So still reading 2 Chronicles..I thought of all the many kings Judah and Israel had, are there any great ones? Of course David.. but after that it seemed like a downfall. But kings can't be perfect, so all of them had some sort of fall. Like Uzziah, he became over run with pride so much that he thought himself higher than priests in God's temple! Hezekiah cleaned up all the crap from his father, but he was also flawed. There is no perfect king in the new testament, they all sin, the ones who admit their flaws and ask for forgiveness go down in jewish and christian history as the best kings. It just goes to show how much Israel needed a king, an everlasting PERFECT non screw-up king. One that wouldn't fall into sin, even if tempted. Know who that was? Jesus. There's so many symbols in the old testament that radiates Jesus. My pastor was talking about it, and I never realized it..
Abraham was about to sacrifice his son(sound familar?) on the SAME mountain christ died. If that isn't a preview enough, a LAMB replaces the son. Christ is the lamb replacing us for our sin punishment. It's just hard to believe the movie preview one has with old testament. More christians need to read it too, you can quote all you want from Matthew...but if you can't remember what Matthew quoted, that's malarky. XD The old testament is so huge, sometimes it's hard to read, especially Chronicles. The first Chronicles is like.. a laundry list of an enitre nation, that makes my head spin! It's always easy to read Pslams or John, but I think I'm really going to stick with this reading the old testament(until the end, anyway), hopefully God will set my mind on reading. I seriously try to read everyday, and I miss it so much when I miss a day. I go.. DOHH! Like Homer. sweatdrop
