Meet The Thief Club part 3
*6:14 PM, June 7*
Beatrice sighed as the pier came in sight. One, two, three, four. Great they’re all there. And I was really hoping someone else was late too. Sigh. "Now Blade’s going to yell and demand I have a good reason for being late-- hmmm, what is my reason for being late?"
Beatrice had woken up to her stereo playing the song “Things We Go Through” from her Hawk Nelson CD. She couldn’t help but sing along, and then she was awake and couldn’t go back to sleep. She casually glanced at her clock. 5:59. "5:59, already? Crap."Beatrice sighed and thought about all the shopping she had to do, the fact she had to take a shower and the meeting Blade had held earlier that day, saying that they all had to be at the pier at 6 sharp. She sluggishly got up and went over to her fridge to rummage around for food. Before she opened the door however a note caught her eye. B, DON"T FORGET to be at the pier later at 6:00 sharp and DON'T be LATE!!!! At first it didn’t click. It took her a while to fully wake up. “SHOOT! PIER! SIX SHARP!” she suddenly yelled in realization. She forgot she had to go be B for the Thief Club at the pier. “I-I-I have to wash my hair, I need to go shopping I-SHOPPING!?!?” she yelled out loud. "I don’t have time for shopping!" She glanced at the clock again. "I have 3 minutes to get to the pier, oh Blades so going to kill me! Nice job Beatrice! Oversleep for hours why don’t you!! What’s wrong with me!?” she screamed out loud again. She quickly scrambled out of bed threw on her clothes grabbed her bombs and ran out of the small apartment complex she lived in. Then she had started jogging toward to pier considering she didn’t have a car, even though she was old enough, and the fact that the pier was only 10 minutes away anyway. “AH!” Blade’s scream snapped Beatrice back to the present and she realized she was standing there like an idiot. The others could probably see her. She hoped Blade still paid her. She needed the pay. See, she liked to take herself out to expensive restaurants. That’s why she lived in a dump. She ran up and shouted interrupting Scythe, who was panting and trying to say something. “Hey guys sorry I’m late I jus --” B tried to say. “Where have you been?!” Blade screeched cutting her off. “I-I-I---fefff aliped” B mumbled something under her breathe. “What? B, stop murmuring and tell me where the heck you’ve been!” Blade shouted very, very, very annoyed. “I fell asleep, ok?!?!?” Beatrice yelled even louder, getting angry herself. “Listen I’m the boss here, so say another word and I‘ll kill all of you!” Blade screamed even louder then them. “H-hey guys got something to s-say…..” Scythe panted. “Today after, after, the meet- meeting I-” “I don’t care! Why are you late!?” Blade yelled grabbing her shoulders, frustrated. “And what the heck happened to you? You’re a mess!” Tech snorted. “Shut it, prep. You don't look any better,” Beatrice growled. "You really should wipe all that make-up off you face," Shoot put in quietly. “What did you call me, Miss oh-the-worlds-gonna-end-pretty-soon-so-what’s-the-point?” Tech yelled, her face turing pink when she realized jumping into water was not good for her make-up and hair, and totally ignoring Shoot. “G- guys l-listen to-----” Scythe stuttered still breathing heavily. “At least I’m not a goody-goody, “like OMG, that purse is soooooo cuuuute, ugh those shoes are so last week, oh my gosh he’s going out with who??!?!” prep. Beatrice yelled back, smiling at Techs reaction to her imitations. "Hey that was really mean!" Shoot said searching Techs very large and heavy purse for something to wipe off Techs running make-up. “Listen to me!” Scythe screamed, finally catching her breathe, only to begin coughing. "Yeah and and I'm not like that!" Tech yelled grabbing the cloth Shoot had found. "Oh no the preps are ganging up on me!" Beatrice cried in mock fear. Scythe's coughing fit seemed to be taking the wind from her, as she fell to her knees trying to breathe, this action catching everyone's attention. "What? What's wrong with you?" Tech snorted, her tone of voice obviously not caring. Beatrice had what looked like, a sort of scared look in her eyes and Blade just stared blankly, as Scythe finally got her breathe back. Tech was going on, and on about how Scythe just did something similar to a publicity stunt, and how she was acting stuck up by doing so. Beatrice, of course had to stick up for Scythe causing a big argument involving Beatrice, Tech, and Shoot because Shoot has to help her dear friend Tech, while Scythe and Blade just stared at each other. “Enough!” Blade said firmly, grabbing the huge blade on her back and stabbing it so hard into the pier it went all the way through, which resulted in everyone turning their heads toward her. “All of your stupid bickering brought us some attention. Someone’s here,” Blade whispered. Then she cleared her throat and said “Ok, ok I don’t really want to deal with this right now, so if you could slip away quietly, instead of bursting out with whatever plan you have to destroy us, forcing us to totally humiliate you by beating you to a bloody pulp, I would seriously appreciate it.” Blade yelled, hoping that whoever was there would do just that. Unfortunately, things never go as smoothly as that. “What are you talking abo-” Beatrice started, but stopped mid-sentence, startled. They all heard it. Something in the….boats maybe? No the water! Out of the corner of her eye Beatrice saw her, but it was too late. Before she had time to react, there was a knife to Scythes throat, and Tech was in the water. .................again. ***********************************************************************
