though.

Love wasn’t enough in this case.

Love had never been returned in his favor.

It’s possible she wants you, too

But who was she to think she was the best thing to happen to him in years?

It was easily answered though. She wasn’t. She was just some kind soul. A kind, foolish soul. Just by the fact that he had reminded her of her father and drove her to help him not wind up down that road, she was in this situation. She hardly even knew the man aside from his name.

James Lysander Norrington.

But a move would not be made on her part. Not until she was certain that in just the slightest way …

He felt the same.

There is one way to ask her
It don’t take a word
Not a single word

Pulling the oars out of the water and laying them inside the boat, James looked up. A full moon.

“Odette …”

Go on and kiss the girl

“Yes?”

Giving him her attention, she was caught off by the look in his eyes. It wasn’t the look she saw from day to day. It was one she couldn’t explain or give any proper thought to. And as if on cue with his body leaning forward, she met the motion, her hands in her lap to keep in the slightest bit of balance in the boat.

Eyes of emerald and others of smoke drifted half shut, lips pursed and ready to meet …

My, oh, my
Look at the boy too shy
He ain’t gonna kiss the girl

Pulling back with an involuntary jerk, the boat gave a violent shake due to James` movements. With a soft curse only audible to himself, he brought a hand to casually run through his slightly tangled mass of chocolate hair.

“We should head back. I do believe things would have blown over by now, don’t you?”

Coughing up an excuse that wouldn’t be accounted for with his peculiar actions, all he wanted to do was retreat back to the Banshee and into his own room. What a fool he was to even thing that she would want a man like him. A broken man like him. She had thing going for her, even if she couldn’t see it. He would just ruin it.

Ain’t that sad
Ain’t it a shame, too bad
You gonna miss the girl

Shoulders drooping and head hanging, Odette forced a nod and a weak smile.

“Sounds good.”
