Shadow's of the Darkness
Chapter 6
World of the Beasts

“Neko!! Breakfast is set!” Shelly’s voice called through the door. Kristal gave a mumble and turned over in bed. She didn’t want to face the day. A day of servitude. “NEKO, NOW!!” the dog woman barked. With a sigh, she heaved herself out of bed and shuffled to where she had thrown her cloths. They were gone. In their place was a pair of brown wool pants, and a green cotton shirt.

“GET UP OR I’M COMING IN!!” “I’m up!!!” “Hurry then or there will be none left for you!” Shelly’s foot falls lead away from the door. Grumbling, Kristal changed out of the pajamas they let her wear and put on the cloths. Her arm guards, belt and her sword where left near the door.

Kristal LotusWolf stepped out of her room with a deep breath. She was glad to have her sword at her side again, and the smells of breakfast pleasantly tickled her nose. With out a care or a want, Kristal made her way to the dinning hall. Just as she was to walk through the door, a strong arm wrapped around her and a hand clamped over her mouth. Instantly, she was bristles and claws, but before she attacked, Shelly calmly placed her hand on Kristal’s arm. Kristal relaxed in the strong embrace and soon found she was free and being led into the kitchen.

“I’m sorry Neko, but we have unexpected guests. We must eat here.” Shelly directed Kristal onto a chair that gave her a perfect view into the dinning room and of Amber.
Kristal watched her intently. That girl could one day be her sister-in-law. She was family in the young cat girl’s eye. Though she did want to know who the guests where.

“Your plate dear,” Kristal’s chair fell forward as she was pulled back into the small room. Shelly had placed a wonder full plate of eggs in front of her with some sausage on the side. “Thank you, Shelly. It smells delightful!” Kristal flashed a childish smile up at Shelly. Shelly looked down at Kristal with some new realization but turned back to the stove before Kristal even noticed.

The food was gone quickly and Kristal was leaning back in her chair again, trying her best to see who was just around the door way. “Neko!” Amber’s soft voice carried into the kitchen startlingly clear, “Neko, I would like you to meet these people. They say they have some important questions for you.” Kristal almost fell off her chair. They wanted to see her? What ever for? Her curiosity melted away. ‘Calm,’ she told herself.

Kristal LotusWolf held her head high as she came into the room. She wouldn’t be brought down by these week creatures. She came to a stop behind Amber’s chair and then looked at the two newcomers. They were girls, neither that old. The older girl was calm and waited patiently while Kristal sized her up. She would be a rather tough opponent even for a human. The other girl took her by surprise though.

“That is the wardrobe of a priestess among our people, but I have never seen a dress fashioned like that, let alone one on a human,” Kristal felt a growl coming from deep in her throat. The young girl just smiled, her gold eyes sparkling. “So you do come from the outside, though no where that I know of if this is not the traditional dress. It is a strange sight indeed but I was raised as a Creature, not a human. Why not tell us your real name, and where you come from, Neko sounds like a pet’s name.” Kristal glared at her. She wasn’t going to tell them anything. For all she knew, they could have killed a priestess for the dress. “If you prove to me you are a priestess, then I will tell you, and you alone the truth of my identity.”

This is only part of the Chapter. I will get the rest done as soon as I can! =^_^=
