Lately I've been starting to get some free time to work on my own stuff during the weekends. It first started with me and CP spending hours playing Dynasty Warrior Gundam, now I'm back into building Gundam models again. I last built models when I was 11 years old, this time around I could finally afford an airbrush and build them properly to make them look good.
First came the airbrush, a "cheap" airbrush from Airtex (still cost $70 bucks)
Then I bought a cheap compressor and a big air tank seperately (compressor with big tanks are expensive)
I never knew airbrushing is so much fun! There is no "undo" button to remove mistakes, but it's surprisingly easy to control, and sometimes mistakes just make things look more realistic. biggrin Mixing colors, shading details, and sitting in the garage smelling the fumes is definitely more fun than building the model itself.
And after a month, I finally have my first two Gundam models built. Oh... my babies!
This is the RX93 nu-Gundam, I got to play with using dark blue to shade the white and black to shade the blue areas. Had to color the model twice because I didn't like how the color turned out the first time.
The Sazabi is the nu-Gundam's rival. I got to put a layer of silver underneath a layer of clear red which gave it a "new car" look. smile
This is the closest thing to being an artist as I can get. sweatdrop
