So, yesterday was the Fourth of July (Independence Day, here in the USA). A happy day, desho? Sure, whatever. Okay, but that's not what I wanna talk about. I want to talk about the day BEFORE that, Tuesday the third.
Okay, so I used to live in public housing (for us poor folk who can't afford our own homes like you rich people reading this) until a year (whoa, exactly one year today! O_o). It was across the street from a strip mall, which hid a full-size mall behind it. At night, no stars were EVER visible and it was not a pretty sight . So, you can imagine how happy I was when I moved to the "country", where there are stars galore! I know this is kind of "Hope Is Emo"-style, but nobody even appreciates the STARS anymore. I mean, I was outside two days ago, right? BEAUTIFUL night, tons of stars, no clouds, pitch black sky, beauty to the max, so I decided to go stand out on my balcony. I had a friend over (my neighbour), and I was saying how beautiful the stars were. My friend literally grabs me by the wrist and drags me back inside. I mean, I don't remember exactly what was said, but I ended up wondering: Where are people's principals and beliefs? You don't take the time to look at the stars and wonder where the universe ends? You step on people's gravestones? I find that so disrespectful! I have friends that STEAL things from graves. I mean, please, this is just so horrible. What is this world coming to? I'm fourteen, people, so I should act like these horrid people that are still my friends, right? I wasn't raised that way. I was raised learning about respect and kindness. I was taught to be honest and not to do drugs or drink, I was taught to be literate... little things that make me a "goody-goody". People these days are plain horrible! If you agree with me, please respond to this with your thoughts.
*Note*
LOL, OMG, etc., when used once in a while does NOT make you illiterate. It makes you human.
