I woke up and walked down to the nearby stream to wash my face. the icy water definatelly woke me up, but it didn't prepare me for the guard who was pointing his blade at me. i whipped around and stared into the guards cold face.
"Finally found you, demon." He said with a slight smirk. I winced and remembered his scarred face. 'damn... i can't believe that they caught up to me this fast...'
"Erik... how'd you find me so fast?" I asked getting to my feet. the guard frowned and raised the blade as i stood up.
"don't even think about it, jamii." He growled through clenched teeth. "I'm getting wise to your mind tricks." I nibbled on my lip for awhile and looked away.
"What do you mean?" I asked trying to locate David, but couldn't find him. 'I wonder where he is...'
"Don't even think about calling out to your new friend." Erik laughed noting me look around. I shifted my gaze back to Erik and glared.
"What do you mean? You better not have done anything to him!" I hissed angrily. Erik took a step back and i noticed that his sword hand was shaking slightly.
"Don't... don't look at me with those eyes..." Erik said as i watched him. 'My eyes? did he see something?'
"Where is he, Erik?" I ordered taking a step closer to the blade. "If you don't tell me i'll... i'll take off the collar." I reached a hand up to my neck slowly and gently fingered the strings that held the collar to my neck. Erik lowered the blade and stared at me.
"You wouldn't... remember what happened the last time you did that?" Erik said sliding the blade into it's sheath. Images of numerous dead bodies covered in blood filled my mind, and one image stayed. i was holding a girl with flowing blue hair in my blood splattered arms. 'Ryn...' i thought as her face burned itself into my memory.
"You think i'd forget something like that?! I killed my best friend! she died in my arms, and you think i'd forget something like that?!" I cried shaking my head. i could hear rustling in the bushes and noticed David's eyes watching me.
"David..." I whispered as Erik lunged at me with his sword drawn. I caught the shine of the metal too late. I fell to my knees with Erik's blade through my chest. the last thing i saw before falling into infinate darkness was David's face staring straight into my own.
"David..." I murmured as i closed my eyes, letting the pain and darkness finally wash over me.
