We're past the half-way point in 2007 now, and my life has been on a steady decline since the beginning. It all started with one phone call I got back in April. I was at school and my mom calls my cell phone from Ellis Hospital. She says that she is sending me home to see Nana and I'll stay until Sunday (this was on a Wed). I knew what was going on, even though she wouldn't tell me. When we got to the hospital, I go see Nana, then my mom takes me into a small aside room where the rest of the family is. Mom says that she needs to tell me something about Nana, and I say to her "She isn't going to make it." Mom didn't understand at the time how i knew right away, but she figured out how easy it was to add up all the signs. Nana passed away that Friday morning, and life has sucked for the most part since. About a month after she passes, we find out that my other grandmother has lung cancer. The tumor is in a spot blocking one of her lungs, so that lung has collapsed. She's about 5'4", 100 pounds (no joke) and it is literally like looking at a skeleton when you see her. She won't be able to take chemotherapy, so the only choices it seems are either radiation or let it play out. They are doing other tests to find out if it spread to other parts of her body as precautions (brain, liver, bones, etc). And, to top it all off, my baseball team (the cardinals) are not playing that well. I can't wait to see what 2008 brings.
