I was in the car with my sister and Brother in law (Tori and Zach), we were going to go eat at a friends. We round a corner on the highway and see a huge cloud of dust rising off the side of the road. At first it just looked like a strong gust of wind, until Zach notices the skid marks. . . and the tipped car. He tells tori to stop the car as we are about to pass it. As we pull over and before we are stopped me and Zach are bolting towards the car, which we half thought was on fire. We run down the ditch and jump the fence it is over, and as we were nearing all we hear is the hysterical screams of a girl calling for help. When we get to the car she had crawled out her window and was yelling "Save my baby! Oh God! He's in the back!" ( she is standing and yelling, not my first concern at this moment now) I drop down to the ground and look in the crushed driver's side window to look for her baby, and the first thing I see, is a hand of a woman with a ring, motionless. It seemed like forever as I looked in horror as I realize what I am actualy seeing for that breif second before I looked back for the baby. Other people are running up and start to climb in from the back window to get the baby ( they get him out he isn't even scratched ) , from where I looked in, I could not get to it. I stand up and run aroudn to the other sideofthe car to turn my atention to the other person in the car, the one who I had seenher arm laying limp onthe roof of the overturned car. as i near the other side the door is utterly ripped off, and the lady is there, not moving, and at first, didn't seem to be breathing. Asi look in closer when i droptot he ground and look in the crushed door frame now the size of a window, my heart sinks. She lay motionless, hanging from the seat belt, head bent awekwardly and pinned against the ground beneith her, and the pressure of the smashed car above her. Though my mind all i can think is she is dead, her neck is snapped and she is dead. But then i hear a muffled breath, gurgling as blood came out with it. if flowed down her fair into her hair and pooled on the roof of the car. I cannot move her, with possible neck/back damage. Her breaths grow shorter and further apart as the ambulance are on the way, closest hospital, over 20 mins. And all I can do is sit there, helpless, able todo nothing to help, able to do nothing, as the horror of a life slipping away unfolds before my eyes. I couldn't even comfort her in her last moments, I had gotten cuts while this all played out, and her daughter had said the mom was HIV posistive. All I could do was helplessly watch, and hope that they got there soon.
