Now, these are all of the standard spam threads we're used to and now, we have that lovely Report System to help us fight this heinous crime, yes?
WRONG!
You see, it's kind of hard to have faith in a system that relies on people actually being on the site to use the system. When there are roughly one dozen Moderators for the General Discussion and approximately 0-4 are on at any given moment, I think it comes time to examine the system.
We have more MODs, so we Must be in better shape!
Au contraire, Dave. More MODs does not, in fact, equal more removed threads. It would mean that if the MODs were actually Online then yes, we would have a cleaner forum to play in. However, such is not the case. This truly saddens me when I count the dozens of reports I make in just a mere hour or two and see half of them go unanswered.
I report spam.
I do my best to keep General Discussion clean.
I use the Report System probably more than any other Gaian in the forum.
However, the Report System involves a team between the Moderators and the users (I) and unfortunately, there is no I in team, if you catch my drift.
