Ryuu-san and the tears from the sky
Ryuu-san did not know why he kept looking down at the earth... it's as if something were calling him. He also did not know why he would glance at his once charished meeting spot, thinking therre would be some sympathy there waiting for him...

His eyes must have been playing tricks on him. For what he saw was his ever missed Hebi-san. She slithered around looking ever proud, for nothing had phazed her. It was as if she were untouchable by sorrow. He shut his eyes, and the lids squoze hard trying not to imagine the days where he was filled with joy. But they were wrenched open, as his soul did not allow him to look away. He continued to watch her, he did not know why anymore.

He blinked his eyes a couple of times for he thoguht he was seeing an illusion. For behind Hebi-san another being followed behind her... It was another snake. He scoffed, knowing that this was one of her followers, one who branded Ryuu-san as a fool. But no. Not this time. The other snake had a different aura present around. The new snake crept close to Hebi-san and the dragon's eyes widened with shock. This was no follower... For he now saw that this snake was none other than a male.

"What is this...?" trembled the words from his mouth.

He watched closely. The male snake was not following close as a clan, but rather, it was quite evident to Ryuu-san. This was a new partner Hebi-san had found... He now noticed the other zodiac animals rejoicing around them. His eyes could not tear away from the sight. He was petrified... He saw her smile that she would always give to him, but now this smile had burned his thoughts, rather than make him happy.

"I am too much a fool." he whispered to himself. "She will not even confront me... But who would confront a being in the sky..."

there was no more positive thought in him. He had lost this enduring battle, and he was now left behind to rott. It was clear to him he had no importance anymore... for it was not even half a year for Hebi-san to recover... not even a quarter. He started to laugh... but surely it was not joyful. it was empty... his laugh had a maniacle ring to it.

"Fool!" He yelled to himself. "A being in the sky does not move on! It is stuck in the sky not able to move... only to imagine with the ideas that never reach the earth!"

His own laugh peirced his heart. He recalled all the talks with the spiirit and recalled key comments it had made. If there was a lesson to actually be learned, he was close to learning it. If there was anyone who was to grow up, it was him. There was no motivation or optimism left in the mystical dragon. Silence struck the sky as he now lay lifeless in the clouds. He was able to see what was to come in their futures. Hebi-san would continually be happy, as he was left in sorrow. Lifeless he lay, not knowing what to do. There was now no more hope, nor use in visiting the meeting grounds. It was silent... and for once in many years, the dragon's eyes filled with tears. His pride, shattered. the tears came down uncontrolingly, as he visioned the times he enjoyed. The sky started to rain down on the other animals... but they were not ordinary raindrops, no. They were the tears of Ryuu-san, yet no one knew, and even more so, cared to notice.

He was no longer fit to be called a dragon. His true sincere smile, gone. His pride, shattered. And his tears, no longer held back. Situations only grew worse. Not only did he now lack in optimism, but his inner flame had also been blown out. His one and only inspiration had been taken away. His grip on the sky seemed to loosen. he looked behind himself to discover his wings began to slowly disintegrate. The sky no longer wished to accept him as well. He watched slowly as his wings began to dissapear, until they were nothing.

He plummeted to the earth at an alarming pace at which seemed like an eternity to Ryuu-san. His "golden days" flashed before his eyes, and wondered if he had wasted his time, or was it an experience that was worth it. The drop to the earth seemed to last a life time. He watched the sky rush before him, at which his scenary soon turned to trees. He landed ungracefully with a loud crash that only the forest could hear. He did not wish to arise... There was nohing for him to raise up for....

His wings, gone. His flame blown out. And his life seemed worthless. The only thing that did seem to appear were his tears he did not wish to show... It was a sad sight indeed. The dragon had lost all of which the other animals had admired. He did not know what to do. Lifeless, he went unconscious... not out of exaustion or injury, but out of heartbreak, which hurt much more than any fall...
