HOW TO DO LINEART Disclaimer: This is by no means, the ultimate guide. disclaimer: this tutorial is fit for tablet users only
Okay, it seems your having trouble doing cute pictures in Photoshop? But now your dilema is over 8DDDD. okay, on to the tutorial:
1.yay, sketch (8 Okay, first you need a sketch. it doesn't matter if you did it digitally or not. What you need to do now is to make it a bit bigger than it's original size. if it already is, then no need for re-sizing. (you'll find out why later) Now it seems you'll have a hard time using line-art while the sketch is in this color. so that leads us to the next step (8.
2. Okay, To change the color of the sketch, use the hotkey Ctrl+u and it will open This window. Once that window is open, click "colorize" and make sure that it is on "Master". Now this leads you here. You can play around with the hue, lightness and saturation. I usually use "Hue=0 , Saturation=82 , and lightness=+68" Why? cause I like red 8D. and then once your done, click OK. Now it seems a little bit easier to line-art, right?
3.Now click creat new layer, and then click the text 2x,rename it "lineart" and then click the colored box 2x. Once you have clicked that box two times, it leads you to a window called Color picker. You can choose any lineart color you want, but I usually choose black.
4.Yes, You must have a tablet to do this tutorial. if you do, let's move on shall we? Now go to "Window---> brushes" or press F5 on your keyboard. and This window will pop out. Set the brushes like the one in the picture.
5.Now on to the lining. go on the "lineart" layer, and the start your lining. I usually use the 12px brush, cause I like my lienart nice and thick. But some preffer it thin. Since tablets are have en-abled pen-pressure sensitivity, it's easy not to have flat lineart. Now that your finished with the lineart, the next step is to Go back to the Background layer and double click the text. Now a window pops out, rename the Background layer into bg. The next step is to Color your background. I'm leaving mine plain white, cause I'm not feeling like doing any background. But if you want to do a background, I suggest you do it now.
6. Now you want to know why I made you make the picture slightly bigger than the size you want it to be? well here is the size right now, and it is not in it's original size: Looks messy no?

HOW TO DO THE CG This step can be used by both mouse and tablet users.
Now that we are finished with the lineart, we now move on to the CG! this is the fun part....
1. create a new layer, and call it anything you want. MAKE SURE THIS LAYER IS UNDER THE LINEART In my case, I called it skin, cause this layer is where I am CGing the skin. Once your finished with flat coloring it, You shall now start shading. first you choose the colors for it, and seperate them in four colors. The base color, the first shading, the second shading and the highlights. This will help you when you color it. Now that your done shading, this is how it will look like The second shading and highlights are completly optional, But it will give your picture much more depth.
2.Now continue doing this for all layers, make sure all of the CG layers are under the lineart layer and your newest CG layer should be on top of all of the other CG layers. But oh no! you have a dilema! if you have a white part, and you have a white background, all you have to do is Go to the bg layer, and change it into a color you are not using. and then color them like any other layer. once that is done, you can change the bg back to it's original color, and now your almost finished!
3.yes, almost finished! Next, You resize the picture to what you want it's size to be and then your done! save it as a PNG, JPEG, or whatever you want, and go stare at your masterpeice! But you might get a seizure if you stare at it too long D8.
Finished product:
tips: 1. It would be much easier if you do every CG layer with parts that are not touching each other. 2.NEVER I mean NEVER EVER use the burn tool with shading. It will look out..burnt instead of it being a shadow.
