amusedwriter rambles
Things I write for no apparent reason other than to pass the time. Most stories have no endings, but contain an awful lot of meaningless dialogs. Other entries are basically boring life occurrences that have nothing to do with my stories whatsoever.
Katrinka: the Story of a Russian Child (is found)/I'mBurning
I've discovered (again) the book I had found earlier this spring. I kinda forgot I had it with the overflow of assignments, but I found it and it is beautiful. It is a story about a little Russian girl and although I have not read it yet, I know it has to be good. Some say don't judge a book by its cover, but sue me I do it all the time. I picked it up at some rummage sale and even though it is in "rough condition" and missing the first 12 pages sweatdrop . It turned out absolutely perfect when I discovered an internet copy of the full edition, which is printable. It's called Katrinka: the story of a Russian Child by Helen Eggleston Haskell. It was published sometime before 1928 (date stamped on the inside cover as being the entry of it into a library log) and it is completely gorgeous...It has a beautiful crimson shaded cover and has the double eagle crest printed on the binding. I found it mixed in with my various other old books that I've collected and it will look just as great in your collection, Lydia! I knew I'd be making you envious, so obviously because it is Russian it is yours!!! Very fitting..... mrgreen . Anyways, I've finished many of the books you let me borrow and I'll finish the last of them while on the drive down to New Jersey. You'll get them back sometime next week....whenever we plan a movie outting for all of us.

Now I've made myself very sad... I've reminded myself that I will be gone all this week starting tomorrow! crying Alan's got a new laptop (it cost a bundle, frankly I'm jealous) but it doesn't have internet capabilities as of yet, so I may not be able to post my entries as I usually do! Two words "family vacation" evil and caniving I must say. The trip will last hours of driving with the incessant whining of my siblings who will be within choking distance the whole way. The place is Wildwood, New Jersey. A wide stretch of beaches, boardwalks, and a theme park. That's right folks, they are taking me to a beach. For those of you who do not know, I'm pale and 25% Irish which unfortunately at this time is not my recessive trait. Normally I like being Irish, but at about this time next week I will be home as red as a lobster, laugh all you want, Lydia and fellow reader!!!! But the "vacation" consists of sun, sun, and more sun, much to my dissatisfaction. For the record, there is no salvation within museums this time, oh no, the only "historic" relevance within that area is the various 1950's hotels, which in my opinion, is not even close to being historic! I'm very unhappy about this and I know you're laughing, Lydia!!! Hopefully one of those shops on the boardwalk can give me some safe ground from the horrible glaring sun! I'm most dissappointed that I can't keep up my posts, so first chance I get I'll clue you all in. I certainly hope for an antique shop to remain open for my viewing pleasure along the way down. I've got no hope for finding one in that tourist sest pool of a place. With deep regret I say, soo long my dear readers!!! I really do hope you don't keep laughing at me or anything, while I'm gone! Enjoy the few stories you have at this point....

There's one more thing....If you wish for me to finish the beautiful story of the brother-sister duo, I do hope that you will post as many name ideas as you wish before I leave tomorrow morning, because I hope to work on it over this week, while hiding beneath the frail thing of an umbrella. I may just use "Dana" for the girl, but keep posting suggestions!!!
