I... that... ok, you got me. A rat would not want to ride on a Catbus. But there were other characters a rat viewer could relate to, like those Soot sprites.

Umm, yeah, it felt kind of dumbed down. Which is weird. But, well... Family films should be entertaining for any age audience, but Ponyo felt like it was aimed more at the kiddies than most other Ghibli films. I think comparing it to Totoro is close, but even that movie had elements that older viewers could relate to. I mean who wouldn't want to ride a Catbus?

No, that doesn't sound familiar. -Googles- Oh wait, yeah, I saw a movie poster for this last time I went to the movies. It's gonna be the anime rendition of the Borrowers, right? Hmm, I dunno, what was the last movie they released? Ponyo? That one was kind of a let-down.
