If only the sun ran out of heat when there was war.

If only the sea stopped pulsing at the sound of
sadness.

If only the moon cried with us when we were
disappointed.
If only.
If only the grass stopped growing at the slightest
hint of anger.
If only,
If only the snow on the highest mountain paused when
we felt anguish.
If only.
If only, if just for a moment, the inner light of
something went out,
Along with the light of something more.
