Kayla and Kayura were sitting at a table in the corner of the room. They were suppose to be out having a normal young adult girls’ night out type thing. Katana had insisted on coming to the nightclub they were now at. Katana was out on the dance floor surrounded by a small group of hormonally driven guys.
The guys all seemed to be working hard to get their sister’s attention. She just smiled, brushed against them and battled her eyelashes at them. This seemed to drive the men even more crazy. They were elbowing each other while trying to get closer to her. Kayura rolled her eyes.
“Can you believe them?” She asked Kayla. Kayla was sipping her cranberry juice and writing on a small notepad.. She glanced up and leaned to the side to look past Kayura and see what she was talking about. She watched her younger sister a moment. “Yes. I believe it. That’s typical Katana style. Everywhere she goes the guys flock to her. She returned her attention to her notepad. Kayura continued watching her older sister dance. Some of the boys were wandering away as one guy wrapped his arms around her sister’s narrow waist. He leaned close to her ear for a moment then Katana started laughing. Several moments later he appeared to be kissing her neck and holding her tight. Kayura shock her head. Katana was normally shy unless she had a few drinks. Which she had. She turned back around and took a sip of her now warm water. “What are you working on Kay? “Nothing. Just writing down a few ideas so they don’t get forgotten.” “Oh…. Good idea.” She watched her oldest sister write for a bit longer then turned to check on Kat. Her sister was nowhere to be seen. “Where did she go? Did she go to the restrooms?” “What?” Kayla asked as she removed her glasses. “Katana. I don’t see her did she go to the bathroom?” “I’m not sure but I am heading there myself so I will check.” “Alright.” Kayura turned her attention to the crowded dance floor, scanning it for her sister. She couldn’t find her nor the gentlemen she had been dancing with. Kayla placed her glasses and notepad in her purse before leaving to the bathroom.
About a half hour later the two girls were worried. They had not seen Katana in a little over a half hour. Where could she be? Had something happened to her? Kayura headed outside to look for her sister and call her cell phone. Kayla walked around the club looking for her.
Kayura made her way outside and looked around. There were quite a few people out but not her sister. She decided to call Katana’s cell as she walked through the parking lot. Ring….ring…ring… Kayura rolled her eyes. As she walked through the parking lot. She stopped suddenly when she thought she heard a familiar song. Her sister’s ring tone. Kayura listened intently where she stood. Her sister’s voice mail picked up and Yura hung up. She called again and moved silently trying to find out where the sound was coming from. The familiar song played again as. Yura walked to and empty parking spot which is where she heard the song loudest. She looked around. This didn’t make sense! She hung up as the voicemail picked up once more. She called for a third time. Inching near a car beside the empty spot she was standing in. The music got even louder. She noticed something glowing under the car, just behind the tire. She bent down and grabbed the glowing thing and dragged from under the car a broken purse. She looked at the lavender colored phone and flipped it over. A black cat with jewel studs for eyes. It was her sister’s phone alright. She looked through the purse and found her sister’s ID and several other things that left her without a doubt. It was indeed her sister’s purse.
“I don’t know! She was there dancing I look away and she’s gone!” “Kayura its okay! Odin is just trying to understand what happened.” Kayla said as she stood up and placed an arm around Kayura’s shoulders. “That’s what I am saying! We don’t know nor understand what happened! She wouldn’t have left with him!” “It looks like maybe she went outside with him then someone forced her to go.” “She can handle herself! Who could have done this?” “I don’t know. If it’s a regular guy there is no doubt in my mind she can handle him. But you said she had a few drinks. The two were flirting. For the moment we can only think she went off with him. But that doesn’t explain why her purse was left behind nor why its ripped.” “She didn’t go with him! I know she did not leave willingly! Maybe the club, but the parking lot. No.” “Odin I agree with Yura. There is no way Kat would leave her purse, or without telling us. Something is wrong. Really wrong.”
