Coyote In the City
Back in the day, in a land far, far away, known as Kansas, A young coyote by the name of Coyote was blissfully at play. He loved to chase shiny things and pick them up. Then he would bring it to his house in a box in the heart of Kansas City. At the same time, a man by the name of d**k, who was short, about 5’3 and chubby, and being the age of 32 and in the middle of his pre-mid life crisis. He was a person that was always on the go and stressed out. As always, d**k was rushing to work, but on this day, he stumbled across Coyote who was lying on the floor. Before this tricky coyote lay on the floor, he spotted the shiny object in d**k’s pocket from a distance. He decided that to get that shiny object, he would play dead and lure d**k to him. Then when d**k least expected it, he would grab the keys and run off. While d**k was making sure he was ok, he saw d**k’s keys hanging out of his pocket. Being the sneaky person he was, Coyote got up and grabbed d**k’s keys and started running just as he had planned. He ran across the street and was hit by a car. Coyote flew a good 5 feet before he landed and died. A mystical fairy, by the name of Shay, magically appeared. With a swing of his mysterious glowing wand and some chanting words, he brought him back to life and said “I’ll give you a second chance. I want you to learn a lesson from this.” And shay instantly disappeared with a puff of purple smoke. Coyote, with a puzzled look on his face, was not really sure what had happened, but he continued on with his business as if nothing had happened. At this time, d**k was furious and scurried off to work. At work, he was having a hard time at his boss who had been waiting for him and when he saw him, he threw a fit. Many hours later when d**k got off work with a face full of stress and anger, he saw the same coyote with his keys dangling out of his mouth and chased after him with anger like no other. Steam rushed out of his ears and his eyes turned fiery red. Coyote see’s d**k and runs across the street and a truck comes out of no where and hits him and instantly kills him. d**k comes by and picks up his keys without sympathy and runs off. Shay comes again with his magical entrance and brings him back to life with the same swing of his mysterious glowing wand and chanting words. Shay then said “Have you learned your lesson yet?” and Coyote replied with a yes. After Shay left, Coyote ran into the streets again and got hit and again died. But this time, Shay did not come back with his magic. Nor did he swing his mysterious wand nor chant any words. A few hours later, the city men dressed in navy blue suits came by and carried Coyote’s body into their van and drove off. The city then put up stop signs, stop lights, and crosswalks all over the city so other people would not meet the same fate as Coyote. In the end, Coyote never learned his lesson and died a terrible death. But he did not die in vein. He made the city safe for other people and animals crossing the busy streets of Kansas City. After all this resolved, d**k’s luck had changed and never dealt with the bad luck anymore. He received a promotion from his boss and never had a stressful day in his life. He met a wonderful lady and got married and had 3 children and lived happily ever after. The moral of this story is: “Look both ways before you cross the street and be careful and don’t steal.”
