There's no smoking in my car!
It was a nice and sunny day, and I was driving my car to work on the freeway, humming along my tunes when I smelled something burning, and before I knew it, there were smoke coming out of the steering column of the car! As I was trying to park the car, the engine stopped right in front of an intersection and the car wouldn't start up again. gonk
Turns out the ignition switch was shorted, and it needed to be replaced... strangest thing. A local mechanic replaced the ignition switch but left out a few wires which he though was for the alarm's "ignition kill switch". Though when I drove my car back home, I noticed that the alarm and remote was not working anymore! scream
Seeing that it was a Saturday and the repair shop was closed, I took the panels apart and tried to see what was going on... As it turns out, there wasn't just a wire, there were 4 wires that were cut off, and one of them is the main power for the alarm system. Had to spend 2 hours finding the problem and wiring things back up. One Saturday afternoon later, everything is working again. whee I hope that is the last time I'll see smoke inside my car...
Back in the office we're putting a lot of focus on the new site re-design. We're still aiming for the release to be this month, and many of us are working extra hard on the coding. The art team is also working hard on the summer event. This event will definitely be different from the rest.
