Chapter 1:Bandits

Six years ago…
“Come on Januro mom says suppers ready!”
“Ok I’m coming!” Said ten year old Januro. “ Just give me a sec. Isis.
“But mom said to come home now!” Said Isis.
As soon as januro and Isis started home they heard the warning bell.
“What do you think it is?” Said Isis a bit worried
“I don’t know but I it’s not going to be some thing very pleasant.” Said Januro.
They took of at a run towards the village. As soon as they got there they found at least five hundred bandits riding strait towards the village.
“Quick” Cried Januro “ go home and get me dad’s sword!”
“But Januro” said Isis.
“NOW” yelled Januro.
Isis turned and ran to the house. Januro waited for a minute and Isis came out with the sword. Januro grab it and headed to the village.
The bandits made it to the village and were killing people left and right.
Januro must have brought down at least a dozen of those filthy rotten scoundrels. Suddenly there was a scream coming from the top of the hill. It was Isis, bandits were going towards her and the house.
“Leave her alone!” yelled Januro as loud as he could.
But it was to late one of the bandits struck her down and five more were headed towards the house yelling, “it might be in there!” Then another scream and the whole house went up in flames.
“No!” cried Januro “ No!”
“Well, well look what I found here, oh it’s a survivor” Said a cool female voice. Januro turned slowly around holding his father’s sword so tight the handle threatened to snap off. “ You know I’ll give you a chance to run away it makes killing you so much more fun and I like a good chase” said the female.
“No I won’t run,” said Januro fiercely
Januro wasn’t going to die like the others running and screaming, no he was going to stand tall and strait and face his own death strait in the eye. But instead of killing him like he thought she was the female just sat on her damn horse and smiled bitterly.
“Well aren’t you going to kill me,” said Januro.
“No I don’t think I will,” she said playfully like a cat toying with it’s pray before the pounce.
“But I will leave you with something to remember me bye till the next time we meet.”
The next thing Januro saw was a flash of a blade and a cut deep enough to leave a scar had appeared across his left cheek.

Chapter 2: The Dragon’s Eye

Januro walked slowly up the hill. Tears were streaming down his face he had failed the village he had failed himself he had failed his father who told him before he died to protect the village. Januro was half way up the hill when he saw something move from the corner of his eye. He looked over and saw his mother one her back trying to get up. Januro ran to her.
“Mother!” Januro cried
“Januro” she said. “I want you to take this and go far from this place and never return.” Her hand slowly opened to reveal a crystal in the shape of an eye.
“W-what is it?” Asked Januro tearfully
“It’s called the Dragon’s Eye take it and leave” then with that she passed in to the next world. Januro took the crystal gathered up the things he needed from the remains of the village and headed out alone and orphaned.

Chapter 3: Noka

Six years later…
Januro woke with a start his crystal the Dragon’s Eye it was called was glowing brightly it did that when someone he didn’t know and trust was around.
“Who’s there?” Januro said sternly.
Januro waited a few seconds then finely a boy that looked about Januro’s age walked out of the bushes.
“Name’s Noka” he said. “ I was walking past here when something started to glow. What’s your name?” said Noka with a smile.
“Januro. And what are you so happy about?” said Januro frowning
“Don’t know I just am. What are you so mad about?” Noka asked
“None of your business.” Januro snapped at Noka
“Ok Mr. Grumpy pants.” Noka joked.
“Shouldn’t you be doing something?” said Januro getting annoyed.
“Sadly no” said Noka with the biggest smile yet.
“May I sit with you?” asked Noka.
Januro shook his head. But Noka still sat down by him. Surprisingly Januro found himself talking to Noka and even laughed when Noka said something funny or stupid.
“You know I haven’t had this much fun in six years,” said Januro.
“Wow that’s along time!” said Noka.
“So what’s your story?” Asked Januro.
“My story?” Noka said like he was confused.
“You know… your life story. Like why are you out here all alone. Where’s your family?” said Januro.
“Oh…That story.” Said Noka the smile falling from his face.
There was a long uncomfortable pause until Noka Finally came around to telling Januro his story.
“Well it happened about four years ago…” Noka Began. “I was with my best friend Kita when we heard screaming from the south village… my home. Kita and I ran towards the village and found the village being burned to the ground. We heard yells from behind us…'there are survivors here I see,' said a female voice. Her voice was like ice smooth, cold, and cruel.”
Januro shivered he new that very same voice.
“Anyway…” continued Noka. “ Kita and I took off at a run with the bandits not far behind. Kita started to slow down but I hadn’t seen that she was falling behind. The bandits caught her with four arrows in the back…” a tear fell from Noka’s face. “ I kept going on with out looking back at … at Kita’s broken body.” Another tear fell. “Then I heard one of the bandits”… 'He’s to fast! We can catch him!'..
'Then shoot him damn it… that’s what your arrows are for!' called the cruel female.
“The next thing I know,” said Noka. “Is that arrows are flying past me and two of them hit me in my back. I staggered a bit but kept running despite the pain. Then another bandit spoke”… 'He won’t go down and my arrows are gone!'… “ After that…” said Noka. “The woman bandit came up and put a knife though him. That’s the last of what I saw of those horrid people.” Finished Noka.
“Did the bandits look as if they were trying to find some thing?” asked Januro
“As a matter of fact yeah they did.” Said Noka “ I forgot to say that the woman thought that I had something… I don’t know what but she thought I had it.”
“… So what’s your story?” Asked Noka.
“Fine if you really want to know here it is…!” Said Januro sternly.
Januro told him the whole story…the bandit raid, them killing his sister and the whole village, and about how his mother died after giving him the crystal. He also told Noka about how he got the scar on his face.
“After that…” Said Januro “ I went from village to village training with any Fighting Master I could find… some of them taught me Marshal Arts… the others just taught me how to handle my sword and a bow with a few arrows. Some of the families I stayed with asked me if I wanted to stay with them permanently…But I had to turn them down…told them I have too much unfinished business to handle.”
Looks like we have the same type of life…different but the same.” Said Noka. “But I learned how to use daggers…and I taught my self.
