I can't accept this. It's not true. I can't believe this. But the stark reality is in front of me. Half of the world's population has been wiped from existence. And all of that half included people I knew personally. My friends and family were all targeted. But we escaped. We escaped and left everyone else to die.
It happened so suddenly. I was off to school, dressed and ready. I showed up to school and was told my shirt was inappropriate. (I replied sarcastically, "What do you want me to wear instead then?" but was ignored.) Then, the sky went dark. I looked up and saw this enormous slab of rock poised over the school, about to fall and crush us all. I stared at it in horror as others saw it and began to panic. The school was told to evacuate but oddly everyone outside of the school seemed to be expecting this.
I finally found myself able to move and ran to my car. My special car that my brother and I had transformed into a mechanical wonder. I got in and shut the door. I fumbled with my keys as I tried to insert it into the ignition, all the while unable to stop staring at my doom. I called my friend over and several other people. They climbed into my car as it roared to life.
I threw my car into drive and slammed down hard on the gas. We sped down the street past other cars fleeing the stone slab. I wove through traffic while I yelled to my passengers, "This is gonna be rough!" I continued to floor my car as we ducked through cars. Everyone was filled with fear and I could feel it clawing at my reason.
Away. We had to get away and so I continued my frantic driving. We left the city and soon entered a tunnel. Everyone was slightly calmer here. We burst into the new city only to be greeted by the sight of fire trucks and other emergency vehicles blocking the next intersection save for one street. It is only a moment before we see why. Before us is a tornado coming down out of the sky, with no source.
And we all know it's coming for us. Because for whatever reason, we have been sentenced to death. I jerk the steering wheel to the left and we leave the deadly intersection behind. But we can hear those being caught in the twister, screaming, crying for help. But we must get away.
"Look!" my friend screams and I glance to the right. She is pointing to a water spout that is rapidly forming. And it's coming after us. I turn us around and we head back towards the tunnel. We make it inside to find hundreds of people fleeing like us in their cars from the tornado and water spout.
I desperately weave through the traffic. When the day finds us again, I do something I swore I never would. I hit the button which engages my car's hover capabilities and we soar off into the air. But it is in vain for the tornado, water spout, and now the stone follow us. And a huge thunderstorm is brewing. Just as we are caught up within the storm, I activate the time travel function.
We rip through the fabric of time and space, hurtling towards some unknown century. We slow and exit the time stream. We enter a new century in the future and find that, despite the fact that we are now at least a hundred years after that apocalypse, we blend in. For here, cars fly. I steer us into a less crowded street and land.
I am voted to go obtain clothing and food as I am the owner of the car. I go, knowing that we are now starting a new life. I also know that I will go back and save my family. As soon as I get the clothes, I return to the car. I leave my fellow escapees in an alley and start my car. I start the time travel and soar back to the previous century, one day before the doom of half the world comes.
I bring the dearest people and most precious things with me to the future. My family, my friends, and my personal belongings. We settle in the future. We know we are safe from the things that hunted us. They are in the past. Because according to this future's history, on that day, everyone who came with me to the future died in that disaster. So many died that they ended up recording only those who survived. Because of this, we are safe. In their minds, we are dead. We are alive because of some tinkering though. We are alive.

Ringo-Ichigo's random stories
I'll just be writing short stories up here about whatever I feel like. They could be fanfiction, mysteries, ghost stories, dreams, or anything. Think of this as a little smidgen of what goes on in my head.
For many crowns of violets
and roses
at my side you put on
and many woven garlands
made of flowers
around your soft throat
not one girl I think
who looks on the light of the sun
will ever
