~(nya!) Haruhi's journal~
There's not really much to say.... I'm an anime addict currently trying to find out all I can about anime (or Japan ^-~). Sort of on the shy side (not so much on the net), but I love all my friends a ton.... *giggle* Really anything can intrest me!
Elect the Dead
On Tuesday of this week, Serj Tankian's solo album comes out! Woo! All of the songs from the cd can be previewed on mtv right now if you want to hear it. (It's awesome!) Also, there's 3 music videos out from the album: Empty Walls, Saving Us, and The Unthinking Majority. Speaking of The Unthinking Majority, there's actually a note form Serj on the song. (You can find it on Youtube. smile )

Note From Serj Tankian:

Borders are the gallows of our collective national egos.
Subjective lines in the sand, water and air are separating plants, animals, and atmosphere.
Fear! Fear is the cause of separation for this imposed illusion, this cordoned off space from pre-birth.
When we run out of borders, we reach infinity and unity.
As for flags, they're much less useful than toilet paper.
No one has been caused distress by running out of flags.
They become useful in times of crisis and unjust manipulative coercions pitting the victim against the victor or vice-versa.
Neoliberal globalism is failing due to its underlying imperial ambitions and the discoveries of those sinister ulterior motives.
So the ambitions have reawakened for "democracy promotion," in the past few years.
In real terms, that means promoting democracy if and only if it serves imperial ambitions.
How about we create a real democracy right here and now!
Let's allow the people to vote for or against a pre-emptive war, universal healthcare, expansion of social security, the Kyoto Protocol, the International Criminal and World Courts, and the role of the United Nations in interventions and reconstruction of devastated lands. Let's vote for how we want our taxes to be spent, directly.
Major referendums discussed and debated thoroughly representing all sides of each issue on television.
All empires represent the aristocracy in their imperial ambitions, not the general populace!
Also in dire need is a true democracy of nations.
The UN Security Council should be dissolved and the General Assembly should rule all international affairs, allowing all nations equal access to the international forum and law.
Given the truth, all human beings will collectively choose the direction of this lost, possibly last civilization.

(It's long.) If you're interested in anything else dealing with the album, Serj interviews himself (there's a video on Youtube) and plays everyone including the pizza guy. (Ahaha! Seriously. He does.) Also, if you'd like to know even more about Serj, he has a few more songs of his own, some done with random rock bands, and for those of you who know of Serj's work before now, all his work with System of a Down before they went on hiatis. (NOOOO!!!!!! Both Serj and System of a Down are focused on teaching about the Armenian Genocide and spreading their beliefs about our government through their music. Even though he's solo, the music still reflects Soad, except there's less shouting and wackiness.)

Horray for Serj and Elect the Dead! Stay tuned for the cd in stores this Tuesday! (It costs $9.98. Mwaha...)

Interesting. The world can't work like that though. It's all fine on paper, but it's the nasty stuff that actually works.

That's why Serj is antigovernment. Humans have corrupted this world for too long. Why can't we at least make a difference for the next generation?

(*squeal* THE CD IS OUT!!!!!!! My brother plans on getting it today. WOOOOO!!!!)

Well, it's just plain not going to work. Everything that the government/politicians do looks bad on paper, but it's actually not. If someone was the opposite of one of them, they wouldn't be elected.

(Good job!)

Obviously not. Death offers a better prospect for justice then any of this world's many governments and such.

(Whoa. Serj did wonderfully on the cd.... I sort of miss the screaming from soad. cry )

I'm too much of a baka to understand that Ann.

(Good for him! Personally, I'm not too fond of screaming all that much. It depends.)
