Following the news that the Spice Girls are to reunite for Live 8, there are now rumours that a Greatest Hits album and a new tour could go ahead.
Richard "Biff" Standard and Matt Rowe, who were responsible for Wannabe, are apparently working on some new material for the album.
"It's all early days as the girls have only just come round to the idea of working together again," a source told The Mirror. "So many attempts at reuniting them have failed as certain members - in particular Mel C - wanted to pursue solo careers instead.
"Simon Fuller is the mastermind behind their renaissance. At the christening of Posh's sons last December, he saw Victoria huddled together with Geri, Mel C and Emma Bunton - Mel B couldn't make it.
"He said they just had to reform. The seeds were sown there and then for a major comeback. It's not been far from his thoughts ever since.
"He's considering all the options carefully. As well as the album, high-level discussions are taking place about a potential tour. Whatever is decided, you can be sure a lot of money will be made."
