Medieval Fantasy Types
Jayara (Jay) Galanmion

Dominant Hand: She's ambidextrous, but preference right hand
[Hair & Style:]

Example:
[Pic 1A] -- Round face like what Jay has as well as hair color (though Jay's hair isn't near as long and is almost never down). The mood about her is similar to the impression that Jay would give off as well.
[Pic 1B] -- With a less pointy chin, this would be an excellent example. Additionally, Jay's ears aren't pointy and, as mentioned before, her hair is almost never down but the hair length is just a little bit longer than Jay's.
[Body - Build:]
-- Medium build
-- Almost flat-chested (maybe an A-cup at best)
-- Toned muscles but not bulky (aka: she looks fit)

[Pic 1C] -- A good example of possibly what Jay would look like under a cloak.
[Pic 1A] -- Age the girl a few years to about 23 & you would have Jayara. This could have been her in her upper teens? The current Jay is not as skinny/a little more built than the girl in this picture.
[Pic 1B] -- The age might be about right here and this is about the closest I think I will ever come to finding a similar body type.
[Common Clothing:]
(Feel free to have free reign on what ranger clothing Jay is wearing as well as the design of any of the clothing bits. I would absolutely prefer your artistic touch over a replica of what's seen in these pictures.)
General outfit consists of:
+ a hooded cape/cloak (usually a non-bright green or grey-green, though if green doesn't work fee free to change it )
+ short tunic/shirt
+ pants
+ brown, knee-high leather boots (no laces, please)
+ leather gloves (in colder weather only)
x No skirts/dresses.
-- Most common colors are various shades of brown or green, sometimes rustic red or gray
-- Most clothing material is made out of leather or linen (wool, cotton, etc... whatever makes sense for the particular rp at hand)
Examples:
[Pic 1D] -- AWESOME green and brown colors here. The coat design is just an idea to add to the possible creativity pile.
[Pic 1E] -- Side views of Pic 1D for perspective's sake.
[Pic 1F] -- An example of a cloak. This one's probably too bright of a green for a sneaky ranger, but you get the idea.
[Pic 1C] -- Simple design though it lacks color and is a little too somber? (Note, this has the laced up boots I don't care for)
[Armor:]
-- Any armor is either leather, studded leather, or chainmail; NO platemail
-- Usual armor:
+ leather cuirass
+ leather bracers

[Pic 1H] -- Check out the Gondor version for an example of bracers. If you are looking to possibly add some detail to the bracers instead of going with plain ones, these are a nice example. Not too flashy but still very nice looking.
Note: These are just possible examples of Ranger garb for ideas. As mentioned with the clothing, please give the armor your artistic touch. What's here in the pictures is not necessarily the 'exact' armor that I want but just an example of what I'm talking about so you might have an idea of what might fit the character.
[Weapons & Locations:]
1 Longbow (w/ Arrows & quiver) -- Equipped on back (if it's not in use)
2 Shortswords -- Sheathed on belt at either side of hips**
1 Hunting Knife -- Sheathed at her left hip on the belt (in front of shortsword) or strapped to left thigh.
1 Small Dagger -- Hidden underneath cuff of right boot.
*Other options:

-- 1 Shortsword & 1 knife/dagger
Note: Feel free to move the daggers, knives, and swords around if you'd like. The locations are there mainly for my own reference and for those artists who like more detail vs less. Also, as long as she has her bow and quiver, feel free to be creative with the designs of the weapons.
Animal Companion: (Optional add in)
Dulcimer is the standard, dark-brown colored horse. Honestly, other than he's well-kept, he's fairly unoriginal when you look at him. There's no special markings on him that would make him stand out.

-- Anime-style or Realistic art is fine, Realistic gets you a cookie though
-- I'm very lenient in regards to how the outfit looks as long as it's not scantily clad. Please go for something semi-practical. sweatdrop Want to try something different than her usual outfit above? As long as it looks ranger-esque, go right ahead. wink
-- I'm not picky on poses as long as it's in character - just as long as she isn't sleeping. Battle pose, injured, drinking at the bar, sitting at a campfire in the woods, traveling on the road, hunting... if you have an idea for a pose/scene and want to know if it's in character, run it by me and I get back to you.
-- If you chose a battle pose, Jay mainly fights with bow and arrow at distance. If she's forced to fight at close range, she's switch to two weapon fighting usually holding either:
1. a longsword in her main hand, a short sword in her off-hand
2. a short sword in each hand
or 3. a short sword in her main hand, a knife or dagger in her off-hand
If you can only draw her with one bladed weapon, use either a long sword or short sword in her right/main hand.

If you want to do the evil/dark version of Ranger Jay:
+ Outfit is mostly black (instead of green or brown) with silver trim
+ Almost always has a black chevalier hat with a black or dark grey feather
+ She uses her dual-wielding blade weapons more often than her bow.
+ Possibly a more tired, grim, or worn look to her face and stance.
Otherwise, it's mostly the same as above but with style. wink
