~~~Episode 2~~~
The final bell rang, and students ranging from the ages of 14-19 filed out into the hallways and out through any door aviable. The dark clouds from earlier had began to threaten with thunder and lightning, and a sharply cold breeze had began to blow. Yuri zipped up her black jacket, shivering as she walked along outside. She walked to and from school, except on days when there was snow, but that was a different story. The school was empty in a matter of minutes, only a few teachers and students were left wandering the grounds.
The rumors had flown like ravens through the school, from tales of a bear getting into the gym and the soda machine catching on fire and exploding. Yet, none of them came close to what Yuri knew had really happened. She sighed, pulling the hood of her jacket up as the wind began to irritate her. She was almost off the school grounds when a strange darkness came over. She looked up, seeing the clouds had turned a nasty dark grey, almost black.
Without warning, the wind picked up violently, howling angrily like a monster. Yuri gritted her teeth, covering her face with her arms and trying to continue walking. She was stunned by the sheer strength of the wind as it literally pushed her back. Yuri stumbled, falling backwards as the wind blasted her back. She fell onto the grass, cursing loudly. Yuri went to sit up when she saw a trashcan crashing towards her, being blasted forward by the wind. She yelled, jumping to her feet as it blew past. "Whats going on?!" she said as she struggled to remain standing.
Suddenly, dark areas began to appear on the ground around her. Yuri gasped as the creatures from earlier began to rise up, except hundreds of them were pulling themselves free from the ground. The darkness they had risen from began to spread, and even more appeared, sliding silently up from the abyss they were creating. Yuri looked around, trying to find somewhere to run. She was still on school grounds, but to far away from the building to try and reach it. There was a loud creaking sound, and Yuri whipped around to see one of the lightpoles tilting and swaying dangerously as the wind continued to howl. Then it fell, crashing down with a clang of metal, sparks emitting from the bulb. Yuri had been so distracted by the pole falling, that she hadn't realized the creatures had crept towards her. She glanced back just as one leapt, knocking her down to the ground with a single slash. Yuri cried out as she hit the ground, grabbing her arm as pain shot through it. The creature had cut right through her jacket without even trying, leaving gashes in her arm. Yuri sat up, scooting back in an attempt to get distance between her and the shadow creatures. Darkness began to creep in, like the sun had been swallowed. All around, Yuri could hear people shouting and fighting, trying to save themselves and others from the bizarre events that had come upon them so quickly, but it all began to seem useless. Yuri backed up into a fence, her eyes widening as the creatures came closer, clawing with black nails.
Yuri felt fear pulse through her, and she screamed as the creatures came at her in a flurry of movement. A blur came into sight, slashing through the shadows and stopping in front of her as they faded into black smoke. Yuri looked up to see the back of the boy from before.
"Haku?!" she said, relief in her voice as well as confusion.
"I have no time to talk, the heartless have found the heart of your world. You and your world are in grave danger." he said. The shadows were backing up a little, hissing silently at Haku. Haku glanced at her, "Get up. You can fight, so dont just sit there cowering."
"Are you kidding me?! I cant fight those th-"
Haku grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her roughly to her feet.
"You can fight, and you will. Your the only one who can see me, so you must have some magic within you. Just focus on something hot, and lash out at them!" Haku said. The neoshadows began to creep closer now that Haku had not made any signs of attacking, and Yuri shook her head.
"I cant!"
"Just do it!" Haku snapped. Yuri closed her eyes, 'Something hot, something hot!' she thought quickly. A volcano came into mind, and she focused. "Firaga!" the words spilled from her mouth, she didn't even know what she had said for a moment until fire blazed from her fingertips, scorching the shadows. Her eyes went wide, "Whoa..." she said, looking at her hands in awe. Haku nodded, then grabbed her hand, "Come on! This world wont be stable for much longer!" he yelled. Yuri followed him, leaving the burning heartless as he led her towards the back of the school. All around, the trees and grass were crumpling and dying, and the screams of people began to fade. Heartless were everywhere, in some places the ground seemed to be alive with them. Haku came into the field, and put his hand out. A large ship suddenly appeared, its colors drasticly different from the dark surroundings. Haku ran underneath it, then reached out and pushed a couple buttons, opening a panel in the bottom. "Hurry!" he said as he pulled himself up through the open panel. Yuri reached up, and he pulled her up inside, shutting the panel behind her.
"What is this thing?" Yuri asked as Haku ran towards a control panel, pushing buttons franticly. "Its my Gummi Ship! Now get in a seat and buckle up, its about to get rough!" he said. Through the windshield, Yuri could see the storm clouds beginning to lower, the darkness spreading. Her school looked like it had been abandoned for centuries, the grounds nothing but death and dirt. Yuri went to stand as Haku sat in the driver's seat, and the Gummi Ship blasted off. Yuri was stunned by the sudden take off, and fell back, hitting her head against something. Everything went dark as she saw her world falling apart.
