Peaches
Chapter: one
I ran silently though the streets, trying to avoid them. They were pursuing me and I had already been on the on the run for about an hour. However, I didn’t mind. I enjoyed the rush that I got from running, hiding, and when I got the chance striking with my own comebacks. It was dark and it seemed very quite. I decided to take a break. I walked over to the nearest alley and sat down. No way I was getting caught, the game had started long ago and I already made it this far. In a kneeling position I sat, I wanted to be ready if I had to make a quick escape at the last moment and needed to think of a plan. Anything or something to out smart the other so, I can come out victorious and win this game, and I hadn’t won in a while. However, I know whatever I do I must do it fast before he finds me. In these games you can never stay hidden for long and you have to use the darkness of night or dark areas to your advantage. I shut my eyes trying again to think clearly, bad idea. Right on cue, I felt a strong pull on my jacket. Instantly I was pulled up by my collar. All I could think was, “Oh s**t!” I was caught. I had though I lost. “Remotto, what the hell were you thinking?!” I hadn’t lost, the persons voice, I would have known it from anywhere. “Haste?” I said it questionably as if not sure. The man didn’t answer. All he did was help me up and hit me lightly on the back of the head. “Who else,” he asked? “So, did you get it yet?” “No….,” I replied, a little upset that I hadn’t. “I am guessing you didn’t get it either.” I looked at him when I said it and all I got in return was a slight glare. “I got close.” He said bluntly. I could tell he was a little upset. Capture the Flag was one of his favorite games, especially when the game was extended all though town. My friends and I usually just played at our high school academy but, we wouldn’t let the chance pass by to use the whole town. However, we could only do that on two conditions, our masters were out on business and it most likely had to be after hours. This way none of the others would tell on us and we wouldn’t disturb too many people. Besides I know the real reason we play at night isn’t not to get caught, it is because Tyomu loves the dark. I continued to keep my mouth shut, ever defining the cold silence that had covered the alley with its presence. However, I obviously couldn’t stay in silence long because after about only two or three minutes I was hit with another blow to the head. This time it was a sharp painful hit but, not enough to hurt me to bad. “Get up, we got to keep going or we r gonna get caught.” I rubbed my head as I tried to lessen the pain and focus on what Haste was saying. Another reason I didn’t want to get caught was it was two against one. If Haste and I lost, Tyomu would never let us live it down. “You think he has got our flag yet …Tyomu I mean,” I asked slowly still recovering from the hit. I got to my feet and looked around. “Haste?” I had still gotten no answer to my question and wasn’t getting one because, again Haste had abandoned me. He always did it just to win. Haste and Tyomu were really competitive like me. Heck I was more competitive than Haste! The difference was that even since we were young Haste would leave you at anytime if it wasn’t going to kill you and Tyomu would stand by you if you needed a hand. “Damn,” I mutter to myself once again roaming the streets alone. I keep telling myself I got to stay alert or I will get caught for real but, for some reason my body won’t listen to me. I keep going into deep thought or getting tired. Lately it has been hard for me to concentrate. I keep dreaming about this girl. This may sound normal to you though because, you might say, you are a guy and probably have a crush on this girl. That could be true but, it is not. Why? I am not afraid to say that I am gay because, I am. The dreams of her are weird though. She keeps saying you need to find it or something like that. When I dream or think of her the strangest thing is…….she looks exactly like me if I were a girl. She has my light-blue faded hair that cuts into bangs in the front. Our hair contains the same tones to it and the same textures as my own. I have long spiked/shaggy hair but, if I grow it down to my a** like hers we could look like identical twins! The most similar thing about her is, by far, her intense eyes. Ever since I was young I always though my eyes were my best feature. They were a strict, spiraling shade of violet that was deep and along the edges of the pupil extended into short light shades of purple. My eyes were original and even though they had a sharp look to them, showed off as innocent as they or I wanted them to. The girl’s eyes had mine down to an exact, mind blowing replica. It was almost scary. It was like we were the same person. By this time I was sitting down by the side of another building and again, you guessed it, in an alley way. Then it was back, that same hard pull on the back of my collar. Except this time it was harder and I could tell it wasn’t Haste. All of a sudden I was pulled upward being practically straggled! Long-straight-tangled-light-green hair swept over me as I struggled to get away. “Let. Go…now!” I stammered out. Finally I was put back on the ground but, my collar was still held with a tight grasp. “Ok! Ok! Sorry but, that should teach you not to keep your head in the clouds while playing a game like this you goofball!” He half-scolded me with a laugh and from the sound of the voice I again knew who it was, Tyomu. He soon let go and of course I tried to run for it. However, I should have known Tyomu wasn’t that stupid as to just let me escape. The moment I ran he tackled me to the ground. “Get the ******** off me!” I yelled frantically trying to escape from under him. Then I fell my face turn red and I looked away to hide it. Then I felt Tyomu tighten his grasp on my body as he pulled me up to my feet once more. This time he kept a hold of me. “I see I can’t go easy on you. Where is Haste?” “Like I am going to rat him out now.” Honestly I have no idea where Haste is. If Tyomu knew that he would have the advantage though so, I kept my mouth sealed of that fact. All I could do was hope Haste was having better luck then me and had gotten Tyomu’s flag already. That hope was sent flying out the window when Haste came in and tackled Tyomu. Then he called out to me, “Run!” He threw me a flag and not just any flag but, Tyomu’s. My hope was sent back instantly. Quickly Haste forced Tyomu to the wall with Tyomu’s arm forced behind his back. “You are faster then me! Bring the flag to our territory,” he yelled to me restraining the green haired man. I knew Tyomu wouldn’t be held down by Haste for long so I made a run for it. As I jetted down the streets I looked around. I couldn’t see though. At the speed I was going everything was a blur. I stopped for a moment and saw a familiar spot, our “house”. It belonged to Tyomu, Haste, and I and it wasn’t really a house just the place where our masters kept us. Anyway, beyond that point there was a tree and after the tree is where my territory was. Then I heard it, the sound of heavy foot steps. I heard it them up coming fast. Tyomu must have gotten free and Haste was chasing him. Like hell if I was gonna just stand there, I ran once more. As the hot night air pushed and pressured across my cheeks and skin I continued running like hell. No way is he getting me now! Then it was there, the territory line was right in front of me and all I had to do was take a few more steps. I was so close to victory that I could taste it! It was me and Haste’s victory today! At least I though that until, I tripped. -End of Chapter: one-
